Seen a W8 some time ago. Strangely enough, it looked a lot like a Passat.
I think I've figured out AudiAG/VW. They overlapped the VW & Audi lines for a number of years, getting closer with each new model year. People start considering VW a reasonable alternative to Audi. Lot's of GenX's and GenY's grew up with VW as a first car (a Golf, probably). VW moves up market -- way upmarket -- as Audi moves towards Porsche (more sporty). GenX/Y's are rather successful. Consumer loyalty for VW is pretty strong, so why not market the new VW for GenX? Even better, Audi should no longer a direct alternative to VW (hopefully having a full fleet of S* and RS* cars). Makes it seem like they planned the split all along, doesn't it?
Today was cool, though (a Porsche-type day):
996 911 Turbo: gull grey, driving very slowly on a main street (showoff)
964 911 RS: brilliant red;
*nice*
BMW E46 M3: aqua blue; hmmmmmM3
A car carrier with 2003 Corvettes, 8 in all, 3 Z06's; what a delicious rainbow of Chevy V8.
BTW, that "nice old car shop" I've mentioned before seems to be under new ownership. There's still an old Stingray for sale, but there's also a large "NOS" sign in the window...and a G5 Civic seriously riced out right next to that poor Stingray. I'll have to find new storefronts to ogle. Maybe something in Greenwich....
