"Regarding the DLC usage for multiple accounts,"
"Were planning an another update for GT5 in December. In that update users who purchased cars and tracks from the DLC already,"
"-can receive a free family upgrade in the PS Store, which will let all users in the same PS console use the DLC."
"And though we looked into this, unfortunately theres no solution for crossing multiple regions."
"Im sorry, but we have to ask you to match the region of your disc and your PSN account setting."
"People who bought the DLC cars will have those cars added to the dealers in the December update."
"After this December update you can purchase a second car and so on from the dealer."
Great news. I have to admit I was a bit sceptical about Sony or PD doing something about it, as this impacts directly on profits (IMO they will sell more DLC by fixing this mess, but things could be seen different from a corporate point of view)
My concern was just about the region stuff. Please help me understand this tweets:
- Region alignment should be between GT5 disc and psn purchasing PSN account. Lets say you have a US GT5 disc, you must buy the DLC at the US store.
- Problem persists for people who bought the DLC at a store from a country which region does not match where the disc belongs.
Then: (this is the key contradiction I found in tweets)
a) As you can share DLC between all users in the same PS3, once the add-ons are downloaded, it doesn't matter anymore if your accounts are from several countries. Then that part of the region problem should be solved, as long as the family upgrade is downloaded from the original purchasing account.
b) If family upgrade must be obtained by accesing the PSN store from each individual account in the PS3, then accounts from countries with no store would still not be able to make DLC work.
What do you think? Which is more likely to happen, a or b?
