Does anybody actually rally willingly?

Most DS2 drivers "have" a leadfoot. It's simply because exact modulation is pretty tough on the DS2. I once drove in a sim with a wheel, and the difference was extreme - Wheelspin was totally controllable (a rally-sim, mind you). I don't have a leadfoot - if I had the ability, I'd modulate better. I try my best, but the DS2 is challenging enough without modulation-troubles.

I'm a DS2 user too, I'm guessing you use the buttons Gingiba. You should do what I do and use the right analog stick for gas and brake, it works wonders for throttle and brake control.

I know, but I just can't stand having to use only one at a time. I normally brake while slightly pushing the throttle (kinda left-foot-braking, but more of a left-side-of-thumb-braking)...

Believe me, you get used to it. And if your fast enough, you can still press the gas and the brake within milliseconds of eachother, I managed to pull it off. 👍

I know you can switch between them really fast - only, what about prolonged periods?
I can modulate the throttle alright with the buttons. I mean, if I need to hold a certain RPM, no problem. It's just not as smooth as with a fully-analog wheel.

Prolonged periods are even easier IMO, but I agree nothing comes close to a actual wheel setup.
