Forget about racing in here :lol: We're talking about drifting

True true i was just saying that you know that i love EVOs (i love STIs too but yeah)

Why do you talk like a black dude?

I don't know if that was meant to be a racist comment or not? Not saying you meant it like that or anything just asking.... But no i am from Michigan and i always called my friends "homies" just like how some people from different places call friends "bros" has nothing to do with race man...

I can sense a disturbance in the force. Anyway, good rule is that if you can't tune your 4wd drift car properly, drift a rwd car. Especially if your new. At this stage of time learning with a 4wd will mess up how you learn to drift.

Ok so changing the LSD & torque distribution was the game changer, now the evo drifts like a beauty.. Problem I'm finding now is that in the wider bends either the steering is non responsive when I'm not in a drift and she ploughs straight into the barrier or the drift runs short of the end of the bend. What settings to tweak? Suspension? Il add my current setup when I'm home tonight for much debate & scrutiny!..

As always, cheers boys. Mac

Sorry man... let's just say I was influenced by other substances last night...

I believe the Japspeed Subaru (one which was stolen last year) was AWD. So not all AWD drift cars are bad.

You're doing it wrong.

Correct, at this point this is how a black man types; very observant of you.....based on your last couple of contributions to this thread, let's just say anything this black guy would say to you wouldn't be the most pleasant use of the english language...

OP...tune the evo like a front heavy FR car set front diff to 5 5 and 5, rear to 5 40-60 40-60... spring rates I tend to keep a bit soft, helps CHs get good traction I'd make the rear the same spring rate as the front..damping is to your preferance, anti roll 5-6 front and rear..oh and of course 10-90 torque split

You take these matters quite seriously don't you pal.

One final piece I need is the rear spoiler. Although stock has a spoiler you can't tune the aerodynamics until you put on some ridiculous wing! Is this essential or will keeping the original stock evo spoiler ruin it all?

Having a wing for a drift car isn't that necessary. This is because the downforce will make your tyres grip more at speed. Just go with the wing you like most

Id appreciate it if you actually watched the video before you commented. There is a lot of visible drifting in the video. Regardless if its gymkhana or driving thru a McDonalds drive-thru.

Drifting = Controlled art of sliding a RWD car, often in tandem with another car.

Gymkhana = Usually a solo act of power-sliding a 4WD car around corners/obstacles.

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. Regardless of what situation you are in, if it's a 4WD car, the front wheels are being sent power, which means it is NOT drifting.
