Did You See Anything Good Today? [Read First Post]

Well im sorry but Im fed up with silly comments that seem tantamount to baiting!
It has nothing to do with baiting - it's one of the rules Giles posted in the first post in the thread:
So, now, we have a new thread, and new rules:
  • Please, only list cars that are interesting in some way. We don't want to see anything run-of-the-mill listed. In the previous thread, people announced having seen a BMW 328i, or a Nissan 240SX. These sorts of cars are not interesting, unless there is something specific about the car itself that makes it unusual, like seeing a new model on/before launch day, or a particularly good custom job. Cars worth less than $20,000 US when new will struggle to qualify as "interesting".
  • And while I'm here, some of you are forgetting this one, as well:
  • Don't just state the name of the car. Give us a picture at least - even if it's a crap one from a camera phone. If you can't show us the car, how can we believe that you saw it? And don't just replicate an image from Supercars.net or the vendor's web site: we want to see THE car that you saw.

So what makes a GMC Envoy "good", Joey?

I wiki'd it to see myself: it's like a SUV/pickup truck transformer, the roof slides up front, a rear passenger seat/truck bed divider appears, the rear glass slides down into the door (which opens either horizontally OR vertically), it's all ready to hose down in back after trucking to make a clean conversion to SUV again. Definitely a courageous design by GMC, unfortunately for them it only sold well in MN (so I hear.)

Then what if I told you that in my opinion, the Envoy, despite how rare it is, isn't a "good" car? Would your answer clash with what you said previously in the other thread??

No it wouldn't, and it's not a good car. The GMT360's weren't good vehicles at all. However, the XUV isn't something you would see daily (unless maybe you are in Minnesota) and is at least interesting because of that.

well its my first post in this thread, but i always take pics of cars that are interesting. no matter why. here is what i have seen in the last few weeks.

Way to get back on topic! Three cheers for you sir!

Curious! Land speed record holder for utes/pickups! Why don't we get Holdens in the US, they're a GM affiliate? Oh wait, we did get the Pontiac GTO. Anybody ever seen one here?

Welcome to the DYSAGT thread Antipodean friends! Love that ute. Looking forward to more pictures soon!

After doing some research I think I may have gotten the XL mixed up with the XUV.

My Bad.:ouch:

When we still had the Pontiac export going the US also got a ute. It wasn't the Maloo but it was based on the Commodore SS-V ute I believe which is pretty much the next best thing. Pontiac G8 Sport Truck I think it was called.

Also the export might be starting up again, but as a Chevy rather than the now defunct Pontiac. A few cop cars in the US were developed by Holden Australia and are badged as Chevys.

I believe that was one of the first Australian-import R35's and was used as a Targa Tassie ride. Glad to see it's still going around.

The title of the thread is "Did you see anything good today" NOT "Did you see any pickup truck with a massive nissan badge that you couldn't figure out what it was today." This could be for many reasons, it could be because nissans are as common as dirt and the frontier is their only pickup, or it could be simply because noone would open a thread with a name that long. I'm not sure, but I do know that I can't remember the last time you posted something "good."

As a separate note: I have like 10 photos for viewing pleasure, but need to buy a cable to connect to the computer :(
Good is a relative term...Didnt see my 350z pic? Or Honda Prelude? Rolls Royce? Triumph Stag and DB9 in t'other thread?

And what cable do you need? USB? We have a USB farm here. The buggers are everywhere!

Couple of Nissan 350's

See, we can quibble all we like in this thread but some cars that you might not even take a second glance at would be very interesting to people from other countries. I for one would have been all over that green pick up in the background and wouldn't of given the Nissan the time of day. Horses for courses...

Thanks for the photos wtftrauma, I love the old DS there.

I saw quite a few of the Pontiac badged Holden Monaro when the GTO was first released. Other than one being on down the street from me, I cannot remember the last time I saw one. The Pontiac G8 ST was slated to be released, but was shelved and never made it off the car show floor.

The roller, trium and db9 are nice 👍 I'm just saying the majority of your posts have been questionable....

The cable's for my phone (droid). Lost my original charger cord, bought one from bestbuy, but for some reason it doesn't bring up the "link via usb" message on my phone. I'm thinkin I would need to actually buy the "real" cord that's sold at Verizon. Micro USB to USB isn't as common as mini usb to usb, but it's common enough for sure

Ah i have a motorola defy and a spare blackberry cable from a previous phone fits

I'm back car spotting like a G.

Chevy Spark on M plates, it's really not as awful as I thought it was going to be. I still wouldn't want to own one, but it's not hideous like the Aveo is. I still think it looks like a Pokemon though.

crunch, what a first post. That Initial D'd 86 is pretty well done. And the Lancia. OMG, TEH LANCIAAAAAAA

Welcome indeed, both of you. nice Ute (it looks so agressive) and DS! Nice grandpa Mustang too, Joey.

S500 AMG - I don't see many AMG's - and just curious, but I thought AMG's were a letter + 2 numbers like C43 or E55...

Not as good today, but a couple.

Looks like either a Project Khan or at least a Project Khan front bumper on it. Hard to tell since I don't ever see modified Land Rovers around here.

BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo, I haven't actually seen one of these and I'm actually surprised there are people in the world willing to part with $60,000+ to own this travesty. Please tell me they aren't popular elsewhere in the world? It's like a more refined Aztek.

Toyota FJ "Trail Teams" edition, apparently only 1,300 were made. I got curious when I saw it since I had no idea what "Trail Teams" was. I assumed it was something like Jeep's "Trail Rated" badge, but after a Google search I found it was some special edition. It looks like this guy removed his roof rack and installed a Jesus fish though.

First time posting in this thread. A collection of pictures I've got through the years. Not much happens in Maine. The most exotic dealership we have in the entire state is a Porsche dealer... :/ I've got more, but I'll post them later. Apologies for the quality of my pictures. (Thanks to Joey D, for showing me this thread! Got my head out of the GT5 forum, X_X)
