Do you write stories?

I would rather not let this go to the high end producers - as crazy as that sounds - because I want it to be my own original work.

Edit: Do any of you wanna give me a hand with composing this? I'm suddenly feeling way over my head on this.
I completely understand that. Media is a VERY large and, well complicated. Take it as a compliment. ;)

And I would be glad to lend my hand in some free time. 👍 Shoot me a PM.

Will do!

I'm putting the Walking Dead based story on hold now. It's hard to put it into a story where the world is already created by someone else. I'm afraid i'll messed up the timeline or the logic of the universe that it wouldn't be like a Walking Dead story.

I do not write many stories, although I occasionally think of a scenario in my head that would seem to be a good book.
THIS

It's really hard for me to put it into words, or to take the time to really write it out.

Right now i ended up making a synopsis for the stories that i have in my head to make the basis so i can work my way up from there. R.L. Stine said that he creates the synopsis of each chapters from his book before really working on it. It helps him avoids writers block. Just try it if you have those specific scenarios.

I'm trying to write simple stories now, i have the idea in my head but i'm kinda embarrased to actually write it.

I've written my short story but although I have an ending I can't finish it. I've deliberately put it off when I could have it finished within an hour, it's probably only another 1000 words and I know exactly what I need to write I just can't seem to finish it.

I'm starting to think that, phycologically, I don't want to finish it because it'll then be scrutinised and criticized. I think that having my work insulted, which will happen eventually, will knock my confidence.

I've had nothing but praise from editors for my non-fiction articles that go out all around the world but putting out a piece of fiction is a whole different ball game and it has me worried to the point I can't complete my work.

If anyone has experienced this before some advice would be really helpful right now. Thanks.

^I can read your story + ending if you want some simple feedback. I mean, @kolio read the brief blurb I wrote for my idea and loved it.

Speaking of,
@kolio I've got some spare time so I'm going to start writing the first chapter.

The point I'm making is that I'm cautious of finishing it because I'm not sure I can take criticism. Sounds crazy, I know, but my worry is that I'll need to redraft it and then it'll never get finished because I'll lack the confidence to go back and rewrite it.

Don't think too much about it man, you have to finish it ! Who knows it could be good right ?

This is a synopsis of the story that i had in my mind for a long time. Just a simple story compared to what you guys have, nothing new to the table. Let me know what you all think

"The Drifter, a mysterious man wandering around the states in his beated up Ford Torino Talladega, arrives at a small town that got caught in a war between a group of thieves and the mob who they robbed."

Isn't that almost Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis?

It's actually rather good.

Well, i'm still gonna write it anyway lol

I think there are differences. In my story, the thieves arrived a day after the Drifter arrived at the small town. Then the mob came after them, making the town a war zone between the mob and the thieves.

While Last Man Standing has Bruce Willis being hired by the mob from what i've read.

I'm thinking of making one of my characters a transgender. Does anyone have any advice for writing transgender characters?

...Last Man Standing? That's a remake of a Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western "A Fistful Of Dollars".

You youngsters, don't know what's a real movie nowadays...

Read transgender writers. Failing that, troll the chatrooms or forums.

*trolll... meaning browse. Not... the other thing.

I have a transgender character as the MC in my current project, 1st person POV. I read some trans writers and visited some blogs, but mostly I've been helped along by a very mellow trans friend, one who is not prone to leaping up and yelling at me when I mangle something. I would definitely say to read trans writers, both published and on blogs or tumblr. I was just lucky in that I had a friend who was already interested in my writing that I felt I could ask for help. And I've needed a LOT of help. -_-; I have to remind myself that I don't think about my gender in every situation, so why should a trans person unless it comes up naturally as a topic?

While having fun with and trying to learn how to use Wings3D to make 3D models, I am quietly developing another eBook. This time, I am taking a somewhat different approach because it is to be another life issue kind of thing. What is different is that I am now going to focus on one specific issue and try to describe the issue in several layers. Everything is still mostly in concept phase. I haven't worked on any kind of eBook in about three months. So there are a few things I'll have to re-learn after successfully making two eBooks. I do welcome the challenge.

Decided to try and push myself out of my normal writing comfort zone, and have a go at a more... raunchier line of stories, per say.

Nothing too extreme, but I can't post them here of course. I'm pretty sure they're better than whatever it was E.L. James churned out, anyway. Has anyone else tried something like this? I'm finding it a surprisingly good way of brushing up my writing skills.

Read as Ken Block gymkhanas his way into Katie's heart.

...So like, I need advice.

I've been writing this, uh, "little" fantasy novel for well over a year now - a real labor of love, if you will - that's almost 7/10 done.

The thing is, I'm unsure as to what to do with it once everything's all done and dusted. I have a definite desire to have it read by other people, which would be fantastic, but should I post it for free, on a website like, say, Royal Road Legends?

I would really like to make a buck off it if possible but seeing that the story is totally, utterly, completely unedited, unchecked and badly formatted I've no confidence at all that I should.

Any sage advice to pass along? If so, much appreciated.

What's the absolute dumbest yet brillant crossover/mishmash isldea y'all have toyed around with? My current favorite can be summed up in five words....Game of Thrones:WWE Edition

Used to. Even made a fanfic here in GTP. I left it unfinished because I got lazy and editing the pics could take as much as 4 days in my old computer.

Currently, the only thing I'm writting is the story of my life. One day at a time.

I wouldn't expect people to pay for an unfinished product. I also don't think you'd end up disappointed with yourself if you put it out there, and got negative responses when you knew full well that actually you'd not taken the time to review it properly yourself or put it to an impartial group first.

...Yeah, I'm aware there's a need to put the finishing touch on the story. If I can just rustle up some time to properly format it & edit it....

Oh right, I gotta finish writing it first. :(

Don't really mind the negative stuff as long as it's constructive however - how else can I learn, right?

As for impartial groups, obviously family's out of question, so any recommendations? I've been looking at one or two fanfic sites but they all seem kinda.... bit low rent to me.

I'm currently inclined towards Royal Road Legends but their traffic seem pretty low. Man....:irked:

You can PM it to volunteers on GTP.
