I thought we already had it. Isn't that why one AI car always finishes 50 seconds ahead of all the rest?

What if I told you..

..PD don't give a damn about simulating proper racing.

They could have made that in GT5 already, at least dual class LMP and GT but no, they prefer the "lame random mix".
What about old Jaguars running against SuperGT's? The most lame combination ever, and that's only the tip of the iceberg.
As long as you buy their stuff they won't bother offering anything more than you actually have.

If you want multiclass racing online go subscribe to Iracing, if you want to race offline go with rFactor's Enduracers mod and learn about rFactor. That's all, until Assetto Corsa release.

Keeping hopes up with PD is a lost cause. I believe it when I see it Kaz, for now I just LOL at you and at your lame all fruits mix.

Slightly OT:
and this is what gpfan (a modder) is capable of:

That's for you Kaz, Nissan GT-R GT3 version.
We will have the this car in rFactor before Gran Turismo. :)
See ya.

Before implementing mixed classes, why not start by implementing classes at all?

Right now all AI cars are raced stock, they don't tune the cars to fit the regulations for the race they're taking part in. It makes sense in the lower series, but in the higher series everyone must have a car that's tuned to the limits of what the regulations allow, or it's just gonna be a joke. So fix that first, and then they can implement mixed classes in the endurance races (and please remove the LMP's from Nürburgring 24H, they should not go anywhere near that race).

I think the grid needs to increase before classes would get implemented.

In a grid of 16, and let's say 4 classes competing, would only give us 4 cars per class, which I think is not enough to garner excitement in a 24 hour enduro.

On a track like Nürburgring (okay, bad example, there are no tracks like Nürburgring...) it would probably take somewhere around 50 cars to keep the race exciting (4 classes with 12-13 cars in each class?). As it is in GT5 it's 10% racing and 90% time trial, you rarely see another car on the track. In that sense it would be great to have mixed classes, because if you are in the fastest class you will be passing slower cars on each lap (apart from the very first ones, obviously), and if you're in the slowest class you'll be passed by faster cars on each lap. There will almost certainly be cars in the pit during most of the race, so it's not gonna appear as desolate as it does now every time you pit in for fuel.
