Guilty too, but just aorund 5 of my 93 liveries shared (I have more that I don't share because I feel they not pass the quaility proof :D) :

I'm only a little annoyed by bad liveries that are already there and 90-100% accurate. What's the point of doing a livery that already exists in the game and got it's "fame"?
Itashas are really cool and there are lots of liveries around that look absolutely stunning. tbh I actually run the Goodsmile Racing livery on three of four cars

While I've more or less expected all the typical paint tropes, the ones that tend to annoy me are the poor attempts at F1 liveries on cars that are not even F1 cars. I've seen so many examples where someone did not at all grasp how different the car at is from the source material.

As for me, I'm abit guilty with energy drinks as I pretty much have got the big three covered (Red Bull, Monster, Rockstar) so that person its probably gonna hate me

However, I tried to differentiate mine from usual ones:

I like to do classic liveries but with a twist, I have my own version of the original Porsche RSR livery but it’s silver instead of white for example

i never want to see another can of monster energy drink or red bull in my life
i've never had a monster, i assume it taste like mountain dew syrup. And i haven't had a redbull in probably 15 years, since i was 21 and had it with alcohol. that stuffs gross!

For me, it's the anime, and poorly done replicas that are nowhere near the real thing. Maybe some of mine aren't the best, but i don't really try to make exact replicas, i tend to go for tributes of vintage race cars i grew up with.

Edit : And I forgot rusty buses/cars !

See, i love making my ferrari's look destroyed, i'd like the think i'm pissing off some social media manager and will get a cease and desist letter in the mail any day now

Now with a f1 style car. There will be nearly every f1 livery from every year. Cool as it sounds, may get a little annoying.

The three things that bug me:
1) Plain colour 'livery' uploads. No-one doubts that you are capable of hitting "paint all" and selecting blue chrome.
2) Mis-tagged liverys (or no tags at all)
3) Clashing sponsors (Michelin and Bridgestone for example)

Completely agree with the oversaturation problem too. Yes, iconic liverys are going to be well represented and rightly so, but it gets to the point that its is very hard to find the best one. Maybe (not a serious suggestion, but a daydream) maybe there could be a system where once 20 versions are available, the "worst" version gets removed so that we only see the 20 most accurate option.

The question then is, who chooses which livery is good/bad? You can‘t rely on likes/reposts as I‘ve seen tons of terrible liveries that got heaps of #fame. And somebody manually checking every duplicate livery is an impossible task. I‘d just force at least one tag and if the uploader choose „replica“ he should maybe select a year, series, main sponsor or anything other to identify what it‘s based of. If it‘s something already in existance you‘d get a note about it already being there. But thinking of that most people won‘t care anyways or you would end up with being unable to find the most accurate one.
When the F1 car dropped I was the first to make the 91 Jordan 191 of Michael Schumacher and therefore even went around making/downloading/modifying some logos and uploading them into the game. My livery now has almost 1000 likes and I already found two or three minor flaws that I updated for myself but didn‘t share as there are now 50 (more than less bad) versions of the livery and nobody would care anyway.

So, what liveries or themes seems to be overdone/done to the death it's getting boring for you?

I'll get a quick list from my observation:
Rothmans liveries (#GTSLivery on Twitter was full of this, to the point there's an all-Rothmans livery race by Japanese players using the hashtag)
Ayrton Senna cars (especially now with the F1500T-A being here)
Paul Walker/F&F cars
Castrol Toyota liveries

Anything else that fits the "done to death" category?
Overdone? For me the 99%. In a game where people are only able to make replicas livery is normal that after a few mounth everything look overdone. I miss so much original paint, btw my list is:
-Rothmans livery
-ROWE Bmw M6
-F1 cars
-Every energy drink livery
-VR46 livery
-Akka Asp team Mercedes
-Barwell motorsport Z4
ecc. ecc...

About reposting, its clear that the only way to have visibility is reposting every s**t, and this is sad, the search button don't works at all. I'm tired to see only sly users taht make succes is this way, and also people are guilty, some of the most liked livery are garbage. This is a lack of culture.
The game have to change and copy from microsoft and turn10, where you can search livery for download or rating, and not only the latest. And in the main page the game make a livery contest every week and give visibility to the better painters. This is a meritocracy way

A good livery is a good livery, doesn't matter if its been done before so long as its accurate and suits the vehicle, I'm a stickler for detail so I'll look over them with a fine tooth comb ha ha, a good example is that red on black R390 Nissan tribute, absolutely epic.

What I dislike that is overdone isn’t the liveries themselves. But the creator reposting his own livery to get more likes! Hillarious! I mean, it’s cool when people repost your stuff, but doing it yourself is kinda lame...

*Did my livery suck or did I post it at the wrong time?.. 10 likes...Must repost to get more affection*

I like/hate people who ask for reposts in comments of other peoples liveries

I've no problem with people making the same liveries, but its when they do a half arsed version, that goes on to be the most popular.

For example. For all the Falken liveries people upload, only 5-10% are acutally any good. Most have the wrong colours, the wrong shaped or wrong number of scallops or no scallops at all (just a fade from teal to blue).

Same goes for most other liveries. People do replicas of cars yet use the wrong period correct decals if its an older car.
I decided against making any Falken liveries specifically because I couldn't figure out the number of scallops or the right colors. And out of the few liveries I've actually uploaded, they've mostly been original creations aside from my Gulf Beetle and an Audi TT LM replica. I may end up go looking for the period correct decals on my Jagermeister 911. I usually prefer to put some real effort into the liveries I publicly show off.

I'm guilty of that except the reposts are actually not identical.

Haha yeah reminds me of blogging. I do however ask if the person wants to look at my livery IF I made a similar one and want him to know I made one, but I only ask for a look, not a like/repost. Only happens if it’s a livery I’m damn proud of. :D hahaha

Ive done that before. Suggested they look, never asked someone that they repost. Best asking chronic reposters for that. Think theres one on mine who constantly reposts itasha cars.

I'm somewhat guilty as I've created Gulf liveries for my 911/Cayman and a JPS for the F1500. They may not be great, but I've seen a lot worse (usually with more likes than mine)!

I guess many people just want to make their own version of some of the more iconic liveries. Though their quality control or attention to detail may be somewhat lacking.

When doing liveries i try not to do the popular liveries. i have done a couple, A Panasonic Toyota for example. i try to get liveries from other series. the BTCC, ETCC the french super touring car championship and who knew that their was a Costa Rican touring car championship. Their are so many great liveries from lesser known motorsport series.

I tend to follow people that can create good liveries in the first place. They tend to repost better work than most. Then I can check out the gallery of the reposted person and see if there is anything I like there! I can make my own good designs, but on occasion someone will do something that I will never try to replicate, but I feel is cool enough to go on my car. There will be so many F1 liveries out there that I may never do one. As a livery creator you just can't help but do your own version of some major livery cars!

This whole post so goddamn much. There's a Renown LM55 and Impreza Rally Car that use the standard GT Sport font for the "Renown" and "Subaru" decals respectively, and yet are the most popular simply by virtue of being the first. There's also that Marlboro 458 livery that greets you every time you load up Discover and have seen it many times in lobbies already, and it doesn't even have the right typeface for the main sponsor! It should be noted, not to insult him or anything, that the guy responsible for that livery has made many mentioned in this thread, from F&F replicas to Martini Porsches and Gulf McLarens/Fords.

As for me, I've made Sauber and Jordan liveries for a year that wasn't covered by most people who initially painted the F1500T-A; 1996. I've also done a Jagermeister Eurobrun but other than those, my work is mostly as obscure as it gets.

I may want to make an F1 livery replica of some sort for the F1500 but I'm not sure what. Most of those bases are covered. Maybe I'll do something original. Nice Jägermeister Beetle though. I have made such a livery myself but it wasn't for the Beetle.

I loved being able to search for specific years once the F1500 had been released and I definitely think it suits the 80s/90s era liveries. You will always get people making the same livery over and over because it's fun and has that nostalgic feel.

My favourite thing to do on the livery editor is create a new themed livery for an FIA season for both cars based on either brands that fit the colour scheme or brands that link well together. Kind of a fun thing to pretend I have my own racing team with a unique layout and I hope others like racing against a car with different livery. I always get sad when I enter a race and 90% of the field are using the standard livery for the car.

I find liveries featuring other games' logos and designs to be very overdone and out-of-place, especially if they are just for showcasing.
