Do you like SSR5's updated scenery?

At the moment SSR7 is only good for top speed runs. I'm sure they could connect it up with something else though

I'm pretty sure SSR7 is based off one of those Japanese Free-way's, of which are known for street racing in real life.

I think it could be a great track if it had more scenery and maybe an option to take different routes. It is most likely set around Tokyo or something.

Both tracks need updating, especially SSR7.

Some of the best photos I've seen are from the tunnel in SS7!
I understand photomode probably isn't everyone's cup of tea, but just felt like putting that out there :0

Especially the entrance to the tunnel after the 2nd hairpin and the exit to the left just after it.

While crowds give you the feeling like you're being cheered on the lifelessness gives it more of that Midnight Club Wangan sort of illegal thing which is also awesome.

JUST DON'T LITTER THE PLACE WITH STUPID YELLOW VANS....

Bland? Heck no. I like the middle-of-the-night feel to it. I personally really enjoy the track that aren't a defined race course. They give you that feel of simply driving on the roads than just racing all the time.

Also, they're good for photos.

I think it looks a lot more realistic, like an actual city. 👍 But the removal of the grandstands makes it feel a little lifeless. :nervous:

This

I agree... SSR5 GT5's incarnation looks very good, but where are the grandstands???? It indeed feels lifeless... what's the point of racing if there is no public??? No one who cheers... :nervous:

Is it just me or on replays I'm getting a lot of 'pop-in' on this track.

Also, I honestly didn't notice anything had changed.

Had to go look up some youtube vids of ssr5 in gt4. (been so long since ive played it.) and i like the new one much better. just dont like the grey sky.

I liked the sky and background in the GT4 version much more than the new one.
GT5 SSR5 although in some ways feels more realistic, still seems "off" in several ways (the road layout doesn't make much sense for example. Is it supposed to be a one-way express road? I guess that's a compromise made in order to keep the original layout. SSR7 is more coherent on this aspect).

Also, as I wrote in other threads, it feels like a ghost city, static. Grandstands are there, but they're empty, in the dark. No blinking lights, empty background (it almost looks like SSR5 is in a desert island), no sign of life.

Doesn't SSR5 from this video immediately look better despite the lower detail? To me it does:

Mixed feelings for me, really. I like how they've tried to make the road layout make a little more sense, rather than a freeway with no way off but the scenery and lighting of the GT4 version was much better. When I heard we were getting day/night transitions, I was hoping I would finally get to see SSR5 in the day too!

Guys, You make me notice the City is grow up!

let's compare the videos

Thank you, you've just made me realise why I don't like it in this game. While the aspect of it being a deserted city is true, it doesn't feel the way it should. It doesn't feel like street-racing at night when there's no authority to tell you otherwise, it feels like you're driving round a lifeless place that's abandoned. There's lights on in all the office buildings but there doesn't seem to be any signs of life in the buildings and that's what's lacking. You look at SSR5 in GT4/GT3 and SSR11 in GT3, yeah it was at night in a city with empty, closed off roads but it still felt like an event. GT5's street/night tracks don't do that.

I love the new look and hope they don't revert back to the way it was.

And i too love the sound of the road joins along the motorway section - neat wee touch. :)

I think they aren't loud enough - according to my real life driving experience. They should also upset the car a bit more.
Same for cobblestones in Rome circuit, but that's probably off-topic here.

I think GT3 "wet" version is best! :)

Nostalgia FTW.

The new look is meh. Looks better for a race on the highways of Tokyo. But the grand prix atmosphere is completely vanished. The changes are debatable to say the least, but count me in the neutral side.

Well, I like the way that it looks like a simple race track in the middle of a sleeping night... the deserted sections are cool...they feel more menacing... dunno how to explain but I like the new feel...

I the other hand I understand that it just look like the SSR5 after the race, when people are sleeping :P

According to GT5 info in online races while selecting track options, races at SSR5 are held at 21:40. Late evening, not deep night.

I like it but sometimes I feel it's a bit dull and lifeless as you say. The best city tracks aren't in the game:yuck:

I don't really like it. The city seems deserted without crowds of people being there like in the previous 4 games.
