I accidentally deleted the game save of GT5!!!
A spec level 34
B spec level 37
Almost ALL Golds

I recovered the game save files with a PC program called easyrecovery:

param.pfd
param.sfo
icon0.png
pic1.png

trying to load the game says invalid data

Any idea?

I think it's the anti duping gods, you might be SOL. best of luck but i leave my save data untouched, that's the easiest method of prevention, unfortunately i can't be of much assistance

Use the Salvage Option in the game.

Word of advice for everyone backing up gamesave: Use 2 USB to copy save data. One is for everyday/ every time you done playing the game and one is for backing up every few days. That way if you accidentally delete one, you won't have to start over.

Or just copy your latest save to PC every few days or whatever.

hm, i don´t really see the point to back up the save data. i didn´t do this with any of my games and never had a broken save on my ps3. sure... IF the hdd crashes i´m back in stoneage, but i can´t consider any other reasons the save could be in pieces.

The save is locked to your PSN account. Only way you can play his save on your PS3 is if you put his PSN account on your console, and sign on under his name. But I doubt your friend would be very happy if you did that

you CANNOT use another person's save data. save data is associated with PSN ID so you cannot use anyone else's. someone in another thread said it's possible if you are a hacker but i am not and that person said he wouldn't give up the info either. so all i can say is sorry, but it's back to the beginning. at least this time around you know what you need to do.

You need to search for 'jaibreak PS3' if you really don't mind the risk of screwing up your PS3 or possibly getting banned from online.

I think I deleted my save data from GT5P after I sold the game. Heck, I tried numerous times trying to import my garage from GT5P to GT5 because it wouldn't let me. But back to the topic...

Can anyone please P/M me the instructions on how to back up my existing data and store it on my PSN account (only if it's possible)?! This way, I can stay safe even in the worst case scenarios like this. powerdrome: I am deeply sorry to hear about your epic loss. Keep driving and never give up.

OP, you're presuming that the recovered files were complete.

If you're trying to put them back into the same account from which they were originally sourced then there should be no problem. It sounds as if one of the parts that make up the save context might have had some (or all) of its clusters overwritten by something else.

My friend has never duped and got £15k put into his bank account by Sony for virtuous behaviour. True story bro.

The level of trolling in 2011 is pretty low.
