Does Gran Turismo 5 need a voice actor?

Forza 3 seems to have a voice actor to announce things.

I dont think they need an announcer... but it might be cool if GT5 has license tests or some sort of driving school to have something like SCC will have... Which is Tiff Needell telling you how to drive and giving you pointers in the driving school... For GT it wouldnt necessarily have to be Tiff but someone of the same caliber would do

Nah i dont think an announcer is needed in the GT series. But if they were going to have one my pick would be Jeremy Clarkson. Id be funny having him "teach" us how to drive in the lesson tests.

GT4 prologue had VBH doing the voiceover for the licence tests which worked well, however that Forza voiceover strikes me as pretty naff and not at all helpful or necessary.

GT4: Prologue had Tiff Needell's "Fifth Gear" co-presenter Vicki Henderson-Butler doing the voice-over on the Licence Tests section... it was a change, but I'd prefer none myself, and certainly not Clarkson, Hammond, May or Needell

^ they are all qualified voice actors for GT5.

It seems they have added it to make it more accessible for the newcomers who are too lazy to read. I don't see as it would be a problem so long as you can turn it off, if you can't I can see it getting very annoying, very quickly.

To play a game it's a pretty safe bet you'd need to be able to read, so why do they need a voice actor to tell you stuff that a text box could.

Haha well actually i think it's kinda cool, it looks like it's only there to help new players and stuff. Actually i just watched all the Forza 3 video's from GC and im really impressed, looks like it will be a really fun game. And the rewind function could be used if your practicing a course to just rewind and redo turns over and over which would be much better than having to go right round the track again. I think Forza 3 has some nice features. But damage in the demo's looked terrible! and makes GT5's damage look amazing really

No. I would go for Michael Schumacher, Tanner Foust or Juan Pablo Montoya. On second thought, I don't think Kazunori would ever need an announcer.
