Don't talk to the cops...

My friends house was robbed and the Police didn't do anything about it... My friend knew who it was and the Police never investigated... Police here are terrible and are assholes.

It's called evidence. Anyone can point the finger, but the cops can't do sweet F-A without solid evidence.

My "civilian" job(when I'm not flying for the Air Force) is a DoD Police Officer. We work hand-in-hand with a lot of the local city/state/federal police agencies. A majority of them are douchebags on power trips who enjoy screwing with people, sadly. Two of my co-workers like to compete to see how many people they can pull over and write citations to in a work day.

I've been doing this for 11 months. Have written 0 citations, have detained 1 person, and have arrested 0 people. I've pulled several people over, and have issued countless verbal warnings. I've even let several drunk Navy kids call friends to come and pick them up vs. arresting them for DUI and ruining their lives/careers. I had a kid riding a sportbike on base one day I could've issued 8 citations to(no helmet, no shoes, no reflective gear, no seat, no turn signals, no breaklights, etc.), but instead I gave him the option to walk and have it picked up by his father. I've found(just by looking through the window during a stop) marijuana in 3 different construction worker's vehicles on base, and told them they're idiots to even think about bringing that onto a military installation, and if caught again they'd be arrested.

Only time I've ever done anything to ruin someone's day was when we called local ICE authorities because we had a Mexican with fake SS card, fake NC DL, etc. driving on base and refused to cooperate with us so we called them and had them come pick him up.

Not all LEO are out to screw people over, though. Just seems like a lot. And I agree with keeping your mouth shut around LEO's. Can't count the number of times people have incriminated themselves just by saying something stupid without thinking. Luckily for them I just laugh, and point out their mistake, and tell them in the future to just watch what they say.

ROFL ... that moron in the third video should be thankful the cop tased him instead of shooting him. If you want to prove how smart you are and dick with people, choosing a police officer who is from what I can tell acting in a perfectly reasonably manner is not a good choice.

Look at the number of police officers who have been killed recently trying to apprehend people, even SWAT officers. They're justifiably nervous and with this guy wandering around like a lost dog and his girlfriend screaming at him ... I would have tased them both, several times :D

I would assume that was because he was a little uptight that you might have been putting yourself, innocent bystanders, and him all in danger.

It was a bicycle, not street bike, now how do you put someone in danger on that? Not like I was speeding.

All it would have taken is a person not paying attention to kill someone while trying to avoid you.

Again.. It was a bicycle, not a crotch rocket. The light had just turned green, he pulled me over and yelled at me for no reason. If it was green, there was no danger.

What was he yelling at you about?

What was he yelling at you about?

About supposedly running the lights. He tried to give me a ticket and community service but I talked to him calmly enough in a non-rude manner to make him give me a verbal warning even though I did nothing wrong.

The only people that hate cops are the ones that are always in trouble, but they fail to realize it's not the cops fault they got caught.

I'm a good boy and have never been in trouble, as you say. I have respect for anyone willing to put their own safety on the line for the benefit of the public. However, I have an intense dislike for some cops. Dirty cops. While Servo may have been generalizing when he said that all cops are this or that, you did the same thing more or less saying they are all the opposite. Yet, we have been witness to many instances of policemen doing things that you could not call good. Also, keep in mind we are now an international community on the interwebz. Are police from Mexico just as 'good' as police from Canada. Are Japanese police just as 'bad' as those from Venezuela?

I hate cops. Point Blank. I have almost been tasered in three states, Florida,Ohio and Georgia. And all three times I was just walking home. Doing nothing but walking on the sidewalk. I guess I kinda looked guilty, a black kid walking through a white neighborhood. But then again, thats not against the law now, is it?

It is if the person is alone after dark in a village by my city. They really have to update their by laws.

**** that cop, **** the states, **** everything... That's ****** up...

EDIT: Ok, I take back what I said about the states.. It's the same everywhere. Far from all of them, but many cops are misusing the power of being a cop, the same with bouncers and stuff like that. They often had no or very little power when they were kids, and maybe was offended at school and such. Becoming a cop is their revenge...

I really don't care haw sarcastic he was being, you just don't make jokes about taking someone into the middle of the desert and shooting them, especially someone who is willing to risk their lives to keep your safe. If he for one second thought that would be funny than he needs some serious help.

Yes, you're right, I need serious help. I should call the cops.

But really, why not? Cops do it. In fact, you'd be surprised the number of cops who are behind bars because they thought they could bend the rules a bit further every time... again, power trips, man... give someone power and they'll go crazy. But because cops are your heroes, then what they do is justified.

Also, most cops I've encountered in the States feel they have the inherent ability to talk down to people and assume that because one is not American, that they have to talk to you like you're dumb and have to explain everything.

I had a little encounter with a Georgia police officer, who was black and about 7 ft tall and pulled me over for doing 39 in a 35 mph zone. It went something like this:

Cop: Licence and registration, boy
Me: Don't call me boy. Here.
Cop: You don't have a United States Valid Licence.... boy
Me: I'm not an American, I am a tourist, this is a rental car and I'm not a "boy"
(cop attempts to read my driver's licence)
Cop: esss... essss.... hesspagna?
Me: España, it's Spanish for Spain.
Cop: España? Where the hell is that?
Me: You don't know where Spain is?
Cop: Don't you be tryin' to make fun o'me, boy. If your driver's licence ain't valid, I's gotta takes you undah arrest!
Me: Excuse me officer, Spain is in Europe... Europe is about 10,000 miles west from here. And I'd appreciate it if you don't call me boy.
(30 second silence goes by, you could almost hear the cop's brain engaging)
Cop: Youse a loooong way from home, boy. And since you's speak English like youse from NooYawk, I's gonna have to call this in and fine ya.

All in all, I got a $75 fine and never stopped being called boy. Point in case, you don't have to be smart to be a cop.

I kind of meant after they get done taking all you're money.

The next time I get robbed and I'm being pointed at with a gun, I'll be sure to ask the mugger for my cellphone back so I can call the cops. Except what do you do when the one robbing you is a cop? Do you save the money on the call and just tell him to apprehend himself?

Dude, seriously...

That driver was an idiot. He deserved to get tasered. Signing a ticket is not an admission of guilt; only acknowledging you agree to appear on the court date as specified on the ticket. Don't sign, and the cop will place you in custody. Don't obey their command when being taken into custody, get tased. Simple as that.

"Don't tase me, bro!" lol

the guy in the third video didn't get tasered because the cop was brutal, he got tasered because he didn't follow the cop's instructions. Cooperating with the cop's orders isn't an admission of guilt; the cop told him what to do because he didn't want there to be a possibility for the situation to get out of his control. I'd have to side with the officer

Well, hello there, Mr. "I listen to Rush Limbargh".

seriously, you morons? seriously?

you ought to be ashamed of yourselves.:ouch:

Who? Never heard of this "Limbargh" guy.

What justification do you have to call me a moron? Insults will only get you in trouble. If you're going to insult me, you better be ready to back it up with damn good reason.

What I said about the idiot in the video was based on facts evident in the video. Not signing a ticket means you want to get handcuffed and sent to jail. When the officer was giving the idiot what he wanted, he resists. Therefor, he got tased. Simple.

So, if it's so simple to understand, why would you have the justification to call me a moron. Tread cautiously, dude.

Why's that?

Does this (http://strangeherring.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/rush-limbaugh.jpg) ring any bells? huh?

calm the hell down, dude. I just thought you were a Conservative Republican (which most police officers are, BTW), which would an oddity in Southern California, being all that people do is smoke weed (Kristen Stewart) and support Gay Marriage (pretty much everybody in Hollywood).

Besides, being a Liberal Democrat from Red-State White-Trash Hicksville (Indiana), I don't understand why people are in love with Police Officers as much as they are. personally, I think they are scumbags. But that's another topic for another thread for another time.....

You're a bit too liberal for these forums.

One day at work, I saw a license plate that said this " Be nice to me, I am a nurse" Then at the bottom " when your sick, I will get the last laugh" Something along those lines.

I want to use that picture but its against AUP T-T.
support Gay Marriage (pretty much everybody in Hollywood).
Last time I remember, that we, Californians, voted against Gay Marriage.

The picture of the professor, with the blackboard? I was looking for it because I wanted to post it. I've seen it posted around GTP before, so it shouldn't be against AUP.

No, not ALL Californians, Just the (relatively small) percentage of Conservative Republicans slaves led by their master, the GOVERNATOR, who led to it being repealed.

To me, Prop 8 was the greatest thing that ever happened to the Golden State since the Governtoral recall (then again, maybe not.....:ouch:)
