I just want opinions if it's possible to beat grip dirving by drifting? Even if it is on narrow mountain roads.
P.S please dont think this idea came from initial d.

Nope.

Not in the popular definition of the term 'drift'; ie exhibition drifting. And its not a matter of opinion.. its a matter of tire physics.

Now, now, don't you know M-Spec. . . A long extended Drift that will lose me about 15 mph around the turn will still give me the ability to pass you on the straight with my slightly underpowered car. . .

By the way love the Sig, I should get that sketched into my rearview mirrors. . . :D

I wish I could take credit for it, but I saw it somewhere else a long time ago. I should photochop it onto one of my M3 mirrors ...and stick an Audi image for good measure. :P

Correct. Please use the Search function to check for pre-existing threads before creating new ones.

Also, think about motorsports. How many of them use drifting? 1. Rally. And when do you see the rally cars drifting? On gravel and snow.

Ergo, drifting can offer speed advantages in low traction environments.
