I had the same reaction. Even USA Network has been wanting an active champion for RAW, just split the dang titles already!

At least Solo Sikoa made a surprise appearance...
Not sure if it's a good thing though, if he's just to there to reinforce how "unbeatable" The Bloodline is.

Watch him win both the IC and US Titles to force The Bloodline superiority down

Yeah considering Reigns/Rock is being penned in for WM39, this is gonna go on for a while yet.

Plus side, Gunther/Sheamus tonight was apparently a right banger of a big boye battle.

And we look back to see how "good" his heel run is, I'm just gonna get flashbacks in how badly it flushed down the toilet after WM37 and poisoned the product

Excellent show with not a bad match on the card.

I was gutted when Drew lost as I was so sure he would win, unless Drew gets another shot the only person I could see getting the belts off Roman is Cody but he is still on the shelf, there is Seth agin though who had a great match with Riddle, Gunther v Sheamus was a banger of a match.

Very cringeworthy end to the show with Drew and Tyson Fury 'singing'.

So MJF in disguise wins the title oppurtunity and returns after CM Punk wins the AEW Championship setting up the rematch.

Cool build up and all (much more better than what WWE are doing with Roman Reigns) but is MJF not still a heel, if he's a face now this concern is irrelevant but MJF got the whole heroic return treatment yet he's always been known as a ****head heel.

CM Punk went off during the media press conference after the show, verbally attacked Scott Colton (Colt Cabana) and the reasons their friendship broke down and then went after the AEW EVP's including Hangman Adam Page.

That definitely puts all the backstage news stuff about him back into light after trying to die it down.

EDIT: Watching the media scrum, the Scott Colton attack was very unprovoked. CM Punk was asking the journalist whether they were friends with him out of sheer paranoia

Because of Labor Day, I can actually watch RAW tonight! Can't wait to see how they present Strowman.

Seems a fight went on between CM Punk and the Young Bucks according to PWInsider.

Locker room seem split, some are taking Young Bucks side because it came from CM Punks statements while others are taking CM Punks side because the Young Bucks were grouping up on him

Braun Strowman did indeed return to WWE last night, he appeared during the tag team contenders match and basically destroyed everyone, he did trip up when he was at ringside though.

Dominik Mysterio has now predictably joined Judgement Day.

I thought it was inevitable Dominik Mysterio would take the bait and turn heel. Worse of all, against his own father. Maybe Dominik losing matches in his father's shadow kind of got to him.

What more can I say? GET THESE HANDS! I didn't see Braun Strowman run over everybody live, but I did see those highlights. Strowman Express is back. All aboard. Choo choo.

Considering the spicy nature of AEW of late discussed here, I may be tempted to watch Dynamite tomorrow night or even Rampage later this week.

Pat McCafee is leaving commentary for the college football season. Hope he comes back when it's over, I'll miss his energy on Smackdown.

In AEW land, The Elite have been suspended over the altercation with CM Punk.

No news on what is going to happen with CM Punk though, some speculate a suspension or even termination

Apparently, CM Punk picked a legit serious injury during his match with Moxley.

I see there is this Grand Slam Tournament in AEW to determine the new AEW Heavyweight Champion. My goodness- if you see the bracket, that is a STACKED tournament with a handful of former heavyweight champions including AEW champs. Tonight's supposed to be the Wild Card rounds. The Tournament Final happens in two weeks time in New York City. Should be fun.

AEW World Championship tourney breaks down as:
  • Adam Page/Bryan Danielson tonight
  • Sammy Guevara/Darby Allin on next Rampage
  • winner of Page/Danielson against Chris Jericho, Guevara/Allin goes against Jon Moxley next week on Dynamite
  • Finals at Grand Slam special Sep. 21st, MJF with a not-zero shot at using his Casino Ladder Match title opportunity then

I think it's a good thing I haven't committed to watching AEW, things are chaotic by the looks of it.

MJF still a heel but he played it really well to get the boos back at him, we don't have another heel that is cheered like Babyface scenario like AJ Styles in 2016

So one of the segments on Smackdown tonight is what's next for the Bloodline, Dave Melzer has reported that Roman is currently not scheduled to drop the titles this year and won't be at Extreme Rules which is the next PLE, his next scheduled match will be at Crown Jewel in November.

One match on tonight is a five-way elimination match to determine Liv Morgan's next challenger, a returning Lacey Evans is in the match along with Rousey, Natalya, Sonya Deville and Xia Li. Braun Strowman will be there too and will be on Smackdown going forward as a babyface.

Probably going to keep the belts on him until WM when he faces The Rock.

And Booker T is possibly going to temporarily replace Pat.

Rock will probably return at Royal Rumble then things might get interesting.
Thing is, I don't care about The Rock. I consider it quite an underwhelming pay off that doesn't actually feel like the story is progressing. Just feels like this has been a near 2 year stall just for a random match with 2 big names.

I don't care about those type of matches especially when Heel Roman Reigns just been a massive grind since the Bloodline stable became a thing

Mentioned it somewhere here but there's a fine line between "top heel stable looks good" and "top heel stable are essentially demigods" and Bloodline crossed it a while back.

As for Rock/Regins, ship sailed on my actual interest in it a few years back. Already earmarked watching the 2023 Royal Rumble to see if they at least go about and set it up better than this year's one did with Reigns/Lesnar Part However Many Now

Saw this on my YouTube Homepage. Gave me a chuckle.

And calling it now: Drew McIntyre vs Karrion Kross at Extreme Rules!

This, it's basic storytelling that a good villain needs good, believable opposition. Which The Bloodline absolutely fails out which ruins the whole thing.

I give The Authority a lot of slack but at the very least they understood that concept and it was possible to actually believe someone who went up against The Authority could actually win.

Not saying every Roman Reigns opponent has to have some odds of winning, Jey Uso and Kevin Owens weren't believable however both feuds instead were to help set heel Roman Reigns up and then the opposition's after Daniel Bryan and Edge were both really good but after that, I might as well be asleep. No one who challenged Roman Reigns since DB and Edge ever established Reigns further OR were believable in taking him, Drew was close but that's only because of backstage rumours of the titles being split again, not the actual storytelling.

And no The Rock is not believable either, a big fancy name doesn't change anything other than adding spectacle.

I'm not blaming this on the actual Wrestlers involved, the individual matches are trying to convey actual characters very well but the core of the story is so flawed in the principal level that you can't salvage it with just a good match.

Liv Morgan v Ronda Rousey for the SD Women's title at Extreme Rules has been made, this is after Rousey predictably won the five way.

There was a really good six-man battle between Imperium and Brawling Brutes, Strowman took out the Alpha Academy and Solo Sikoa made his main roster debut in the main event against Drew McIntyre, he is the Usos younger brother (by eight years) and has been on NXT previously, and he looked really good on his debut. Match ended in a DQ after Karrion Kross got involved and put Drew in the Kross-Jacket and that's how Smackdown went off air.
