Thanks Cano for the mention on the Packards - not this crowd's cup of tea but some awesome cars to see in person. Any idea on value?

Well, I thin they can go from a couple hundred thousand bucks in good shape (like those) to up to 3 million for a really rare one; those are BTW 1934 Phaetons.

And you dont even went to see the red porsche in the background, right?

Twelve-cylinders, right? They were indeed 1934s - nice job!

They're everywhere Cano... everywhere. One of these nights I'll do a "stuff other people would photograph" day and turn over like 100 pictures... and wow people with spots of SL55s. Rue should do the same; the thread would have hundreds of photos between us.

Tonight...

You didn't happen to hear that thing running did you? The pipe on that bad boy must make it sound awsome.

No, it was a pretty deserted parking lot (I think there's a performance tuning garage there; it's where I usually see an M Coupe, and where I spotted that "Skyline"). That does look like a unique pipe though.

Doug, you see so many Astons I'm surprised you haven't stopped photographing them yet.

---
Today:

- I saw the so-called Skyline again. The window tint was pretty dark, but I could see in just enough to tell it was LHD :(. I also saw a 1st/2nd gen Viper, but couldn't get a pic.

2nd gen Camaro (the one I couldn't get a pic of before), XK8 conv, C3 Vette.

Had to go down near my old car spotting grounds for work today so I took a quick detour to have a look. Provided some decent spots.

Saab Aero X, either I haven't seen one on the road yet or I have and just didn't notice it.
P7170053.jpg

Old Zed Car, I have a soft spot for these.
P7170054.jpg

A very nice looking convertible M3, I really liked the rims on it.

I don't think I've seen one of these, a Volvo C70. Looked pretty good.
P7170061.jpg

BMW Z8, these are getting common on me.

Another *yawn* Dodge Challenger

Mark my words... these are going to tripple in value over the next few years, and even more over the next couple decades. 👍

The market is softening now, but Z8's are going to do very well over the years!

I don't post on here that much but today I feel like I should...

Aston Martin DBS, dealer plates indicate that it was delivered yesterday.

So I'm sitting in the Escape waiting for my mom to get out of Publix, our grocery store, when a Red Porsche Cayman pulls up and parks right in front of me! I was parallel parked infront of the store. So that was just awesome!

Then the guy got out. Wearing a Corvette t-shirt

Oh no doubt, I can see how they could be a very desirable car. They look fantastic and I have to imagine drive equally as well. A couple years ago though I never saw them and now they seem they are everywhere. Defiantly one of the more common cars I've spotted this year...with the exception of the Challenger though :P.

Awesome DBS spot, that car's beautiful!

A bunch of MG's. I don't want to embarass myself and try to ID them. If anyone can, that'd be great.

And the Elise again - the body just has an awesome shape, it's nice for straight-on shots. If I see it again, I'll probably have to get a direct side shot.

2day

zonda-071208.jpg

Zonda F

Mooey props on the Zonda, but what exactly is that vented-hood SL-looking thing to its rear right? You know, the one with all the camo on it? And the other thing, directly left of the Zonda, with it's headlight poking through? Where were you, on Mercedes' private testing ground?

But, uh, nice mule you got there. 👍

Packards!!

Packards!

Oh, sorry...I thought were doing one of those things. I got a thing for Packards. :dunce:

That's R50, but still very cool. 👍

So, as expected when I finally get off my duff and post, I have a mess-load of them. Not all are amazing, but fun to see, fun to share....

Audi RS4 Cabriolet

Second one in as many weeks. Go figure.

Audi RS4

Subtle color and rough parking job had me thinking it was a fake, but...well, it wasn't.

Audi TT-S

A dealer car, but two things: it's not officially out yet (I think) and it was at the Bear Mountain Inn gathering. It was also only one of two non-American classic cars there. It was the first time I've been there, I'm definitely going again, and I suggest it to anyone else in the area. And the driving is epic....

Bentley Silver Spur

It seems that with the rising popularity of new Bentleys, old Bentleys are following suit, albiet at a slower pace, and only the more recent 80's and 90's models. Still looking for the real classics.

Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell

Is this an official car for sale, or is it some Disney marketing special?

Dodge Viper: RT-10 1994, RT-10 2000, SRT-10, SRT-10 coupe

A brace of Vipers, spread out across 2 weeks. The '94 was driven by someone no older than 20, I'm sure of it.

Dodge Ram SRT-10 Quadcab

Something else Viper-powered....

Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole

This picture was taken around noon yesterday, the car open to the sun. When I left the office at 6PM, it was still there. Either very trusting, or it's his "beater" Ferrari.

Ferrari 328 GTS

Another dedicated Ferrari fan, driving in the rain.

Fiat Dino 1968

Yet another rain-driven fan, but this one seemed to be speeding his way out of the rain rather than commuting in it. Sounded fantastic.

Lamborghini Gallardo

One for rent, one with just bad wheels. Probably worth a rent, though.

Lancia Beta 2000

Not year-2000, but model 2000. Every day it was parked in some way that obscured a clear shot of the back end. Anyone know what year it is? I can't remember the last time Lancia sold anything here.

Mini Cooper S Works GP

One of the few cars whose looks got worse as its performance got better.

Porsche 911 GT3 2008

I've seen quite a few GT3's since they came out, but never had a chance to photograph one. Now it shows up in the parking lot. Every day.

Porsche 944 s2

While waiting for someone in the parking lot here, I think the sun baked my head to the point where I felt compelled to take this shot. Now that I've posted, it still may be affecting me....

Harry, that would be a new SL65 AMG Black Series behind the Pagani, & the car to left is the mule for the upcoming Mercedes SLC supercar.

The Mercedes gullwing concept:

I don't understand why they're using a Viper body for testing. Didn't Chrysler and Mercedes part ways?

amazing spot there zonderf with the DBS.

Anyways, i decided to go downtown today to give my new 55-200 VR a test run and this is what i saw.....

Spot Of The Day

Someone like Rue would probably go "meh" but my jaw dropped when i saw this thing. I didnt even know they existed here in Canada. It looked RHD to me so i guess its not an import. I was excited when i saw it, but it was after when i had time to reflect, i realized how awesome this spot was to me

Wow, a new GTR in Toronto eh? I feel like driving to Toronto one day and just go car spotting. Downto T.O is only a good half hour drive from here anyways.

Great stuff on Bloor and Avenue/University. Looks like you were right infront of my work. You shot a couple of the regulars, the RS6 and Gallardo SE are downtown staples, but I've only seen the non-striped grey GT a few times. Great spot on the GT-R, I'll definitely have to look out for that, you shot it quite literally infront of my building.

Nice DBS ZonderF

I'm off for two weeks now, let's see what I can around California ;) Good luck with your spotting, doods.

a really nice s2k
dsc0142cb3.jpg

Very good looking S2000! 👍

This past weekend I saw my second ever Ferrari. It was a yellow 308 and it sounded wonderful. I wish I would have had a chance to follow the fellow for a bit.

Today, I spotted a white NSX and a Dodge Challenger, my personal first. But since I did not stop to look closely at the Challenger, I really do not have too much of an opinion on it at the moment.

And if I ever get around to it, I have a few pictures of a Dodge Viper SRT-10 on my phone to post that were taken a few weeks ago at the movie theatre.
