DLC info inside - how will Spec II effect drifters?

Obviously not, otherwise you would just join other people to use the track without paying.
Well what's the point in a track if your team can't even use it?

Perhaps lobbies that are using DLC tracks will only be accessible by people who have the DLC.

I never play offline, it would be a great waste if you can't use them online in SOME way.

Again, obviously yes. If you have paid for the DLC, you can join, if not then you can't.

Want more drifting DLC content?

It's simple, it's all about statistics. Only 30% of GT 5 players drift and even less than that number drift regularly. PD looks at the number of online rooms labeled as "drift" rooms and they look at how many players participate in the Seasonal Drift Event. Now I know the scoring system sucks but more people participating in this event would show PD that there IS a large amount of GT Drifters and they would be more inclined to create DLC content to meet that need.

Do you have proof that this happens?

But the Kart track layout doesnt even look all that spectacular... Too many straights.

That MX-5 looks awesome and will be a sweet looking car going sideways!!!

My stock looking one is pretty good to slide already so definitely will be getting that one.

The karting track looks cool but the bank curve on the big loop won't lend itself to drifting that much when the track is so small I reckon.

Motorsport land from GT2 or GT4, whichever one it was would have been much nicer to see back as well as lots of the older tracks but I'm sure we might get them in time.

Having Spa is pretty epic though! Looking forward to racing up through Eau Rouge and drifting the mid section.

Taken from the GT website -
"A variety of DLC (paid downloadable content) provided for the first time by Gran Turismo(Starting from 18 Oct 2011)"

'Starting from' being the key phrase, so maybe they're not done yet?

Good catch. but we'll probably have to wait another 11 months.

Is it just me or kart space tracks remind me of rainbow road from mario kart. Spa will be awesome. Hopefully kart space will be a selection in track editor like tokyo bay???

hopefully i was thinking about this earlier

I was keeping myself quiet and only tell after see the feature itself, but now i can confirm: The new online lobbie features are the best thing so far for us drifters. Because now we can rid off all AWDs... isnt that awsome?

Changing subject, i would like to speak with Jesus (also known as DrifterzZ). I guess the thread title is not right, because its focoused mostly about DLCs... and is also important to discuss the 2.0 features and how we can share our experiences using our creativity. So i ask, if possible, not keep the title focous on the DLCs (actual and future) only.

It's already a thread for anything 2.0 update and even a disappointing 2.0 update thread. This thread is to just show us what's coming up in the next DLC.

This thread, incase it wasnt blatantly obvious, is to discuss the effects of the DLC on the drift community, the other threads about the 2.0 is just the community in general and involves alot of hate. Here, we can discuss drifting with the DLC/2.0 and not have to worry about the hate.

Oh yes:
Space kart is NOT a course creator track

Its just like any other track, 8 corners, total length of 764m

How are we gonna play the DLC tracks online? Will people who don't have the DLC be able to join the lobby, or will we not be able to use them online at all?

EDIT: I just found out from the same source that we can't use regular cars on the kart track... sorry guys

Alright calm down dear  and thats basically a huge bummer for everyone. Forza anyone?

I've just been really really bored of GT5 with a DS3. Hopefully the DLC cars will make me happy for a while.

If you've been bored on GT5 for drifting then play Dirt 3. Its a fun break from the GT5 norm.

No i'm alright, I'd rather spend my little money on half decent things.

Hahahaha! I'm getting the full pack when it comes out on Tuesday. All cars (apart from X2011) Just seem to be RM. I want to start drifting the Evo X RM

-cradles head in hands- Oh dear lord....

I reckon just about everyone (Well, those that drift FR) will end up drifting the RX7 or the Miata. They both look brilliant.

honestly the dlc I think isn't going to be any use to us drifters, there is still yet a lack of features and the cars that are coming are mostly a bunch of race cars.

The nissans on the dlc come on the screen in SPEC II opening movie, both drifting insanely nice. 👍
