Nice post NISM0_SKYLINE! Such a mixed bag you've got there. Your photos seem a little different than usual for some reason. Anyway, great stuff!

Chevy and C1

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's a either a Chrysler or a Plymouth. Not sure which. I could be wrong...but I wasn't aware that Chevy ever made a car with that body style.

EDIT: I believe it's a Plymouth Roadrunner Convertible.

EDIT 2: Correction: it's a '67 Plymouth GTX Convertible.

EDIT 3: Comparison photo:

Wrong. 1965 Chevy Chevelle/Malibu.

Nismo, wtf with your town and it's Citroen community... spectacular!! I love all the weird french stuff, in fact your silver "not sure" is actually another Citroen, an SM from the late 70s to early 80s, could have been a turbocharged car. Spot of the month for me if you ask, that thing is awesome.

As fvor the rest of your "not sures", the first magenta car, I'm not sure either, it's been so smoothed out in it's transformation to a tasteless street rod that it lost it's identity. The green with black street rod is a 1940 Chevy Suburban, WAY rare. Such a pity to see it in such a vulgar shape.

Alright. After review and closer inspection, you're right. It's a Chevelle...the stupid half skirt over the rear tires gives it away.

/start rant

Since its obviously frowned apon to post car sightings in here without accompanying photos, where can those of us who don't have pics post the sightings then?

Could be many reasons for not getting a photo of a nice/rare car, like mine;

- I'm usually driving and only have a cellphone camera, and its against the law to operate a cellphone while driving now, so don't want to risk getting a fine/demerit points. Although occasionally i do try take a photo if i get a decent chance.
- Said cellphone usually takes about five seconds or so to get itself ready to take a photo. Nine times out of ten the phone takes too long and i miss the car, which is annoying.
- Don't always carry said cellphone with me (i use another one for texting etc) and thats typically when i see the nice cars!

Completely outlandish claims can usually be spotted quite easily, so i'm not sure what the problem is other than a lot of posts with no photos.

Going by the topic title, all we actually have to say is 'Yes' or 'No'... Posting what we saw is optional, and posting a photo of what we saw is a bonus. I also don't really agree with the 'showrooms and car shows etc don't count'. Have always found rules like that a bit stupid, since some people (like myself) can't afford to travel out of their town/city much/at all and so seeing a nice car in a car show/dealership is the best/only chance some of us get to see nice cars in person.

I've only ever seen a Lamborghini in a car dealership, and even then it was in a city five hours north. Have only ever seen a DeLorean in a local car show. Ditto for a Ford RS 200 road car. Only seen one Nissan GT-R and by the time the camera was ready the car had passed us. The very first Mercedes-Benz Gullwing AMG (or whatever you call it) i've seen was in a car dealership last week, same deal for the Audi R8 convertable in another dealership.

To me (and some others) they are car spots, as we barely ever get the chance to see them - especially not when driving.

/end rant.

But anywho.
Recently i've seen;
- Plenty of new Shelby GT 500's (pic of one of them below, taken with my cellphone while driving)
DSC05502.jpg

- A white Aston Martin Vantage (new one - only pic i have (attached) is of it in a car show last weekend, as phone is never quick enough when i see it on the road). The owner of it used to run/own a couple of McDonalds restaurants in this city so i got told. First saw this Aston a couple of months back, and have seen it a few times since.

DSC09486.jpg

- A Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer (at least thats what Google Images tells me, and the licence plate did have Boxer on it)

- A Ferrari 308/328 in a town an hour north (only saw it for a brief second when i was exiting a shop, but could have actually been the 512 above)

- Skyline GT-R's (since i'm in a Skyline club its not that hard - been in four GT-R's so far and driven two of those)

- Lotus Esprit V8 GT (with late model parts on it, like the rear lights)
DSC00702.jpg

DSC00698.jpg

- Lotus Esprit Sport 350 (i know the owner of both Loti', and should be getting a ride in the 350 soon since Winter is pretty much gone finally - will video it if i can get my partners phone from her)

- Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (C6) (very first one i've ever seen in person, but was at a car show - and is not local so chances of seeing it on the road are slim)
DSC09452.jpg

- BMW 3.0 CSL race car (dealership, but its not exactly road legal...)
DSC05561.jpg

DSC05562.jpg

- BMW M3 CSL (E46) (sure i had a photo of this, unless it was one i just missed, as it was coming towards us when we were driving the other way)

- TVR Griffith (in a garage, but again i'd be lucky to see one driving)
DSC09043.jpg

DSC09045.jpg

And more i can't remember/don't have pics of.

My fiance also saw the only TVR in this city a couple of weeks back, a T350 apparently. Didn't get a photo as she was filling up the van with LPG at the time and wouldn't have been quick enough anyway.

Sounds the part too. ;) On that and his 350 he's got aftermarket exhausts fitted and got the pipes to sit beside each other in the middle (instead of either side on the back).

The Esprit above he originally bought since he couldn't find a Sport 350 anywhere. Did a few things to it like putting the lights from the 2002 (?) model on the back (i prefer the original lights, but oh well) and so on.

Then typically a Sport 350 came up for sale. So he bought it and there are only two in NZ, out of 58 ever made (his is number 3).
Only pic i have of it at the mo, at the charity cruise i organised last year;

Actually no, duh. He bought it to one of our Skyline club meets when i texted him one day.

Dirty because he usually uses either Lotus to go to work at least once a week.

And he's currently looking for an Europa? I think, either than or an Elan.

Cars worth less than $20,000 US when new will struggle to qualify as "interesting".
What if the base car is worth just over $20,000 USD, but is worth three times as much in my country?

Camaro in Colombia (base price is $65,000 USD):

I saw a Camaro RS yesterday...

Is this the same one that was spotted near DMD a few weeks ago? Insane!

Just a few cars from me, but they're all quite special:

Highlight - Ferrari 348 GT Competizione Michelotto
Kevlar front and rear bumpers, kevlar seats, kevlar door panels

Aston Martin Vantage in a stunningly beautiful blue

BMW X5M

Audi RS6

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Yeah, the blue on that aston is gorgeous. Would love that on any car. I like blue though, my civic was in "dyno blue pearl" and it was spectacular in real life, still havent seen photos that did it justice.
If a wr blue sti had been on the lot and the tsunami hadnt ruined supply, Id have surely bought my car in blue (white is a fav of mine but only on cars as a daily driver).

Love that pic! I think perhaps only in NZ would you get such a nice mix of Oz, Brit and US cars in one field =) Nice SD1 swishing by at the top, and that little Herald looks like it's about to be eaten by the car behind (Falcon?)

Always great to see a stock RX-7. Along with stock GT-R's, Supra's, and a bunch of other JDMs. :)

It's one of the only stock RX-7's i've seen. I like how they look stock. The only non stock look that I like is the Veil Side that was in Tokyo Drift, but I couldn't live with that hideous wing. I'd want a stock or Amuse style wing.

Thanks for the names, I really don't know much about Citroens. I was surprised with all the cars out over the weekend, I guess everybody knows the snow :mad: is coming, so they wanted to get out. And the UTE was awesome to see.

I can't view half the pics in this thread at work was looking forward to seeing an SM later! But the CX is still a very pretty and cool car IMHO, and took a lot of design cues from the SM, both visually and technically. It's replacement the XM was pretty cool too, and still used the hydragas suspension system pioneered by the DS and SM.

Check out the rest of the photos

We had 155 cars there that day, and are hoping to beat it this year. There were a decent amount of Japanese cars there (and 11 of them from our Skyline club) as well as Euro's and so on. :)

Its an event i started up last year;

These are fantastic photos, Paul! Great stuff! As usual, I really like your composition. Looks like you're enjoying the 7D. Won't be long before I get the D7000. We'll have to go out for some action shots. Btw, that Michellotto 348 is the mutts nuts.

MODS: Sorry for the double-post. I wasn't thinking...
