With the botched backstage segment between Asuka and Riddle I didn't know what happened but it ended awkwardly, I have now found out that Riddle said 'I forgot what I needed to say, sorry' then drove off on his scooter.

No wonder Asuka looked confused!

RE: new design for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship

Gonna give it time. Can see a lot of the third version of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship (as last used officially by Brock Lesnar, unofficially by Angle and Nakamura during the weird period where Antonio Inoki ran another promotion and refused to acnowledge the belt being stripped from Lesnar) in it.

Looks great if you ask me. I love it when companies take an outside-the-box approach to the belt designs and make stuff like this.

They need to work on him more. He feels laid back ever since he got the belt.

Don't think it matters anyway as he will probably lose it at Mania!

They recorded the 2020 Hall Of Fame class at the Thunderdome yesterday, Jerry Lawlor hosted.

They've added Pete Dunne v Kushida to night one of Takeover Stand & Deliver and the participants of the gauntlet eliminator are no known.

So the Andre the Giant Battle Royal they usually have at Mania they will be having on Smackdown tomorrow.

Err...Okay then...

Kind of blah Smackdown IMO. Hopefully it'll get better for the WM edition next week.

And apparently Jericho is coming back to WWE? I saw that he is going to be on Austin's show, but I didn't think anything of it.

Oh the decision to put the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on Ospreay was certainly a choice that was made. Much lower on the "...really?" scale than Michael Elgin, but still, a choice that was made.

Man... that Omos is a beast. Almost like The Great Khali 2.0. I think I read Omos is 7'3".

So...I know Juniors move up to the Heavyweight ranks...and Ospreay is a very good wrestler...but...you JUST merged your major belts together, are declaring it a separate lineage to either of the former belts...and within a week it's already changed hands. Unless the plan is for Ospreay to hold it for a number of defenses, A new title just bouncing around isn't a good look.

The design is growing on me. It still doesn't top...well, either of the outgoing belts, but I'm warming to it.

I'm so disappointed they didn't give Mustafa Ali his old intro back :banghead::banghead:... By FAR the best intro of any of the post-2015 wrestlers!! :banghead::banghead:

Honestly my problem isn't with Ospreay the wrestler moving up in weight classes, it's more Ospreay the "hey we're gonna totally not blacklist a woman who came forward with rape accusations against one of his friends" guy."

I was thinking more WCW in 2000, but I didn't know Ospreay was tied that close to the Speaking out movement. I remember hearing of Wainwright, Scurll, and many others, but I don't remember if I heard Ospreay even mentioned. Regardless, just from the evidence shown I'd have cut ties, but we both know that unfortunately Will brings in money, and the cash overrules the ethics. And remember New Japan had Michael Elgin poised for a push when he abandoned ship, then his allegations came out.

Two more matches made for Mania this weekend which were made on Raw last night and they both involve the women's tag titles, on the Saturday there will be a tag team turmoil match were the winners will face Nia and Shayna for the titles on Sunday, Natalya/Tamina, Mandy/Dana, Naomi/Lana and the Riott Squad will take part, could be a few more teams taking part though.

Musical performances for the shows have been announced too, Rhea Ripley will have a live entrance with Ash Costello performing her Brutality theme song and Bebe Rexha will perform America The Beautiful.

Last night's show was a little better than last week but not by much, main highlight for me was Bad Bunny's $3 million Bugatti getting defaced by Miz and Morrison, cant believe he allowed WWE to do that!

Cars getting destroyed or defaced are nothing new in WWF/WWE. I still remember when Stone Cold poured concrete into one of Vince McMahon's Corvette convertibles. There was a time Kofi Kingston poured paint all over a NASCAR stock car with Randy Orton's likeness on it. There was even that car that blew up when Vince McMahon was faking his own death once. Bad Bunny's Bugatti, though, was probably pretty expensive a waste.

I'm pretty sure it was watercolor or something. Some soap and water and the car should be as good as new.

I dislike him a lot as a singer and producer, but he has been magnificent in his role as a special celebrity. He respects the business, respects the performers and has a legit love for the sport. As a fan, I can't ask anything more from him. He is doing great.

AAAAND he destroyed a guitar on Miz's back. What's not to love about that

Yeah, I'm all in with Mr. Bunny.

He moved to Florida especially and has been at the performance center almost daily to prepare.

Whatever you think of him and his music you have to respect his commitment to this, especially when you consider that it wont really be a big match on card.

I genuinely never had heard of him before the Royal Rumble!

I remember that scene with the NASCAR.

Not to mention the three times or so where they demolished an ambulance (WCW loved killing ambulances too), or Braun Strowman pushing over the semi*, or the time during the DX revival where they ripped the back axle off a limo that Vince was riding away in. I can only imagine what the insurance premiums are for stuff like this.

*yes I know there was a chain pulling it from the other side, it was still cool

Takeover Pre-show has just started, an hour long instead of the usual half hour, looks like there is a new set for the show too.

No changes to tonight's card.

Fantastic show last night, match of the night for me was Walter v Ciampa which was just brutal! Raquel Gonzalez perhaps surprisingly beat Io Shirai for the Women's title but I'm delighted for her, and it maybe means that Io is moving to either Raw or Smackdown, MSK are new tag champs after winning a frantic triple threat match and Bronson Reed will face Gargano for the NA after winner the gauntlet eliminator, the last few minutes of him and Swerve Scott was great.

Onto tonight then and night two, looks like the Unsanctioned match between O'Reilly and Cole will main event and not the NXT title match.

Another great show last night and a new NXT champion, Really happy for Kross I think he just a beast and he will achieve so much in the company, Balor dropping the title will potentially free him up to face Walter, they were supposed to fight last summer but couldn't because of Covid

That unsanctioned match was just brutal, they were trying to kill each other! A bit surprised that Kyle won.

Wrestlemania edition of Smackdown tonight, Andre The Giant Battle Royal and a fatal four way for the tag titles.

I will post the full Mania card tomorrow.

Apologises for the double post but WWE has just announced some pretty big breaking news.

For a few weeks now it was reported that the Sasha v Bianca Belair SD women's title match would close night one and be the main event for the night, not only have WWE confirmed that but they have also said that the Lashley-McIntyre WWE title match will be the opening match of the night and also the first match of this year's Mania.

That is big news for both Sasha and Bianca and congrats to them, also if WWE have a pre-show before night one without a match on it then it means that the first match that WWE will have in front of a crowd in over a year will be a WWE title match!
