Pontiac Fiero GT

Desperately tried to pull away from my STi. Not. Gonna. Happen.

Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG

Magnificent engine in a lackluster cabriolet.

Ferrari 430

The owner walked into that 7-Eleven. At least he's got his priorities right. (Do the yellow calipers indicate ceramic brakes?)

Audi RS4

At this point I started wondering if all my spots were going to be black cars.

Mazda RX-7 Efini

Nice to see an RX-7 on the road, even if this one's a but run down.

Are you aware that in the second shot, there is a 1992-2002 Cadillac Eldorado convertible behind the F430? You know - an Eldorado convertible which was not manufactured! The F430 is a good shot, but the Eldorado convertible is so much rarer that it's scary! I believe I'm yet to see one - there were a VERY small amount of aftermarket conversions, like this one. So so cool - that's the real spot!

For the record, I'm pretty sure yellow calipers are an option and do not signify carbon ceramic brakes.

Love the fuel filler door.👍

EDIT: I was trying to figure out why the hood looked so flat and square in the fiero shot.

Then I realized it was the massive scoop.👍

I saw a few gems today, including a Ferrari 575 Barchetta (1/448) and that white Gallardo SE again, making a special appearance for my new camera! Pics later...

The Barchetta (one of 448) was the 550 model. The 575 model's open-top version was called the Superamerica; 559 of those were made.

Spots today:

r8-120607.jpg

Fantastic color on the R8 - black with a black "stripe," though being carbon fiber it was a little lighter than the rest of the car. No one on the road noticed it but one guy at the valet stand took a picture of it with his camera phone. The sound was pretty cool, but not too special. I did drive behind it for some time.

The new Bentley Azure. The guy driving seemed unsure of why I was taking photos, which is weird considering what he was driving. Only 400 of these are going to be made - this is the first one I've seen.

Of course, at the same time, so is seeing a Fiero on the road that doesn't look like it is only held together by the plastic body panels.

That one has a much nicer looking roof, I must say.

You're right of course. I also saw a 575 Superamerica today in black, but it was in a showroom I drove past (I think I posted a pic of it before). Anyway to the spots from yesterday...

In my village...
- A souped up Honda Fit (Note central dual exhaust)
- Despoilered Supra (HK and China plates)
- Evo V (Not my village)
- Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4
mixedbag39vp8.jpg

Central, Hong Kong Island...
- Subaru WRX (This is very much a Kowloon car - Japanese and modified, looks a bit out of place amongst all the Bentleys and Porsches of the Island)
- Porsche Turbo (Don't usually post this model as they're ten-a-penny but this one slipped through the net)
- 997 Turbo (Still badass)
- Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart (IMO these are cool)
mixedbag40zi3.jpg

- Maserati Quattro. Sport GT
- 996 GT2 (Interestingly enough, I just found out that this car was designed by a Hong Kong born designer Pinky Lai - um, he also designed the Ford Scorpio...)
- Alfa 147 GTA (Super sexy)
- SL55 (Vader Edition)
mixedbag41ny3.jpg

- Big old Roller
- Porsche 997 (Is that a GT3 bumper hanging on the front?!)
- V8 Vantage (Phhhwwwoooaaarrr!)
- Mitsuoka New Viewt (Based on a Nissan Gloria)
mixedbag42ba1.jpg

- Nissan Elgrand (A-Team for the noughties)
- A4 Convertible (Taken for the colour scheme)
- Unless anyone can enlighten me, then I'm just going to say this is a standard 997 with an odd body kit
- Honda Civic Type-R
mixedbag43ph0.jpg

- Toyota Chaser
- Another big old Roller
- Toyota MR-2
- Audi RS4
mixedbag44no3.jpg

- What the hell is this?!
- Z4 Coupe (Me likey)
- Daihatsu Move Turbo (In all it's 660cc engine revving, Turbo spooling, dump-valve whooshing glory - these are cooler and more fun than any Smart or Mini)
- AMG E-class (Ages better than a fine wine)
mixedbag45uw9.jpg

- Brabus S-class (You've seen Vader's ride, now see the Emporer's)
- Rolls Silver Seraph (Oatmeal)
- Another big Roller
- VW Touareg (Some kind of hot version? Anyone?)
mixedbag46tu6.jpg

- Alfa 147 GTA and Alfa Brera (Father and son)
- Aston V8 Vantage
- Aston DB9 (Hey, Im getting the hang of this!)
mixedbag47ev6.jpg

- Daimler
- Skyline GT-T (with GT-R badge on back - fool!)
- Ferrari 360 Spider (Apologies for my friend licking the wing. It's kind of a non-sober tradition)
mixedbag48gz1.jpg

and that's about all...

...well, there is this I guess...

Lamborghini Gallardo SE
gallardose01vj6.jpg

gallardose01bel6.jpg

..and that really is all.

... Oh, go on then...

Ferrari 550 Barchetta (1 of 448)

I can post any of the above pics at much higher resolution (3072x2304 pixel). If you want something just give me a shout.

Do you work on a bridge? Or do you just hang out there to take shots...

The latter. I have to travel between opposite ends of Hong Kong two days a week, so I stop off half way to have lunch on a bridge for an hour with my camera. Good lord, I'm sad!

I think only in Hong Kong could someone say they had lunch on a bridge and I wouldn't think anything of it. My one professor liver there for a while and has shown me tons of picture, I can not believe how packed that city is.

Yeah, it's a great city. Have you ever seen Ghost In The Shell? It's the same. In fact I think it was 100% based on Hong Kong.

Ghost In The Shell - Hong Kong
hkghostum8.jpg

It's all concentrated around one main area though. The rest of the land is undevelopable (is that a word) due to the rock. I live in a quiet peaceful part of HK near some beaches, but only a 10 minute bus ride from one of the most densely populated areas in the world.

Sorry, back on topic...

The 'what the hell is this' car is a USDM Nissan Quest:

Good spots as always. The Colt Ralliart (the yellow one) is so weird-looking. That was a car that was never destined for a performance version!

Wow, thanks for pointing that out. There's been more than one occaision when you point out something lurking in the background of my photos (the Civic Si sedan comes to mind). Even now, looking at the image again, I thought it was a laundau top. You could make a drinking game with that word: laundau!

Yeah, and getting a good look again, the discs are too shiny to not be steel.

Of course, at the same time, so is seeing a Fiero on the road that doesn't look like it is only held together by the plastic body panels.

I think it's the only one not held together by zip ties & duct tape. Must have been cared for lovingly for all of its 20 years.

Isn't that the 300E Hammer or something?

Are you kidding? I'd do that all the time, too, if I could!

Speaking of Mercedes:

Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG

Supercharged!

Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG

Not supercharged!

Honda CRX Si

I think it's a badge job. Am I right?

Land Rover Range Rover/Sport/Supercharged

This is not at a dealer of any kind, just a group of owners who perhaps enjoy parking together. I see a Sport Supercharged, a Supercharged, another Supercharged, and then one more Sport Supercharged. There's gotta be a $250,000 of LR right there.

Citroen DS

Rustbucket of the day. Probably just as comfortable to drive now as it was then. Love those bias-ply tires, too.

All of the above listings except for the S55 were all in one car lot. I'll be going again to see what else shows up.

chaser, the Porsche you took a picture of and thought it had an odd bodykit on it, I think the front bumper is from Techart. It seems like a lot of their cars have a similar front to them.
