Does anyone believe in aliens or extraterrestrials?

Recently I read some books which states about UFO incidents but I do find them hard to believe.

I have seen Stephen Hawking special where he tells that extraterrestrials may exist.

So what do you think by how much years would they be ahead of us in tech,I think may be billions of years.
