Yes, for me this DLC story looks really odd too.
I don't see myself buying this DLC, at least as long as it stay this way.
Only one of each car, same for paint chips, for only one account and for the price it is.
But I think its not easy to imagine that a company the size of PD/Sony did not intended it to, say, try to make more profit.
Although at the same time, just like you stated, GT5 since its launch has been a somewhat odd product:
Some considerable delays, clearly unfinished product, this awful way, in my opinion, of handling exclusive content: what is exclusive now, may tomorrow be available for free to repair their mistakes... etc, etc, etc.
All this cast doubt whether the guys at PD/Sony in charge of GT5 have competence enough to provide a finished and tested product or not
Just to state: I usually play GT5 and like it.
But nonetheless I see its awkward strangeness.
Just yesterday while I was doing some time trial I realized, again, that up to this day the time boards don't work as I think most of us would think they should. The time boards don't really regard which car you used, only times, which means they record only the top times, which eventually will end up being with the same cars, the fastest ones.
Say I want to record my fastest time in Nür with a Samba Bus; not possible anymore for me, since the boards are all filled up with my fastest times using more potent cars.
The only option available ingame for me to solve this problem:
clear the time board completely!!
Which competent racing game developer would suggest this?
Oh come on guys at PD, with all respect for the hard work that I know you've done, do you guys really know what you're doing?
And when I think about all the complexity that may be involved in GT5 which the developers have done, these kind of 'simple' missing features looks really awkward...
(please someone correct me if I'm missing a way to solve this time boards issue)
