How come you guys did not save the epic-big post for the 1000th page?
oooook, here we go.....
This is my biggest post yet, with some of the coolest spots of the last whole year, so dip in. And it opens with, undoubtedly, the coolest spot in my entire last year. This thing greeted me at a friend's shop one day, as if nothing. I had been saving it for a special moment, and what better?
!970 Boss 302, grabber blue, shaker hood, rally wheels. O.M.G. Just about pefect too. Anly shame? it's a slushbox, but it was on its way to get a proper 4-speed. Yeah, unbelievable that someone is gonna cut up an original Boss 302? Well... I was recently told it is a clone. It broke my heart. But damn is it cool.
here it is jst as I found it, in the shop.
details:
next, a mexican 1979 Super Bee in teal, big boils in the rear, Rallyes all around, check out how the rears are modified to be very very very wide. Cool.
Renault 4 Van in great shape!! it's actually the best one I've ever seen. When you find these things they are mostly rust, but check this one out!!! almost pristine. Wheels are blech, but come on, this is awesome.
Aaah this thing. First it was spotted in a trailer when out on a photoshoot. ET Streets in the rear, weird flames, Centerlines, cowl hood. Looked serious. Then I found it again, strangely, four blocks from my house on the same trailer. Checked it out closely. Looked really nice, the interior had some awful blue panels, but it was decent. The other day I saw it again, blew by the long straight avenue near my house, boiling the hides when jumping off. Really cool. Comes with a well warmed over 350.
pretty decent mid-60s Bug with Porsche wheels waiting for the green light. It could have been better.
1974 Dodge Monaco woodie, spotted near a moving flea market. The guy sells seafood out of his trunk. Really. Really.
1972 Javelin outside owners hose, who was doing some bodywork when I found it. the guy saw me and gave me some pretty mean look when he saw the camera.
1955 Dodge/Fargo panel truck, int has been sitting in the same spot for at least 6 years.
This thing popped up one night half block from my house when walking mu dogs. Obviously I went back, got my camera and blew this, dogs and all. 1977 Firebird in pretty tattered shape andf the ugliest colour combo ever.
Walking towards the subway from work, this very very nice Vette in silver, automatic, with Rally wheels. Rare in here, this thing pops up from time to time in the same place where I got these pictures. It's really neat, even if it's the later, slant-backed rear.
Bleh Vespa, but I have always liked these. It was even worse since I saw FLCL.
First this thing blows by and I dont have the camera at hand, but of course you dont see one every day (like 8 in the whole city), so I take the horrid picture just to document it:
Next day, the magic:
very British T2 Bus, complete with front mounted spare:
This car was cool, I found it yet again in the same upholstery shop that in the last couple posts held many cool cars, including another Vette. This, however, was unique: 427 ci,435 hp, 4-speed car, probably one of the rarest Corvettes in the whole country. I managed to get in touch with the owner and it derived in a full feature for the magazine I work for, with Pictures and article made by yours truly. You can see the entire Photo set in
here (or click the link in my sig). There is one word for this car: torque:
midly done Peugeot with some low buck tricks and some dough thrown in the engine (headers and the like)
Near my house popped this thing, a Mexico-only Montecarlo SS in pretty good shape, even if it looks tattered in the pictures. The thing is even a manual!! I really like these cars, they're cheap and special, come with an easily-modifiable 350, and their differential is the hardcore 10 bolt, not the wimpy 7.5 the Us cars came with.
Ah, this little 1972 Duster lives by my house. The thing is in awesome shape and is ripe for a big block transplant or whatever you may like, you wouldn't have to worry about much bodywork or rust (at least so it seems), just some power.
This little german-import T2 Bus lives three blocks from me, comes lowered, with Empi-knock-off wheels and with wild-painted suspension components.
This Mercedes was one of my first posts in this thread, then with some awful wheels. Now the thing wears Brabus replicas and lives right in front of my house, it sat in the street for well over a year then vanished. I wonder...
More Brabus:
Same shop that held the Boss 32 also had this bad GT350 wannabe, but it's still a cool-looking car complete with Wildwood discs upfront and 17 inch Torq Thrusts IIs. I think it also had rear discs.
Now, one of the most relevant, notorious cars in the whole city. It is a VW Brasilia, a Mexico and Brazil offering only, but this one belong to one of the city's VW performance gurus, so of course it's got a severely, severely chopped top and a 2 lithe engine that puts down a whopping 180 hp normally aspirated with short gears, so it runs in the 13-second range at 2+ kilometers above sea level. Goota love the Porsche wheels and the guy in the antenna.
Aside the Brasilia, this 300ZX was having some work done at the upholstery shop. Pristine.
crossing the street from the Brasilia held this little Porsche with horrid wheels. But hey, it is in pretty good shape! the guy has about three more Porsches, inclusing a red one with a custom turbo setup. Asking price for this thing was USD 15,000 I think.
1965 Mustang hardtop with wide Cragars in the rear and a very healthy sounding engine. Really, I barely took out the camera in time to get it, but I heard it way before I saw it.
wedding-donned fin-Mercedes, obviously, in pristine condition.
Another bleh 1966 Mustang, full of potential, tough.
hahaha, clothes-sale out of a Type 181 of thing, the car was fine, but come on, the moment is priceless.
Aaah this thing is neat, because it's got a turbo under the hood. I know the car, its pretty good, about 150 hp.
This thing popped up half a block frm my house and of course I had to go get the camera. The thing was really well cared for. Empi rip-offs were cool.
Very very rare 1963 Buick Riviera in so-so shape but full of pottential. These were never sold here so finding one is pretty damn hard.
Common LTD, but come on, in excelent shape!! sad thing is, it barely moves from that spot, but the car is maintained in pristine shape.
Also a car that was not sold here, Pontiac wagon... ok, malibu with Pontiac clip, but come on.
golden lock:
And of course, no 1000th page post could be complete without rice... check out the fire eagle in this por bug!:
And finally, on the works-monstrosity:
and indeed, here goes for another thousand pages in this awesome thread!!!
