Did You See Anything Good Today? [Read First Post]

Great Tesla story above, really enjoyable read đź‘Ť Feel free to post the video.

I saw something good, infact very good. One of my relatives has got engaged to someone who works for Lotus. This meant he managed to get out a Evora for the weekend that we were going camping to watch Santa Pod Flame & Thunder. Was supposed to be getting a ride in it today but the weather was miserable. Infact these photos were taken in the rain too, thats why the ISO was so high. Did you know that there only 12 of these actually sold in the UK? They truly haven't taken off, which is a shame because they are far better than a Cayman or Boxster. I know which I'd have.

Really? Only a dozen? That means I've seen a sixth of all the ones in the UK - this red one that I spotted back in June, and a silver one the other day when I wasn't armed with a camera :indiff: I don't know if either is owned by someone living up here - they probably get around a bit.

I saw these today, nothing too special but at least I had my proper camera so they've come out okay!

Nice Eunos in good nick

Finally, an M3 pretending to be a CSL (Not a CSL, nor a CS, as it doesn't have a carbon roof nor the ducktail bootlid)

Isn't the only way its pretending is that it has the wheels?

Although I've blurred it out it also has a "CSL" themed numberplate - so the driver is blatantly trying to pass it off as something it's not. I'm not sure why, as anyone who knows what a CSL is will know that that car isn't one...

Also doesn't have the CSL bumper. What an appalling attempt to look cool.

Only sold a dozen? Thats insane! Considering how much Top Gear raved about it, unbelievable.

New spots from today, a few very special ones (No R34 GT-R yet, sorry):

Heh heh, I snapped a yellow BNR34 yesterday ;) Great photos as usual I love the NS-X and the Exige-S. It's not the same one I saw as mine had the black trimmings; spoiler, intakes etc.

You might be able to make out that this is the ass end of a white 997 GT3.

Cut it from the original 960*1280 photo. It was about 30m away at the lights which is why it's kinda tiny.

When it drove past I was amazed at how small the car actually was. Those GT3s certainly aren't large vehicles.

Recent. These were taken with a friends camera, and the date thing is messed up.. the pics with dates I didn't know how to take it off then.

911s in general aren't big cars. It's what I like about them - when everything else is getting massive, the 911 still remains a compact sports car.

What you've got labeled "Nova" up there is actually a Buick. Apollo, I beleive.

My brother-in-law had a Grand Prix just like that one, except an SJ model with the 429  He destroyed it through neglect, just like he and my sister do to all their cars :(

Thanks for the information!

Damn, a 429 Grand Prix and he neglected it? That's a shame, they're very nice cars.

That Z is sweeeeeet. đź‘Ť

Saw my first Panamera (technically not first but out of a showroom anyway) today, and good lord is it hideous. However I have to say it does look better in real life, but it looked absolutely horrific in photos. Dosen't help does it?

Saw the first car that I thought worthy of this thread, a bright red Ascari Ecosse, one of only two in Australia. At first glimpse I actually thought it was only a kit car. Unfortunantly I wasn't able to take a photo of it.

Saw some nice toys on my way home, unfortunately I commute on a bicycle so no pictures.

First was a classic Maserati. Not sure whether it was a Bora or a Merak, only saw it briefly at a set of lights. Sounded like a 6 cylinnder, so Merak? Sorry, my knowledge of the Italian marque is not stellar.

The second was nice, but sad.
The nice: Concourse condition Dino 308. Lovely looks, beautiful engine note.
The sad: Driver looked like a tool, and sounded like he didn't know how to match revs on changing through the gears without a clutch.

Benz fans - sink your teeth into this one. Much rarer than most people would consider.

Now, I remember researching a spot in this thread a while ago, and this car came up. I don't remember the exact car, but it is one of the first AMG road cars. Anyone want to lock in the model/chassis/trim?

Is that the AMG Hammer?

That was in the "Cars that you didn't know that existed" thread.Link

There's one in Toronto!?!?!

Could be a Hammer or an W124 with a bodykit. It doesn't have the same exhaust as the Hammer or the little AMG badges on the side and it has extra reflector surrounds around the rear plate but that is no reason to suggest that it isn't. Either way it's a cool spot. I love that car!

A modest selection of recent ones from me, sorry for crap cellphone pics (note Balboni Gallardo in background of 355 pic):

Yup, only 12 in the UK that are actually sold. Many of the ones you'll see driving around are still owned by Lotus (like the one I saw) as they test and of course the employee's get to take them out on weekends. According to the person who works for them, they have taken off really quite well in central Europe (Germany, places like that) but have done poorly in the English market.

That is an actual AMG body kit on that 124 but it's almost certainly not a Hammer. There are a small handfull of these cars in North America and they are all in much better Condition than that. Also as Rue pointed out the tail pipe isn't correct and it's missing some other details. Here's a good example of a true Hammer (though it's a coupe) http://www.gdtm.net/MBimages/C124AMG-1.htm

It's certainly possible for it to be real but if so it's in a bit of a sad state.
