This thread is to discuss cars that you drag which either perform far better or far worse than expected.

I'm not sure how many cars will perform better than expected but oh well.

Slower
I'll start - TVR cerbera speed 12 (Indy and TopGear).. Expected it to be almost veyron fast and well it's far from that..

Faster
Ferrari 430 (normal not the scud) (Indy) - thought itd be slower than a supra due to lower hp and similar weight, mine is comfortably in the 9.8s

Edit: be sure to define which track so that we don't have confusion as some cars like the aforementioned TVR stink at 1/4 but destroy at 3k.

Subaru 360. Expected to be slower than prius but can do 19.9 and a burnout unlike prius :dopey:

Pontiac Solstice; 1 more HP than the S2000 and its heavier but its better by 0.15 of a sec. Which in drag racing is a respectable amount

So true. Think the weight and better weight ratio helps put the power on the ground. Whats the torque figure? Torque wins races...

Yeah, I really like this car, has a nice clean launch. Can compete with SRT-4's despite only having 442 hp.

Looks interesting, what does it run ?

With a quick tune it non broken in at like 442hp and 1250kg it was doing like 10.5s and it'll go a LOT faster. I literally slapped the basics on it and went just so I could say I did something to it. Nothing real special. I expected it be be more along the lines of 11 flat

Could also be a better powerband

My biggest disappointment was the Volkswagen Bora V6 4MOTION '01...a Jetta in North America, Looked like it had potential but when halfway done buying parts, weight reduction etc I came to find out you can't put a turbo or S/C on it...I promptly put it away and never touched it again.

With weight I guess? It's still slower than expected

Yes but I managed .300 if not more off my time with a bunch of tricks. For a long time I ran 9.7s. I now run 9.4s and it'll be faster yet.

Nice dude, I haven't tuned it for 1/4 yet since I'm not really a 1/4 tuner but I have a few very fast 1/4 tunes.

It's just I expected more from the S7 :)

This new car i just found from the UCD, Olluim Motors(?) Spirra V8 (Not the full name but close) i expected about a 10.5 or so out of it and it pulled a 9.98 or so unbroken, MR car, lightweight.

EDIT: Oullim Motors Spirra 4.6 V8 '04 1/4 mile - 9.9xx in a 5min tune unbroken, not bad

Let us not forget the Premium Ford Mustang GT. What a heaping pile of junk that one turned out to be.

Yer disappointing. But they probably had to add lots of extra safety features and fit new environmental standards which means most cars seem to get more and more boring.

Classic > Plastic :)
