/Drive Discussion

/DRIVE is the best automotive YouTube channel on the planet! :D

I first heard about this channel in Fast Lane Daily (/DRIVE's sister channel, where /SHAKEDOWN and the defunct /ROAD TESTAMENT was first broadcasted), and I was wondering if this would be an instant hit.

2 years later, /DRIVE became the best! I now know different personalities like Larry Kosilla, Mike Spinelli, Matt Farah, Mike Musto, Ryan Symancek and, of course, Chris MONKEY Harris!

These are my favorite videos so far:
  • The Spa 24 - /DRIVE Special
  • Ferrari F40 vs. Ferrari F50: Like You've Never Seen Them Before - /CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS
  • /TUNED's Panama Road Trip
  • Mystery of The Buried Dino Solved - Jalopnik on /DRIVE
  • C'etait un Rendezvous: The Original Street Racing Video - /LIVE AND LET'S DRIVE
  • /SHAKEDOWN - TED the Movie Special (🤬 you, Leo! You can suck my *bleep*)

I'm glad /DRIVE is getting this sort of attention!

Saying Goodbye to the C63 AMG 6.2 V8. - /CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS

It's the car that redefined AMG as a brand. We love it and it dies soon. This is our goodbye.

Did you forget about Ryan Symancek?

/MY LIFE AS A RALLYIST
Step 4: Relive Group B with the Lancia 037

I love this episode so much it made me drool!👍

Roadkill is absolutely awesome. There's a TV show from the UK that's getting a bit long in the tooth that could learn a trick or two from those guys.

This. I know they're not part of the /Drive channel, but it is undoubtedly the most entertaining car show on You Tube by far. Wheter you agree with the views of Burger and Finnegan, it's just plain fun to watch, it's really the only show on You Tube I do look forward to. I have watched some /Drive segments and I do like it, but it's more like casual watching. But Roadkill is religious.

And well, also because I'm a bit of a fan of David Freiburger's editorial career and how he has saved many of my favorite magazines from total pointlessness and boredom to becoming respectable, readable and fun entities yet again, specially Car Craft and Rod & Custom. And he got Hot Rod back in track after some random editorial direction before he grabbed the boat.

Watching him do the stuff he does at Roadkill, listening to him, really brings up the work he has done for the past 10 years and gives it a face and a voice, and I find that absolutely awesome. And Finneggan is like his perfect complement.

That Corbin kid is a non stop cringe machine. I couldn't make it through either video.
He's annoying, but I can't help but like his cars. That Jetta looks like the worst car in the world but nothing less than hilarious to drive.

I can't wait to see Monkey Harris hoon the McLaren P1 in Yas Marina! Looks like absolute car porn!

I hope Ryan's "oh s**t" moment isn't that bad. :nervous:

I LOVE THAT IMPRESSION!

Spinelli: And this week on...BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG MUSCLE!!!!!!!!!!

On today's AFTER/DRIVE, Spinelli talks to Tamir Moscovici, director of "Kaz: Pushing The Virtual Divide", and the engineers of the Jaguar XKR-S GT.

This is one of my favourite Chris Harris videos (prefer to ignore the possible product placement)

Stick with it, the first run in the Stratos is relatively sedate :)

Well, this happened:

/DRIVE has been picked up by the NBC Sports Network. Ten episodes of a new show called "/DRIVE on NBC Sports" will be broadcast throughout 2014. The first episode is on this Saturday after the F1 qualifying.

/DRIVE coming to the NBC Sports Network Saturday May 24:

8:00am ET -- LIVE Monaco Qualifying
9:30am ET -- /DRIVE on NBC Sports: Monaco
10:30pm ET -- /DRIVE on NBC Sports: Monaco (re-air)
11:00pm ET -- Off The Grid: Barcelona (re-air)

"But I don't have NBC Sports!" I hear you cry. Do not fear, they have you covered...

Harris is on Twitter suggesting that premium online videos are a possibility. The points are:

- /DRIVE is not leaving YouTube.
- some YouTube videos may end up behind a paywall.
- selling content to a TV network is the only method of sustaining a suitable income to produce the type of content that they do.

That's pretty cool. Glad that they were picked up. This could potentially mean big things for them but I sure hope NBC doesn't changed how they do things.

I saw Matt Farrah post pictures of this trip on Instagram, this is going to be great can't wait to see more of monkey after his video hiatus.
