Just spent an hour taking pictures of 3 different vipers.

BTW: I must thank you for including hue/saturation. The PMC rules don't allow it, and the 2.0 rules, which do, lend themselves to much more talented artists than I. Part of the reason I entered these competitions is the fact that hue/saturation adjustments are allowed. GT4 has always pissed me off by producing some of the most bland photos ever, when transferred to a computer.

Well i figured I might as well get in on this :D

_FINAL ENTRY!_

Runner Up: (mainly because it didn't show enough drift angle, and i dislike the GTSR's rear end.)

Well I'll try to enter if I have some time this weekend. 👍

i'm into the formula gt championship, race six now
if the competition close tomorrow i think i'm not in time to take a shot...

Really sorry about leaving this up in the air, thanks Swiss for picking up my slack. :D

Sweet shot NTX, a bit too much tilt for my taste but it has that great NTX style. 👍

Final Entry

It was a whole lot of fun drifting with this car. 900+HP + N2 tires = Mayhem! :D

well, i've been pwned by a set of GTS' and an SRT-10.

gonna ask a rude question, but, well, it's what I do.

What's with all the head on shots? in most drift comps these basically dot the landscape of the entries, and, as much as I'm gonna sound like a douchewad for saying it, they are getting generic. I know they are all fantastic, and I won't argue that. but after you see something great all the time, it's still great, but just doesn't jump at you anymore. for example, of the shots here so far, 4 of them are head on. those 4 are the ones from the most experienced guys here. LdS, NTX, David and Swiss. I know I suck, but come on guys, I know you are capable of more than "head on shot with blur/smoke+contrast/brightness". 3 of the 9 haven't even been edited (I think spaghetti's may have had some adjustments tweaking) and in Muz's shot, I can't even see drift angle. I hope I don't come across as having a "god's gift" syndrome, because I don't. frankly, I suck at these things, IMHO. But I know that you guys who have been here awhile can do better than what's been posted here. Are they good shots? YES, they most certainly are. Are they getting generic? also yes, despite the quality.

I know I suck, and I know that you guys can outdo me any day of the week in PS/GT4 photomode, and I know I just made myself sound like a total douche, but I had to say it.

Well I understand what you are trying to say here tupacrulez, any criticism is okay if you don't take it too far..... ;) Yeah, I know my shot somehow "sucked" and all, but at least it was what I thought to be very different than all the front angle drifting shot that you say is all so common. :P I do have a few well deserved shots that could replace that, but it will depend how long the competition will be open..........

I'm not doubting that your picture doesn't fit, but (maybe due to my monitor being completely screwed) I see no drift angle at all, and very little countersteer.

I realize I probably came off as harsh, but when I used to lurk these boards and saw some of the 2.0 shots, i was amazed.

I do agree with you tupacrulez, but the front of the viper is "what defines it" imo. I felt a head on shot fit the car better, it looks a lot more aggressive. My last two wins in drift comp (week 30 and 29recently) were from the rear though.

Like Swiss said, the Viper style comes mostly from its front look.
Now if this comp. was 2.0, the result could be quite different. In PMC its more difficult to give "wings" to our imagination. In this comp. I try to use well the blur that comes straight from the game, because drift also means a bit of speed...now if we could use PS blur...things would be different.

👍
NTX

Yeah, I agree with NTX. I think PMC would be better if we could use at least motion blurs on at least the drift comp. I know if I could use a blur filter, my shot wouldn't have the generic "head-on" angle. But you do have to take advantage of in-game blurs for pmc. And you think I'm expirienced? I'll take that as a great compliment. But I remember my first shot went to the same week comp as your first shot tupacrulez. I think it was the le mans theme. I really think we should vote on a poll to see if we could allow blur filters into drift comp's pmc rules.

Oh and Swiss, that's a great shot. I think its much much better.

Thanks David! 👍

I think it'd be cool to switch up this comp to the cccl format. 2.0 one week, pmc the next. Any thoughts?
