Well, while you are breaking the rules of the thread so am I. Myself and Dac_Xint had a look around a few garages yesterday and saw some simply stunning stuff. Let me give you the rundown of the stuff we weren't allowed to photograph and Dac_Xint will, I'm sure, provide you with some awesome photos of the stuff we could (if he's recovered from the shock and awe of seeing a rather nifty white thing) and I will post pics of the stuff I saw on the way to meeting him.

Unfortunately not allowed to photograph the following...
Red Lamborghini Countach
Black Lamborghini Miura
Red V12 Jag E-Type x2
Red Alfa Romeo Montreal
White BMW M1
Red Aston Virage Volante
Pale blue Gumpert Apollo
Yellow Lamborghini Diablo VT
Stripped down to the metal 993 GT2
A dozen or so Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F360/430 GT2 cars
A Zonda under a cover but I'm not sure which model maybe a Cinque or possibly even the Zonda-R as I know they have one but I forgot to ask - Doh!

Pics of the rest later...

I'm still waiting...

and it's a new page so no need to compete with all of Cano's muscle cars

Christmas has been rather blurry. Camera left at a friend's house. I'm sure Dac_Xint has a similar excuse. They'll be up soon(ish).

Happy holidays everyone, here's what's been sitting in my PC for the past week, I've taken lots of photos on a few cars so I'll only post a selected few here. Go to my gallery for the rest, I think the cars deserve a click.

Photos from the road are as follows, for photos from showrooms please head to the other DYSAGT thread, all the good ones are there-->

First up, a tastefully modified Elgrand

Joey's one look a lot rounder though. Was there a facelift of the more angular one?

That's the part that's really throwing me off. I've found a bunch of Isuzus with that front end, but I can't find one with that rear. The closest I can get is a Geo Storm Hatchback. All I could find is the Impulse, Piazza, and Asuna Sunfire, but nothing that looks like that. It's a weird mix of them all. My best guess right now is someone bought a Geo Storm and just swapped the front out with a Impulse, but other then that I really don't know.

The only car that we remotely got like that in North America that I can find is a Asuna Sunfire and that was only sold in Canada. I can't seem to find a hatch back one either while looking around, it seems like they were all liftbacks or fast backs.

It wasn't today but when I saw it I didn't have access to the internet. I saw this Maserati Gran Turismo whilst on a trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. I have a few other pictures of it; the driver decided he'd park just where I was walking to.

I also saw quite a few nice cars on the motorway back, mostly Aston Martins and Jaguars, but there were some R8s and Porsches out and about.

Skyline, can you provide close pisctures of the "classics" (1936 ford in the aft,m I think, but I want to make sure, no idea of the other) and the Avantis?

And a pity to see the 944 smashed up.

Dac_Xint, the black Evo and Civic look mean, and the Alfa. Dang my job over there would be easier than heck, but so boring... when will rue or you show us aaaalll the muscle cars hiding in HK?

Not sure about the classics, they were in someone's driveway.

But I have more of the Avantis. It was the old Avanti place so there's a lot. I don't have close ups, yet, but I do have these.

wait, waitwaitwaitwait... you mean that was the Avanti factory?

oh man...

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE PLEASE PLEASE somehow manage to get inside and shoot some stuff!!! I know you have managed to get inside some garages, but getting inside here would be INSANE!!!!!!!!

at least try to get a camera with powerful zoom!!! for all the cars you find, you need at least a Canon S5!!!!

I'll see what I can do. Later this week or next week I'll try to swing by and I'll go take some better pictures.

And I know, I have a Rebel XS, but I just have the 55mm lens, the zoom is lame . But I will try to get better pictures.

I'll be all over the stuff you can grab!!! I love Avantis. Have yet to see one in here, I dont even know if there is one in the whole country.

And that is precisely why I'm suggesting a big-zoom camera like a Canon S5, built in 15x optical zoom and istabilized... it's the PERFECT camera for us street car hunters. I have an S2 and rarely miss something. And its not THAT expensive either.

Hong Kong just brings up the most bizarre things sometimes. These pictures taken down some random back alley:

Yeah that Civic was bad to the bone and it sounded biblical too. I think they were doing a bit of work on the engine as when I took the photo the guy was taking for a quick shakedown round the block. It's exhaust note echoed off the skyscrapers from blocks away. Such a cool car the CTR.

The Lambo has the SV kit and an added air intake on the roof. At first I thought it was an SV, in fact up until when I posted the photo I thought it was an SV but the wheels, lack of decals/badges kind of give it away. It's actually in exactly the same spot where I saw this black one a while back...

I'm thinking now that the purple one was once the black one. That would make sense as they had a spray booth there too. Wonder how much it cost to do that?

Cheaper than what Lamborghini charges for the color alone, probably.

Hey, Rue, why is Hong Kong so flash? Do people really have that much savings or are these cars being bankrolled by the financial centers?

Property, finance and organized crime.

Also, sad but true:

Additionally, due to taxation, you can't own a car in Hong Kong unless you have a lot of money. This makes anything you see either a taxi or an exotic. I'm sure Rue's spots would be fewer if there were more regular cars out there.

I've also heard there are more millionaires per square km in HK than anywhere else in the world.
