Disappointed in GT7

I'm glad I didn't get a PS5 and bought the XBOX series s instead.
Ooof, I got a PS5 for this hot garbage. I didnt learn my lesson from GT5 and GT6.

i bought a ps5 for 670$
wheels for 400$
racing chair for 220$
gran turismo for 70$

i hop you feel my pain not to mention i have a powerful gaming pc so the ps5 is kinda useless to me i always buy playstaion consoles for gran turismo / god of war ( wich is now on pc ) / metal gear ( game director no longer making it )
Should have bought an SX so you can play all the games without needing another PC (I have a PC/PS5/SX/Switch combo). I'm hoping Forza Motorsports 8 blows GT7 outta the water. Well its probably a slam dunk with how crappy GT7 has been.

I never bought a PS5 for stupid GT7, but I did buy it because 1) I was duped into believing it was a return to form of previous GTs and 2) wanted to give PD one last chance and they blew it a month ago. Thank god for Forza though. Without it, I would be depressed with GT Sport 2, I mean 7.

I don't think it's trash. But I do think it is stupid, dumb, and a pathetic game that has greatly pissed me off thanks to PD's ignorance and incompetent nature.

I like the ps5 and GT7. I’m just severely dissatisfied and disappointed in the lack of content in this game and haven’t touched it in weeks now.

Yeah ever since I was of working age I've bought PlayStations specifically to play Gran Turismo games and nothing else.

That'll continue into the future.
That was me with Forza/Horizon titles pre-crossplay.

I only bought my PS4 for GTS as well lol, I don’t play any other games aside from iRacing on my PC, and I’ve hardly touched iRacing since GT7 came out.
I ALMOST did this, found a PS4 pro on reddit and the seller was in the bay area, it was a great price too and I already had an ssd laying around. But I figured $280 for ps4 pro + GT7 vs $580 for ps5 (I paid +$20 scalper price) + GT7. Although I spent more than double compared to the ps4 I could have got I'm glad I got the next gen anyway. I skipped the PS4 gen. But I'm now thinking of selling the PS5, I know I can sell it for $580 used in the bay.

I'm not defending the game or blaming you at all but surely there are other games that you're interested to play in PS5? TDU Solar Crown made me want to buy PS5 since the PS4 version is cancelled.

Honestly I've always been kind of confused how someone can justify dropping hundreds or thousands of dollars just to play a singular Gran Turismo game, and when it doesn't live up to their hype, they feel like what they paid for is now completely worthless like they got scammed or cheated.

The PS5 has dozens of excellent games to be played on it besides just Gran Turismo, and there are other driving games of excellent quality available to play too like ACC, Project CARS 2, Dirt Rally, the list goes on.

Why would anyone ever spend 500+ over the price of a game on a console (not including peripherals) just to play a singular title? I don't get it.

That also goes for literally any game franchise ever.
You know, I can see your argument. I grew up fairly poor but I loved video games. Love for video games kept me going, getting an education, a job, and now I have money. I always wanted to be able to buy a nice computer and any gaming stuff I wanted. Now that I have the money, I don't care. I don't mind dropping $2k to play GT or $2.5k to get an awesome video card because that's the hobby I love. Also, people that buy the high priced items, make the lower cost items affordable. So this is my way of giving back to the hobby/industry/community that I love. You gotta invest in things that are important to you.

Also, ratchet and clank was really good

I bought 2 PS5s: one as a gift for someone who uses it daily (and happily), and one for me to play GT7. Highly disappointed in the game, as it has so much potential, but wasted, essentially having no 'soul' to it at all. Tried a few other games, but they didn't appeal to me too much. I don't care for the overly heavy and large size of the console, and hope that they come out with a PS5 Super Slim.

I bought a PS5 to play GT7 after it was released (I still haven't played any other games on it), other than owning a PS2 for a week, the PS1 was my last playstation.

I'm still enjoying the game, but they need to release the other 75% of the single player and increase the payouts massively for sport mode.

If you're new to Forza, Horizon 5 will be a lot of fun. I got bored of it quite quickly but I've played through the series on the Xbox/360/XB1/XB1X/Series X. I'm waiting to play the new Forza Motorsport game, FM7 was great (even 5 years later) after it was reworked by Turn10 after a bad start.

I was xbox only for many years and the ps5 (bought in feb) is my first since ps2.And since SX is a little low on content currently,i deeply enjoy playing ps5 exclusives or the best from ps4 with 4k/60 the first time.Lot to do til the“next gen“ really starts. And finally i‘m able to play WIPEOUT again. No,no regrets here…

I‘m in a similar boat like others though.Spent way more than a 1k on DD Pro+McLaren wheel plus seat and wheelstand only for GT.But now i play racing games on both consoles with wheel (also got ACC) and i‘ll never be able to do it on controller again. It‘s THAT much more fun to me.

Fanatec wheels have been nerfed in the latest release making them ****.
Not a good look for Fanatec and so they should be concerned.
Fanatec has absolutely nothing to do with it,blame PD…

Yep. Glad I didn't buy a ps5 for gt7. It would've been the only reason I would. Right now, because of the state of gt7, I will not be buying a ps5 at all.

I would buy a ps5 for an ac2 release though...

You failed utterly Sony.

This is definitely not Fanatec’s fault. I imagine they won‘t be happy to inevitably be inundated with DD Pro users asking why their wheel stopped working overnight. Coupled with all the QC problems they already have.
As someone that spent a lot on the racing hardware I feel tremendously let down honestly as the game is pretty much unplayable at the moment due to the FFB being broken,

Not at all. My PS4 had broke so it was a case of natural progression albeit sooner than I was anticipating.

As for GT7 been out of the loop on it since maybe GT5 (was deeply involved with the GT4 however) so was not really down with where things stood with GT in general. Must say it was a pleasant surprise that GT7 dropped about 6 weeks after getting my PS5 as it was laying dormant really until that point.

I bought it initially in anticipation of the new PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) as I'm part of an online league for that game. Guys complain about GT7.. damn, you need to see the state of PES aka eFootball ( or €Football if you will :D) - that is now in a state of unashamed money-grabbing ruthlessness.

I'm quite the opposite regarding GT7 I'm balancing up investing in a wheel/rig. I've definitely got the itch for it..

I got my ps5 a year earlier than when gt7 launched. Despite some complaints on gt7, I still find it very exhilarating and a very enjoyable racing game to play. You probably had too high expectation on this game and were a little too impulsive on buying a steering.

Good news is, there are other games you can use the wheel with.

No regrets on buying a PS5 because of GT7. I do regret buying GT7 though. Most disappointing game I've ever bought. I keep waiting for an update that improves it, but have resigned myself to it never coming. Nearly bought a new wheel to play it, so at least I've saved some money there.

Well, with all the complaints i too have with this game…i just hit the 20k km mark,200 sport races and 200h playtime (no real grind but i did play quite a bit the 4 races, that gives good money). There still must be something it DOES right.I can forget many flaws when sitting behind the wheel riding a track. And now they managed to take this feel away (for now at least) 💩

and,of course, the AI pulls me back into the grey reality often enough.

Don't regret buying my PS5 because I bought it for a lot more games (next gen and Sony exclusives) than just GT7.

If I had bought the PS5 just because of GT7... Yeah, I would have regrets for sure.

However, it's still a matter of perspective. If you are a hardcore racer who likes to just play racing and driving games, have a wheel setup and whatnot, GT7 is actually a very good game for those kinds of people, as it has plenty enough cars to experience (could've had a lot more, but still a decent amount regardless), a nice amount of tracks (just like the cars, could've been more) and it's driving physics while not Assetto Corsa level or true Sim level, they are still a lot better than most other console racing games. Plus the custom race feature allows you to just have an unlimited driving experience with and against several different cars.
Then there's the Sport mode, which on the upper skill bracket, is highly competitive, certainly better than most other racing games out there on this aspect.

For the more casual player however, those who just want events made by the developers to complete, to have a nice career experience on a driving/racing game, the game just doesn't deliver at all... And this isn't even compared to the competition, but compared to their own line-up of the past.

I for example, completed the game within the first 2 weeks or so after the game launched. I had to wait until the end of April to do some more events, which again, only took me like 3 days to complete, and from there... waiting again until the end of May to, a-****-gain, complete the extra events in 2-3 days. Now I have to wait until the next month to play some more added content.
Worst of all, some features introduced on this game that I have yet to experience due to absolutely horrid game design decisions.
The back and forth updates that either fix or destroy things, lobbies in online mode... the dirt tyres fiasco on licenses and missions, now we have the FFB of wheels completely ruined...

All combined it just doesn't give the experience we expected from a Gran Turismo game.

Come on man, why in the bloody hell can we still NOT SELL CARS!!!? WHY!???

I’m glad I never got a PS5, but not because I’m incredibly displeased with GT7. Rather, I just never saw myself getting a whole new system just for one game, especially when said game is not only also available on PS4, but even has cross-play with the PS5 version anyway. Sure, you probably have much faster loading times and better graphics, but I don’t see that being worth $500.

That said, I will say that GT7 has an awful lot of potential at the moment, and I hope it’s realized sooner than later.

Since the very beginning I think it's all his fault. For this and many other things.
Hermen Hulst.
I believe he's the one wanting to push microtransactions ($$$$) to the max. Imposing PD to not let players sell cars for in-game credits (at least for now) will induce at least some (casuals, noobs, dumb people) to get in-game credits with real money.
I say "some", but in reality they might be a lot, to bring cash in Sony's pockets.

It is! I mean, not necessarily for GT7 alone, but as someone that was happy with my old PC, then spend 4× the cost of a PS5 on a new PC, going back to the old one now (which I still do most days) is absolutely tortuous!!! It's really easy to get used to the faster times without noticing, until you go back to how it was!

I bought a PS5, GT7 and G29 solely to play GT7. I don’t regret it. In fact, it’s probably the most fun I’ve had racing, and I’ve been on since GT3 20 years ago. I do daily races semi regularly, but the biggest fun factor has been joining a league and connecting with real people. Practicing in lobbies a few nights a week, racing Monday nights, and chatting on discord everyday about GT, tuning, cars, lap guides, BBQ, the weather, family, life…

I bought a PS5 mainly for GT7 but since it wasn't out when I got it I ended finding a bunch of PS4 and PS5 games that l enjoy playing. But if you only bought a PS5 to play GT7 on then yeah you wasted your money.
Yeah I mean when I buy the ps5, I'm gonna play maybe 30-40 games on it, but it was your decision. Maybe you can sell your ps5 to someone if you're not satisfied with gt7. Or maybe buy another game to make you happier.

Unless you don't have a working PS4, I don't see any point in spending $700 on a console, who's game library consists of mostly cross gen titles at the moment.

Let alone paying that much money for just one cross-gen racing game.

I tried out some games on the PS5 and aside from the better loading times & somewhat better performance, it ain't worth it in my opinion. Maybe after 6 months or so when proper current gen only games starts coming out but right now? Not really.

Maybe I'm saying this becaue i already own a $2K PC that i built 2 years ago, one that thankfully is still kinda decent enough.

Got a PS5 when it came out, not just for GT7, but for games like Ratchet and Clank.
Been mostly playing GT7 on my PS4 Pro over my PS5. Do I regret the game? A little as it seems to be like the early GT Sport and gives me a lot of vibes with that. A game only released in part with the rest coming out later, being drip fed.
I do play it time to time on my PS5, but found myself slower on it for some reason.
