I think this is fine, we just need a blur allowed, since then things could get mixed up a bit more.

I think I have to disagree on that. Since this is PMC rules, I don't think the PMC rules should be disturbed any more. If you want to add in blurs and all that other PS filters, then might as well do a 2.0 drift comp. 👍

I don't really care about the rules or anything, but some things are better left off as it is as this was the original purpose for the PMC rules.......

Very very very very, but really very bad idea. The point of this competition (at least in my eyes) is to grab your car and go sideways. The thing with the motion blur is that I can go to a curve, stop the car, making it like it is drifting (with the wheels pointing the other way (just like a drift shot)), take the photograph, put a little motion blur and some smoke (or not) and voala, I have a perfect or almost perfect drift shot without drifting. This would make the competition uneven because:

a) finding a good drifting photo it’s not easy (at least for me). I don’t know and or like very much to drift, and finding a good spot where I am drifting perfectly it’s a bit hard, so I spend some time with replays and more replays, until I think I got a perfect picture, and I think it happens to some of you too.

b) with the motion blur if you don’t have experience in Photoshop, you will be doing that hard work, looking for a good drifting picture and so on, while maybe I or another person who have some experience may only go to the 1st turn (curve), stop the car, making it look like it is drifting, take the picture, go to Photoshop and put some motion blur and have a great drifting picture.

I think no one would like this, but if you want to make my job easier…

There was a special 2.0 week, think it was week 20. That had some great entries, especially Moglet's. But I think it is better the way it is now, I did add hue/saturation so it wasn't completely the same as PMC. Plus it's nice to be able to adjust that. 👍

I'll get the poll and next week up when as soon as I get the theme from NTX.

a) You have captured some of the best drift shots I've seen, you sure don't make it look hard to get a good shot.
b) good point, but sometimes it's hard to add good wheel spin in ps.

Yeah its red...its a deep, rich red as I have done some adjustments to the contrast, Midtones etc. Maybe your monitor is 'having second thoughts'?
Has anyone else noticed this in my Entry?
If so then I would have to change it quick!

I didn't put it through photoshop...if I did I would add a vignette and lighten the Highlights. But its ok, I was a bit late to submit...theres always a next time.👍

Like i mentioned before, my monitor is on it's way out. 5 years of dedicated service is taking it's tole. I think I fixed it for now though, so I'll soon be workin my ass off to get something in for the remaining comps.

BTW: that viper looks badass in red, hehe. ALOT better than the girly purple i had for a while. But a no no on the rims for me. they came out blue. Also next time, you might try saturating just the reds in the picture, instead of the whole colour range in the picture, since now the grass looks a tad too bright (I'm assuming you ran it through a Photo editor of some sort, since that doesn't look like a natural GT4 results)

Yeah lol...I wasn't fussy on this one, I used Microsoft Office Picture manager, so if your familiar with it, you know that its pretty limited in what you can do.
But next Photomode comp I will deffinetly get on to it earlier and use Photoshop on my Comp ( I did this one on the Families desktop...basic PC). Thanks for your input guys,

Well, thank you. But believe me, it is difficult for me to have a decent Drift shot. Also there are two easy ways of adding wheel spin. One being the famously radial blur and the other being the burn and smudge blur combination (or just one of them).

I think it would be cool to do a special 2.0 once or awhile (like after 10 or more weeks), but like the cccl, just doesn't work. I think there was a discussion about this a while back. I think I remember it.

LdS does bring up that great point that never thought about. I take back ever saying that now. Someone that's great at ps could just turn a stationary shot into some great un-godly drift shot. Maybe as stated before, we could have a special 2.0 comp every 10 or 20 weeks.

I've not yet pulled off the use of smudge blur to create wheel spin. Radial blur is a godsend though.

Yeah, I love radial blur. That's what would make 2.0 kind of unfair though in drift comp.
