Does it take a pesky to beat a pesky?

I was wondering if the other 4.5 million dollar cars are worth it. Can they touch the pesky? I would hate to have to spend that much on a french car. I am specificaly wondering about the bently, audi, bmw and panoz cars. With upgrades and tuning can they beat the peskys? Even though I am at best a sub-par driver? Thanks all!

i would say no. unless you tweaked the gear ratio massivly. But I have aquired all of the audis through my time on gt4 and never managed to get any of them over 200mph(i have not bothered changing gear ratios though). BMW...The BMW M3 race car may be capable of it but you would still have to tweak the gear ratio. After all the cars that you will be racing against will have a top end of over 225mph. well the cars that I have raced against iin endurance races have done. + i agree wih you. French Cars 👎 . GERMAN cars all the way. :) lol. but thats my opinion. 💡

i dont think that that is entirily true. you can get audis over 900bhp. Like you say you would have to tweak the gear ratio a bit. the audi race car would do the trick but i dont no if you can buy it. if you can i know it is over 1 000 000c.

the audi R8 race car is easily the best car for winning enduros. You can win it, but i cant remember where. I think its an endurance race. Its very stable compared to the race cars around the 1990's

Don't touch the Panoz though. If you want something that slow you might as well buy the GTS cars, which cost a cool million a piece. A DTM car fully done up (except, maybe, the 190 Evo II) will whup either Pescky right quick, as they handle better than the LMP's at any speed. They also all cost around 500g's. You can win the Audi R8, but only at Sarthe I, so you'll probably end up racing a Pesky to get it.

Really? My standard R8 and Pescarolo C60 in stock form can kill any heavily modified touring car track times. I think the same rule applies in real life.

Avoid the Panoz at all costs, the other prototype cars should all be fairly comparable.

Wrong. The first DTM car is on page 3, less than a minute behind the top Pesky. And if I had said JGTC cars (which I should've but forgot to), the leading one is within 25 seconds of the leading Pesky and almost within 20 seconds. And considering the AI isn't anywhere near that fast, I stand by my statement.

Well, perhaps in GT4 a modified DTM (any touring car for that matter) car would be able to get somewhat close to a prototype time. Certainly not in real life.

I guess I don't find the Pescarolo to be all that hard to plant in the corners. A 900hp touring car on the other hand would be quite a handful.

So what you are saying is, that the DTMs and JGTC are faster than the LMPs, while at the same time being slower...

I guess if you want a closer fight with the AI choosing a slower car (as you have suggested) may be a better option.

I'm saying that the board presented is not applicable to an actual race. The A.I. cars do not have R5 tires, nor do they have stage 4 turbos. Coupled with the generally poor A.I. driving, I'm saying that a fully modified DTM or JGTC or ALMS or GTS (etc. etc.) car with R3s should (and in the case of the DTM cars, usually will) be able to beat an LMP/Group C car right quick. Especially in a shorter race.

yeah i guess the main point is that DTMs and JGTC are NOT faster than the LMPs when driven by the same driver, but they may well faster than an AI driven LMP. The AI in general is way too cautious on blue tires, hence in the shorter races you can be quicker.

Yep, didn't see that one.
