Does anyone notice the waste gate sound?

In the hood view with a high RPM turbo equipped, you can hear a waste gate sound off when you let off the gas or shift. I'm just wondering when did they do this and are they planning on making the cars back fire and sound better. Personally I want my Subaru's to back fire and pop with a nice waste gate sound. Tell me what sounds you guys are interested in seeing.

I don't, it's just, see sounds, well, I can't:nervous::nervous::nervous:

Gear grindage would be fun to hear, if you could actually slip a gear and grind them that is. Louder tire squeal during burnouts, as from a grid start race.
 
yeh i here it too, dont think many people notice, they should definately make it louder, or a option where you can buy it in addition to the turbo in the upgrade store
 
It's always been out GT5 - Hood view in a R34 GTR fully modded or Supra RZ. However it was very faint but since spec 2.0 they've enhanced and improved engine sounds including the BOV/Wastegate sounds but also have introduced wind noise..

Maybe in future updates they may include backfire, but I think they're focusing on including and adding more important things in the game.

Who knows though, it could well be in GT6!

Yea the Supra has that nice sound but the Dodge Neon SRT4 has an amazing BOV sound. They need to make it louder and to put back fire in every time you hit the Rev limiter.
 
:grumpy: You have to test audi r8 v10 fully tuned but stock exhaust and stock gearbox. Then hear the sound from in car camera and you will be amazed by the turbo sound ;)
 
I want to hear my tools in my trunk while Im driving, bouncing and flying around while im driving.... :) and broken engine sounds, some parts wobbling and moving around.. I would like to hear a car like I hear it in real world.. all tiny sound bits would be awesome.. GT sounds are too sterile other video games did manage better sounds in some parts but not overall.

PS some cars do sound very good in GT..

They have had the backfire since the beggining. It always active, but the car does backfire when upshifting now with a standard transmission on a steering wheel set like Thrustmaster 500 or Logitech g25 or g27 and others. This does not work with DS3 or using paddle shifters on said sets above.

I'm talking about a Bee-R Rev Limiter type of back fire and the BOV/Wastegate should be a lot louder and better in quality like a sequential BOV.

I've actually had an upshift bacfire with my ds3. I only noticed it once though. And the backfires should be louder too.

Sort of off topic, but I was driving beside a 240 on the highway today and it had the most awesome wastegate sound ever.
 
I'd rather PD fix the rather horrid engine sounds before they add any sort of extra bits to it. I don't want to be driving around in what seems like a turbocharged vacuum cleaner.
 
You do know that a BOV/dump valve, are different things to a waste gate? Waste gates don't really make any sound when you leave off the throttle, as they are on the exhaust side of the turbo, to regulate boost pressure.
An external waste gate will make noise while on the throttle and it sounds like a blowing exhaust as that's effectively what it is.

The eg civic sir-II sounds lush fully tuned and look behind you in bonnet view, the dump valve sounds awesome
 
It should be very noticeable on the Group B rally cars, if you've ever heard one in person then you will know what I mean!

I'll have to try the Lancia when I have a chance. I want a Group B 205 :(
