Personally, I'm lucky enough to not miss a few pounds. To me the time spent gifting/trading or buying cars in game for more matte and chrome paints is more expensive than a real life money. But I appreciate that everyone's situation is different.
And yes, you get all the cars in the pack. They appear as tickets in your car delivery section.

Logging on and duping 5 paints takes about 10 minutes. Including starting the game up twice, copying and restoring a save data file and gifting the 5 paints.
And you can only do it once a day.
So it takes about 1 hour to get 6x15=90 paints.
I can get 100 paints for £1.59 and I get paid more than £1.59 an hour at work.
So for me it's cheaper to buy the paints that dupe them. And I still get the 10 login paints everyday anyway.
To be honest, I've spent more time writing these posts than it takes to earn to money required to buy the paints.
By all means, if you still think it's too expensive, then don't buy them. I was just saying that I think otherwise.

The paint items are new colors. You're not getting 100 paints from GT5.

The new suits are also (mostly) new models so anyone can be a black Stig.

I doubt you'll be allowed to race online in the tracks if you didn't buy them.

Touring Prius alone is worth $12.

lol at this, the DLC is locked to the person who purchased the DLC, its an activation ticket not a download and therefore doesnt show up in downloads section, sorry buddy but your out of luck I think.

no its because of fun, i only go to buy spa (included the kart tracks but i know i wont use them by my self... the other stuff is really a rip off

If u r only buying for Spa, it's a waste. I played on Spa all night last night and I am in the US. I even played both Kart tracks, the only thing I could see might be worth it would be the Cars & Suits. But from what I'm hearing on hear from people the cars don't seem to be game breakers and if you 'tune them up' they can't be repurchased from the dealership, you have to repurchase the DLC. I'm not a big suit and helmet hoarder so really the suits don't interest me. I was excited to get the paint, but only one chip and they can't be traded??

Well, it's either that or don't buy the pack. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge GT fan, have been since even before GT1 came out. I still remember watching the official trailer for GT1 and almost pissing myself it looked so good. I just feel this DLC is not worth it.

I got it because you get 100 paint chips, not just one. Plus the cars and suits etc for no in game credits and no time cost.
Plus, and most importantly, I got the proper Stig suit!
Yes you can race Spa and the kart track online but it's nice to do one make races against the AI drivers too.
You can also pay for each section separately so I got another 100 paint chips for £1.59.

Yes u get 100 chips, but you only get 1 of each chip, meaning if you want to paint your stable in all one color chrome, you have to buy the paint pack for every car you wish to paint, and again if you want the wheels to match. So like if I want a series of cars in blue chrome, and I don't want the pink chrome, I can't even trade them out.

This was my plan for the paint pack, but from what I'm hearing you can't send the paints. If you want 5 on one chip, you have to buy the DLC paint pack 5 times.

Ok, so if I can just join a room with someone who is running the track, and we only get one usable paint chip, and the cars can't be bought, what's the point of buying the DLC? I may wait but I was defiantly going to buy it before.

Also, I have made a European account when the BF3 beta came out, D/L & installed it, then went back to my reg North American account and played it. Will that work here?

ok so I am still hosting a room i got from some Japanese guys who left. My friends joined and asked me to turn rain off, but my track says 0% and it won't let me change any options on the weather. I'm guessing cuz I don't have DLC, but why do I not have rain and they do? Very odd.

You will need to download the track to play online.

wrong my friend, I played it all night last night and I live in the US, i just found a Japan room playing it and joined up. I even hosted it for several hours after they left. I could not control weather, but to me it wasn't raining, but for others who joined it was.

Did you not even read the quote you posted??

I do however need it to OPEN a room using those tracks, or to vote on them. But i can join any room playing them and play there with no issue.

Its already on your console if you have spec 2, just not unlocked until you purchase.

everyone has already downloaded the track in the 2.0 update, you just need to buy the DLC to authorize you can host it.

I thought at first that it was working the same as the track creator tracks, just downloading it on the fly, but after reading posts on here I see what's going on.

Now that I have to wait to the 25th, which by the way is the release date for BF3, and hearing about all the dissapointment here, I am seriously reconsidering not purchasing it. The biggest lure for me was the new tracks, well track, Spa more precisely, Kart tracks are just lolz. But I don't even need to buy it to run on Spa, or even host it if I hang out in a room long enough.

I bought it for the Cars, to own the tracks for me and some casual GT friends and for the Suzuki race suit.

To have new tracks and cars offline as well as online to host. Race suits, helemt and paint should definitely be free but overall package is ok for PS+ member there is some discount as well.

Also they may disable the online mode in next update for those who have not purchased the DLC.

With the revealing of how cars can't be rebought and you get 1 of each paint, I've decided to skip the pack. Also it is notable that Sony delayed the NA release to when BF3 comes out.
