k, just uploaded these- will still be "processing" by Youtube probably for a few. Anyway, 1080p- just an early Gym on PS3 with G25, no aids.

cockpit view:

Hopefully I'll have the ambition to set up my camera in the middle of playing on one of my better runs- because of course there's no saving your replay on Dirt3.

Here's a few of my gymkhana clips from today, nothing special in there really, I don't get to much from other events as I play online so much now and there is of course no replay feature.

It would be easier to see this thread if it were stickied. I accidently posted a separate thread for my video... Well, I guess I'll just quote it here. Just ignore the other thread:

Here's a little experimental montage I made yesterday, which I thought I'd share. Just ignore the first 4 seconds, and you'll be fine :P

Good news everyone[/Farnsworth]

Done through the PS3 with the standard uploader in Dirt, hence the dodgy part right in the middle however were I to (now with the knowledge that my method works) put those dodgy sections in the middle of a camera change it would be less noticeable.

If enough people are interested I'll make a guide thread of how I did it and will create another better video with a smoother cut if I can and explain that also.

That's it, I'm getting that EOTW up in the next few days.... I never overtake the CPU though drifting ever, so I don't know how you managed to do so.

I'm interested Dragon

I'm attempting to create a full length (3 minute or so) video now from one quick gymkhana run. If it goes well (video wise, not driving wise I'm not aiming to impress there) I'll be sure to post my method in a standalone thread.

Cool, hopefully it goes well/

Initial findings, I've attached 3 clips together so far and it's looking great. However it is a very slow process after having had to restart which wasted 45-60 mins, that's still over an hours worth to get it uploaded and cut together smoothly. However the end product is looking fairly good and will likely post a guide on how I did it tomorrow evening. I still have a long way to go before this one is done, late night it seems.

The result:

As I said I'm not looking to impress with fancy tricks, I like simple drifting and flowing rather then crazy air or reversing tricks and whatnot anyway, I'm more testing my method. There's actually more bits which look like cuts that are actually the camera in the replay being confused as you free roam , in the first 30 seconds or so you'll notice as I drive past the ramp in the first area it flashes up another camera then disapears, that was the replay not my edit. Anyway, I think this has came out very smooth, feedback appreciated and I'll get on a guide later today.

Yeah the first part had some sketchy camera changes, but after that, some nice edit, now I can see why it would consume so much time to get the timing right with each camera change. Appreciate the time and look forward to the tutorial.

How are you capturing the video? The internal recorder only allows for thirty seconds at a time - what are you using in its place?

The internal recorder, all shall be revealed later today it's relatively simple if relatively time consuming, but when you think how long it takes to edit a montage or something it's not that bad. Most of the 'mistakes' aren't actually my mistakes the camera just can't be right on joyride due to it not knowing where you'll be next.

Nice mate 👍 I particularly like the seamless doughnuts around the 3 concrete pipes

Would you say, in that first vid, that you can tackle hairpins faster by doing that, or by gripping through it?

Scrubs to much speed on that one I'd say although you can enter faster the exit is more important particularly as you can go quite quick around then next few turns, you can certainly slide into them but that much angle kills the momentum.

I'd say gripping through is a safer option, because it's faster than sliding and there is only a small chance that you screw this up. I love those crazy angles in the hairpins, so that's why i do that, far less effective but far more spectacular. :D
