I was thinking that instead of dissallowing the winner of the previous week to enter the new week, we should make him fight for a spot. As there are only 15 posistions we should allow the winner to choose his 15 favourite pictures not including his own and number them fav to least fav and which ever he choses as the 15th pic has to go into a poll against the winners picture. this would allow a level of fairness because he is not being disallowed entry and there are really still 15 positions available to everoyone who wants to enter. and we cant say that the 15th photo will be crap becasue the level of competition is fairly high but in some cases it may be an obvious choice, but it is still a level of fairness in terms of the previous weeks winner getting into the next weeks comp. either he is voted good enuff or not.

Ok sorry to bring this up again, but I want to ask if you cant change the rules of photoshopping into, brightness and contrast changes only? I know it's hard to see if something is only brightend up or if there have been level changes and stuff, but I know I would definatly post more pictures in the competition and I'm sure more people agree on this.

It's alltered a bit more then brightness and contrast, but I'm sure the quality of the pictures will improve VERY much:tup:

What's happening with the DPC's lately???
1. The requirements take 3 days to come through (I understand this is the previous winners fault) - But there should be an overide, if the winner doesn't choose in time, the person who set up the entry should post something like... "The previous winner has not sent me his/her choice, next idea will be used". Then whoever posts a set of requirements next, they get used.
2. The Poll is always late, this weeks deadline was the 13th, it's now the 15th and no poll has been created... Captain Trips (no offense Buddy) has just assumed responasability for this, but there's nothing official about it.
3. I reckon the DPC entry and poll should be sticky'd, then once the winner is decided, that week gets un-sticky'd.
I get really excited for the DPC, but I believe we can create more hype around it and have it running more smoothly too. We just need to be efficient with it.
I'd be happy to take it over, except I have no idea how to set up the pole with images in it... If someone can help out with that, Then I don't mind helping out here...

No photoshop... Not all drifters are photoshop aces, Like me, I suck at photoshop, it'd be totally unfair... You'd need 2 comps then, 1 photmode and 1 photoshop...
The forum move is 2 way idea...

2. 90% of the photo guys go to the phot comp forum

if you move it to the photo comp forum then you will get more people entering, however they will tend to vote for the best looking pic. Therefore if you want the shots to be judged on the quality of the drifting by people who know what to look for (ie you guys), then you'd probably be better keeping it here.

In photomode section, people can drift pretty good, but they're not that interested. I might wanna make a Drift Photoshop Competition there, but I think it'll take SOME of the today's drift comp away.
I agree ViXeN, you could make seperate drift competitions, for photoshop and without. I would want the not-photoshop in the drift forums offcourse, since they're not based on beautie, but pure angle and smoke and car usage.
THEN AGAIN, if this drift comp is moved to photomode section, it'll be forced to keep maintained again, cause I feel like a lot more contestants will come to the comp then:tup:

Don't bring photo shop into the competition.. thats silly, i guarantee you will lose much more participation, not everyone has it or knows how to use it.
I do have to agree, the whole competition seems to be going downhill. It's just not as solid, and consistant as when 194GVan ran it...
Make it consistant, and not as "laid back".. and im sure more people will take it seriously and start entering..
It also really bugs me when i see "TBA" everyweek.

No photoshop. If you're dying to put more brightness in your pics, then do it with the actual GT4 photomode.
Also, I agree. Something needs to be done about the way the competition is being run and that is on me.
I would like some of you that are very interested in ressurecting this great event to PM me with ideas or if you are interested in running it yourself.

If someone can teach me how to set up polls with pictures in them, I'll be happy to take over the drift photo comps.
To back me up on my credentials, I am a forum Admin at an online game called valhall promisance (www.valhallgames.net) It's my duty to employ and maintain awards hosts there, which is basically people who conduct awards monthly for the games. Basically we need to generate excitement and get people to vote in the awards categories and I have been quiet successfull in it so far...
So if someone will show me how to do the pics on the polls, I'll gladly assist.

Entry: Runs for 7 days - Monday to Monday
Poll: Runs for 7 days - Wednesday to Wednesday
Winner from 2 weeks prior chooses requirements.
Should the winner not contact me, I will anounce that for requirements and the next post get's used...
e.g.
ViXeN: Last winner has not pmed me, I need requirements.
User: Twin Ring, Any MR Car.
ViXeN: Done!!!
This will stop polls and entries being late!
So it'll be 2 week rotations:
