Does car wash even do anything?

Pictures look that much sweeter when you're driving a shiny car rather than one that looks like it's been covered in matte paint.

Yeah. I had a Supra RZ and my Top speed was 306 and when i washed it and did nothing else i had a top speed or 310!

Was it mph or km/h? :dunce:

There's also a psychological factor. If you feel better about yourself or your car, you will tend to perform better. In my pursuit of 200 A-spec point races, I would often prepare my ride with carwash as a matter of routine. Winning at the game of racing is the accumulation of many small advantages. I know.

Sort of.

As you drive, you get dirt and crap on your car. This then stops the car cutting through the air as cleanly as it used to. You keep it washed and you will be able to increase the top speed as there is no dirt to restrict or affect the airflow going over the car.

OA - Even though tlowr4 is an Aussie, the implication of it going from 306 to 310 indicates MPH due to the 300mph club. Besides, it's so easy to get it over 310km/h in near enough stock form.

Mafs. I know i should not assume, because it made an ass out of you and me. j/k

And i would know this if i ever drove the little blight. But I am just not a Supra Fan.

But I didn't assume, I implied. :P

Have a go with it.....it's fun for drifting when you put a little boost and some N2's on it. The same result occurs though if you use all 888hp w/Stage 5 turbo and R5's and it's just wheelspin and tyre frying!! :D:mischievous:

RJ - They're common enough in my world!! :D

for the wing guy....yes you would make the speed, but not as quick......the high wing/downforce setting allows you to manouvre corners at high speeds by assisting with the grip the tyres have on the road with the assistance of down-force.......if you adjust the settings and drive (at lowest and then at highest) you will notice a difference in the rate of acceleration in 5th and 6th gears.........The intention with the wash, aside from the shiny looks, is a slight, slight difference in top speed on a long long straight due to less co-efficient drag.,.....this would help if the two cars are almost evenly matched and that extra mile or two per hr would come in handy
