What do you think?

I believe so. I have heard some rumors around the GM community that there is something in the works for a few years down the road.

This is just rumors and are not meant to be taken trurthfully. I'll let you know as I find out more.

this is sorta like with the RX-7...

I believe that the Camero will come back, probably under a different name, maybe a version of another car(like what is rumored with the RX-7, where supposedly the RX-7 will be a 2 door, sleeker RX-8, and turbo or twin turbo Renesis engined).

I haven't heard anything about names

One of the reasons the Camaro stopped selling was because the name 'Camaro' was associated with the 1980's-era. Thirty-somethings who might be into cars like the Camaro refused to buy it because the name conjured up 'uncool' memories.

Firebird is a different story, Pontiac might keep that name.

That said, my 56-year-old neighbor bought one a few months ago, but he's probably just in a midlife crisis.

wont the GTO (based on holden's monaro) replace the trans-am???

i never really liked the trans am,but the camaro i do like the older ones 1967 etc.....

the new camaros are crap, but i think they will come out again,as for the trans-am they suck, and will not come back....

the camaro will do the same thing as dodge i think, the charger was stopped in 1970's,and the new charger will be coming out in late 2003.....

so im guessin the camaro will be back out in 2010????

My uncle has a 1999 Trans Am. He's 52 and he loves driving it.

Also this guy I know says that they won't bring the Camaro or Firebird back because they sucked to much and no one bought them. But he was the same one who said that a Mustang is better then a Camaro/TA/FB.

Speaking of midlife crisis...this is scary...my dad more and more says that he wants a Corvette. First it was the silver one, now it's black, and he is talking about it more and more...

Don't do it dad!!!

Mazda better release a turbocharged or just faster RX-7 quick before he gets a Corvette.

It doesn't matter what people say, the Trans Am or Ram Air vehicles are literally incredible machines. Remember, the price/horsepower rating on these cars is around $85 to 1 horsepower, making it lower than any car for sale on Earth.

I believe that Chevrolet won't let the coupe market go untouched and dominated by the Solara, Mustang, and Accord Coupe for more than five years. Look for a new Camaro (or some form of replacement) by 2007 - my guess? 2004/Model Year 2005.

ah tell him to get the Vette. You can't be a one sided car company family. We have a Chevy, Ford, Chysler, and Mitsu.

I don't know any man over forty who doesn't want a Corvette.

Though I find it hard to believe your dad would turn his back on Mazda.

Hey man - no one can beat me. I'm only 25 and I've owned three Toyotas, a Nissan, a Land Rover, a Mercury, a Mercedes, and an Audi.

I really like them. I don't know anyone whos like me who wouldn't love to own a Trans Am

I like the T/A's styling. The Ram Air is the one I've got the problem with; it looks like it's got nostrils. Even so...one hell of a car.

and looks aren't every thing

In this segment, no - looks are hardly everything. Remember, these are PREFORMANCE cars. You can not judge them even for a quarter of what they're worth until you've driven them.

In some segments - British subcompacts, where all cars have generally the same power output an fuel economy statistics, comes to mind - looks are just about everything, though.

Well I'm sure if I modded a Trans Am to be equal to that then it would smoke it.

Wait lets not argue over the Trans Am and Mustang I have a different thread for this.

i love my mustang,others are ****,i love my dad's challenger,others are better.....

i guess its a mateer of being in the car itself,i used to hate mustangs, but i got one,its the onlky one a like,i hate trans-ams ridden in one,not at all exciting, but i do like the power,i guess yes its ugly, but powerful.... ;)

well, you would do the same:

Lets see:

We get a big discount on the car.
Maintainence is totally free.
Parts are very cheap.
We know everything about the cars.

There are a ton of other reasons, and most everyone would do the same if they were in our situation.

Go with what you know. We know Mazdas, we buy Mazdas...

It makes sense. It Just Feels Right.

Ok if you want to debate this lets take it to my thread about this topic. This is just about if you think they will bring back the street rod of the T/A and Camaro.
