the 06 gt at daytona is awesome tune thnx...

hmmm... another tuner... what's that, about 15 of us now?

i absolutely love your gt tune for the superspeedway... i will never use another one...

Glad to hear you liked the GT tuning.

Thanks to everyone who sent pm's for the Daytona Speedway settings. :)

I'll have fresh Daytona Road settings out this weekend for the expert PP650 event. It's great to have a true GT series track event back. This one is my specialty! Look for the usual American marks with the DR engineering.

Cheers.

Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car/Daytona Road PP650 Online Event

Power: 414
Weight: 101%
Aerodynamics: 10/21
Ride Height: +7/+3
Spring Rate: 1/1
Damper: 3/1
Toe (out/in): 0.00/+0.05
Camber Angle: 0.2/1.0
Brake Balance: 6/4
Max. Turning Angle: 48
Traction Control 0
ABS 1

Transmission
Gears: Stock
Final - 3.648

Power/Weight: Obviously the only way to get it into the event.
Aero: Once again, an obvious setting with an option for an extra rear point at no extra cost.
Ride Height: There were a number of combinations that improved acceleration. From subtle to extreme. This one keeps the back end low and the front end forgiving through the bus stop.
Springs/Dampers: Very much a trial and error point. soft and slow in the back provides the bite out of the corners.
Toe: More than this setting the rear loses acceleration and braking power.
Camber: Same as toe. See above point.
Brake Balance: Putting more of the balance to the front seems to stablize the back end under hard braking.
Max. Turning Angle: I was so tempted to run this at 50. Spooling out the power while unwinding the steering lock was fantastic at 50. However the results were not so glorious through the bus stop. The curbing seemed to play havok with the wide open setting. The lock at 48 is more stable.
Transmission: I wish there was more I could do to improve this. however, the torque from the GTLM plays a big part in the handling characteristics. I have choosen to leave the gears stock and the Final is the point the entire chassis was tuned around. Second gear through the slow bits, third through the bus stop.

I decided not to offer this tuning through "pm only" as the punters and idiots don't have the skill or desire to run this type of car at Daytona Road anyway. This is a man's car. Plain and simple. No short cuts with the GTLM.

Enjoy. :)

Thats what I like to hear! 👍

Can't wait to try it out....

A lot of labor and testing went into this one. Although I tend to stick to the RWD cars, the lap times people were posting in the GT-R seemed too other worldly to ignore. Not only that, it made some of my customers green with envy. So being the kind of guy that listens when the customer talks, I went out and tuned one of these Mongolian time warp machines (live dynamics and everything ) and found myself turning high 1'47's. Surely someone could make this thing go 1'46. in free lap.

The point is if you want to win a wad of races at Daytona Road, you gotta get with the Kaz program. And that means GT-R (sigh). Or you can simply do what everybody else does and cut the bus stop chicane. lol.

just wanted to say thank you for the GT-R update, only have time to try it at the weekend :guilty:

Keep up the good work 👍

Thank you and not a problem. There were a lot of requests for this tuning and a lot of people are too busy to try it yet.

Everybody can expect a minor transmission update by the weekend anyway. Nothing major. Just a tooth or two in three of the gears.

Thanks for the mention Raven, but as you'll have just seen in the message I sent you, you deserve much more recognition then I ever deserve for winning those races for your conduct, respect and general all round nice guy-ness ( I don't care that thats not a word ). Remember there's a person behind all these numbers and text, and he's a true gentlemen of GTP, be it on or off the road.

Can't stress that enough.

Good luck with DRT Raven, I hope you keep providing for the community (along with you other tuners!) for much longer to come :)

Wow! I'm speechless man.

Thanks for the kind word. :)

Let me just congratulate you for this excellent post. I've never seen a tuner explain in such detail the reason for the settings. Thank you very much, I learned a lot with that. 👍👍

I've been running the Ford GT LM tuned by DC, and your tune is remarkably different. I'll test it as soon as possible. (just for a benchmark, I've been running 1'51's with DC's tune).

So I've tested your tune yesterday, and managed to run 1'50'6xx within 5 laps. It's interesting to see how different the cars behave. Your tune has much softer suspension, so it's not as precise in the turns (the steering wheel actually feels looser), but still very composed. Considering it is a Ford GT, it was easy to control exiting curves, and very controlled under braking.

I has some problems with the bus stop, but this is mostly my fault. Comparing to DC's tune I lost some in the infield, but that time was recovered in the straights, my guess is that the car is accelerating better (or it suits my driving style a little better).

Thanks for sharing the tune with us. 👍👍

Yes, the longer gears and softer suspension actually improve acceleration. This setup can still be fairly unforgiving. For the initial tuning I found that the bus stop was a breeze to clean every time. After tuning the GT-R for a week I took the GTLM out for a spin and realised that I forgot how to drive it. There are only so many lines that this car will take easily. And you really have to familiarize yourself with them. The bus stop is one place where you have to get it right every time.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. :) I always appreciate feedback. If there is anything you want to try from here in the future please don't hesitate to pm me.

The GTR tune is very impressive. I've made the brake changes and have noticed a great difference in the braking stability during the first turn. I've managed to run 1.47 flat but i think thats the best i can do :indiff: I'm using Pad at the moment so maybe someone with a wheel can get this baby into the 1.46s.

Great tune 👍 Stable in all turns :)

Hey Raven! I still need to test your tune with live dynamics, but from the laps I have driven it drives very nice. I'm going to setup the Live dynamics like you showed me this weekend and do some test runs so I can give some proper feedback! 👍

1'47 is where I'm at with the tune at this point.

I'm not pushing for any magic numbers though. There will be a tranny update coming Sunday that will shave another .300 easily. I just don't have time until then to do it. So check your pm on sunday afternoon.

Just make sure to adjust the settings in advance of the designated sections. 👍

have just spent an hour or so lapping daytona road with raven's gtr tune and im amazed. i hadnt been able to break under the 1:48 barrier before but now im consistently lapping in the 1:47.4 to 1:47.9 range. the only change i made to the tune was the brake balance which allows me to brake later for turn 1.

Thanks to everyone who tested Digital Racecraft tunings this year. 👍

I'm closing the garage for the holiday season effective today.

Look for new settings in 2009. :)

Ferrari F2007/fuji Speedway F/Pro Online Event

Tuning for this car is so limited and yet so painstaking. I've lost track of the hours spent laboring over the current and discarded formula's for this event since the update Christmas morning. Ghost replay after ghost replay. Trying to brake a little later with the nose pointed a hair straighter. Fine tuning the gears to give that extra push through the crucial sections. What I would not give for a little more steering lock! My rear end is tired. :ouch:

So I've got the thing down to low 1'15's in free lap. Two wheels on the track at all times. Low 1'16's consistantly during a 20 lap race. No draft. No runoffs. No help. With ease. Push right to the last marker at turn one and brake/steer with confidence. Wide open in 5th/6th gear through the triple apex right hander without a hint of quiver. Very little push anywhere and no oversteer. Very easy to race with. I can puff my ciggy and slurp coffee down the front straight without a care.

The formula that I have come up with likely won't be sexy enough for the tandem's and record setters out there but if you're looking for a fast car that you can go 20 laps without spinning and cutting...this may be for you.

With this setting you will have to deal with a very slight understeer. But it is agreeable and essential to counteract the oversteer. Enjoy

Aerodynamics: 140/200
Dampers: 9/9
Toe: +40/+40
Camber: 0.6/0.6
Brake Balance: 6/6
TCS: Off
ABS: 1

Transmission

1st - 2.920
2nd - 2.185
3rd - 1.872
4th - 1.630
5th - 1.443
6th - 1.273
7th - 1.155

Final - 5.660

If you are using a wheel, turn feedback setting to 1.

Great tuning on F2007, I slightly changed frt toe settings to suit my sub par driving skills did a PB lap of 1'16.668. In same set of laps 3 other 1'16.xx laps. About a 1 sec improvement. BIG THANKS :)

GO FALCONS !!!

Excellent! Best I was doing was 1'20.xx before, now I'm down to 1'17.7x in my first race with your tune. Thanks Raven!

Cool! Check out VDUB'S F2007 race at Fuji tonight if you get the chance. 9pm EST.

So I got a hold of this baby a few days ago, and took it for a spin around Daytona Road.

First thing you notice, before you even enter the track, is the usually extra-detailed description Ravenmaven provides with the tune. You can learn a lot just by reading the description. 👍

As for the tune, I have to admit that I was a little skeptical -- the gear ratio is quite insane, and the toe settings a bit more extreme than I usually see, but having driven Raven's tunes before, I've learned to trust the man. :)

Forgetting the numbers and taking it to the track, everything starts to make perfect sense. Turn 1, considered by many one of the trickiest of the game, is a breeze: the car behaves perfectly under braking, not a hint of over or understeering, which is really important here, because you'll be turning while braking.
The rest of the infield can be done quite easily, the tune is very forgiving, specially if you consider that you're driving a mid engine car.
The only part I found tricky is the bus stop. But I've had issues with the bus stop for a long time, so all I'm gonna say is this: considering the grip levels in a 550pp car, this is a superb job. My approach was to be a little more conservative in the first leg, since there's no scape area, I would only coast there, and be more aggressive in the second leg to get a good entry speed to the oval part. This car allows you to do that, as long as you don't screw up the entry points. Of course I did screw up from time to time, resulting in beautiful 4 wheel drifts, and even in these situations the car is quite easy to control.

To finish this review, there is one aspect that you can only fully appreciate in an online race: the acceleration. The aforementioned "insane" gear ratios are fully justified by what happens when you exit curves, or just fly past other drives down the straights. Within 2 races I was running sub-2 minutes laps, best was 1'59.5, without draft. I'm sure 1'58's are possible with a little more practice.

All in all, another great job by Raven. 👍👍👍

Thanks for the feedback Z. Alway's appreciated. :)

1'58's are possible as GTP Wanna B ran a high example with my settings. He made a couple of tweaks and ran a 1'58.500. I'll send you his mod's and you can try them. Also, I'm not sure if you recieved the height update. I'll send it along as well.

Thanks again as most people who request my settings leave private feedback. It's nice to see someone other than myself posting in the garage.

Sent a request for the NSX, look forward to trying it soon :) .

It's in your box now guy. Sorry for the delay. :)
