From this afternoon. Very overcast therefore low light and also the air pollution is awful which made it an even darker afternoon, which means the shots I took have come out very grainy. Still, for the conditions they're not too bad.

Tags later, I'm tired (But, you all know what they are anyway.)

Welcome back the old Rue, glad to see those familiar angles and those kinds of diversity. I'm gonna have to make some requests on some of these later

nice Vespa on the first picture, I think I would have gone for that one instead of the italian piece of trash. Also, the black and orange 350 Z and the blue Subaru look cool, but the most interesting car for me in this bunch is the Suzuki Swift!!!! man that thing is HOT!!!! I have always always loved those cars for some strange reason, and that one looks mean, Bride seats and all. If you ever cross paths with it again, You'll have to cook MOAR pics of it.

EDIT: Ah, also the Spirit!! dang, hot car.

Spot of my life though,

A mid 90's AMC Potato SE. It's incredibly rare to find these and in this condition is almost mythical. I can't believe I got a picture of it :D

As far as I can remember one MS5 was built by Car and Driver using the MS3 motor, hence why it's parked there. Fantastic spot.

yeah, I know that is a Swift Sport, but that one has been modified if im not wrong? I mean, does the Siwft Sport comes with carbon fiber undies and Brides from the factory? if so, heck, I like it even more, haha!

And now, on to the very serious stuff: I never, EVER tought someone would find a car that you google and find nothing about. WHAT IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT'S GOOD IS AN AMC POTATO??? That has to be one of the, if not THE, weirdest spots in this place. Awesome, Skyline.

All this from a man who literally posts car wrecks of ruined pieces of American garbage on the side of the road. :dunce:

Abandoned eh? Is that what you call it. Given the chance which one I'd rock/see, I know which I'd want between a rusting aircraft carrier with wheels and a 600HP Ferrari 599.

ah, maybe, yes, I've seen my share of each (not the 59 Ford Wagon, that is a tough one), what I really like is the fact that they are left behind, that all that may have happened within their confines is now a rusting memory, and now they are just resting away in a long hibernation... or in plain pain waiting for someone to come pick them up. And aesthetically, nothing compares to an abandoned car. Any car in the world that you could mention would be cooler if it was abandoned, even if it would be cooler in a negative way, the "no way!" way.

I dunno. don't try to understand a thing of what I'm saying, I'm just weird. I'd rather drive that wagon just as is, obvisouly mechanically freshened/overhauled, than anything Ferrari has spit out of Maranello in the last 35 years.

So you like cruising more than racing.

They wouldn't be much would they? What do you roll with? From what I see in your posts, theres a booming trade for the restos, so what does it cost to bring back one of them total wrecks (I know prices range, so a mid figure)?

Heck no, I love racing, cruising here practically doesn't exist. However, track racing is growing rapidly over here and some people are building some stupidly fast cars out of whatever they like. it's pretty much like in the US, but if there are 300 examples of a certain car in one US city, here would be like four. For example, in here (Mexico City) we have about four or five 600+ hp Camaros prepared for track racing, and that's it. Same with, say, SRT4s, there are like six mean ones in the entire city. About ten Mustangs maybe, two aproaching 700 hp. A couple of serious BMWs. four or five Porsches. Two GTRs out of seven in the entire city. Stuff like that. but heck, five years ago you could not even imagine a 450 hp car in here. Now you have Hondas making 500. It's been nice and quick.

A restoration here is EXPEEEEEEEEENSIVE because, well, finding parts here is hard as there are is not a national association of classics like there are in other countries. If you find a part, be ready to pay big bucks for it. Good restorers are hard to find in here and the ones that do quality work charge absurd amounts of money. And well, shipping costs for bringing parts from the US are pretty prohibitive, so yeah, its a difficult and expensive game to play even restoring one of these hulks to stock condition, let alone engulf it with some performance. And the backyard builder is almost nonexistant here in Mexico. And of course, there's the brands. If you are resurrecting an old Ford, you may wind down with reasonable costs. If you restore a Chrysler, you will spend easily twice or thrice that ammount. If you restore an eurpean car, you're just nuts.

Some night spots from this evening (welcome back to my lovely little Canon S45) and a couple outside my office in fading light, one of which I need an ID on.
