Any advice on how to change it back? I ask because of what happened over the weekend, see below.

I recently purchased a brand new Drive Hub. I am using it for PS5 compatibility with my Simxperience Accuforce wheel, HE Sprint pedals and Fanatec Clubsport shifter. I have a GIMX adapter connected to my gaming PC and have all of the inputs programmed. The GIMX is connected to the Drive Hub via USB and I have a Hori Mini Pad PS4 controller also connected to the Drive Hub. And I have the mini USB cable connecting the Drive Hub to the PS5.

After everything was set up I fired up the PS5 and it worked great. I was able to control GT7 using my keyboard and wheel. I had FFB on the wheel. I then tried the method of switching from Logitech to Fanatec force feedback and so I pressed the two buttons that replicated Select/Share and Pause/Start. I saw some lights on the Drive Hub. From that point forward, the Drive Hub apparently no longer connected properly and so the PS5 does not recognize my wheel and pedal set. I think I messed up by trying to change to Fanatec FFB. I tried flashing the firmware on the Drive Hub and although I could verify that it changed the firmware, I still can no longer connect to the PS5.

I'm contemplating going the Sigma Cortex route and using all Simagic gear. I'm losing hope that Drivehub will work with the shifter and pedals, including the VNM which only works on beta 35 for me. My p1000 pedals arrive tomorrow. Am I crazy? I'll miss Truforce, this I know. Has anyone gone this route with success?

It's for Fanatec wheels. In guessing you need to get it out of Fantec modes.
You can also open a support ticket at creativeminds.

I emailed a support request to Collective Minds on Monday but have not heard back. Here is a screenshot of what I am seeing after I launch GIMX. The Drive Hub is in racing mode but it does not switch to Fanatec or Logitech mode after I launch GIMX.

Collective Minds responded this morning and asked me to try beta 41 for Simagic/VNM shifter and p1000 compatibility. My pedals arrive tomorrow. Just a heads up to anyone looking to try this out.

@Zero7159

I don't have any experience with gimx.
Do you have your previous drivehub to test?
For fun, try beta 35. I has to roll back from latest beta last week to make my wheel work again.

I miss @Podger

I do not have my prior Drive Hub, I sold it after I bought a Logitech G Pro wheel and pedal set. Unfortunately I sold that wheel and pedal set and went back to my Accuforce and HE pedals, which I love, but they don't natively work on consoles.

I tried multiple firmwares, including beta 35, but no luck. I think something is wrong with the Drive Hub. I bought a new one from Collective Minds directly and returned the one I bought from the eBay seller, which was more expensive anyway.

Did you disconnect the wheel from the DriveHub before trying to switch modes and then power the wheel off then on again - I thought it was something the wheel did to tell DriveHub which mode the wheel was operating in when it first connects to DH. After that power off the DriveHub before reconnecting the wheel. - That's what I do with my very old Fanatec Porsche GT2 wheel.

I did not, perhaps that could have been part of the problem.

I am going to further simplify my set up by using a Logitech G Pro direct drive wheel, instead of the Accuforce. I also have HE Sprint pedals. Based on the compatibility list on the Drive Hub site, I believe that the G Pro wheel and HE pedals are compatible with the Drive Hub and so I should not need GIMX, plus I get the benefit of the G Pro wheel’s outstanding Trueforce feature which is absolutely sublime in GT7. I lucked out and was able to get a G Pro wheel and rim from Logitech for $589. It's refurbished but has a full warranty.

I'm happy to report the Simagic p1000 pedals are working with my VNM shifter on beta 41 via a powered usb. Still no luck with the Simagic shifter, though. I'll keep asking CM for help.

So I wanted to share my setup and process for getting everything up and running in GT7 with my Drive Hub and the Fanatec GT DD Pro because most of the research I’ve found was for the CSL DD and didn’t get into some of the nuances between the two experiences.

Setup applicable here is designed to play GT7 on PS5 Pro with the Fanatec GT DD Pro with 3rd party pedals (SRP GT-Rs in this case). I don’t currently have a shifter or E brake so I can’t speak to those yet.

There is a lot of good info out there already on setup, but here are some KEY things of note I found out on my own:
  • definitely make sure you’re doing multiple searches to get the most recent firmware updates for Drive Hub. I had used an update tool but turns out it was not leveraging the correct version with all the beta releases. This is critical.
  • as of 12/2024 the best source of latest info for Drive Hub seems to be their gitbook info pages. Their drive Hub and collective minds websites tend to have older support details.
  • The GT DD Pro has multiple platform settings but on the PS5 make sure you’re connecting in PS5 blue light mode with the usb plugged into the “controller” port (not wheel/controller)
  • if you’re using SRP GT-R pedals, the usb a to c cable that comes packed in doesn’t support PS compatibility - I had to use a PlayStation usb a to c cable I happened to have. I don’t know the technical reason but that’s been my experience, and don’t know what aftermarket cable would work. Anyone got any ideas?

That’s all I can think of now. I’ll update if I recall anything else helpful.

  • Tried searching for info on gitbook on latest firmware but not able to find them. Can someone help out with a link? What is current latest firmware?

@Podger

Dear Podger,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out as an avid user of the DriveHub and an admirer of your extensive contributions to the community. Your discussions on beta firmware over the years have been invaluable, and I believe you are uniquely positioned to help champion a solution for users with legacy hardware needs.

My personal application involves using a Fanatec Podium (DD1 PS4) with Gran Turismo 6 on the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, as DriveHub firmware evolved to support newer consoles like the PS4 and PS5, compatibility with older systems like the PS3 has been sacrificed. I believe there is a straightforward way to address this by generating new firmware versions specifically tailored to legacy setups.
Here’s my proposal:
  1. New Firmware Modes:
    • Fanatec Podium (DD1 PS4) in ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 Compatibility Mode
      • Emulated as Logitech G27
      • Emulated as Thrustmaster T500 RS
      • Emulated as Thrustmaster T300 RS
  2. Firmware Names for Clarity:
To simplify user selection, each firmware could be labeled clearly in the update application, e.g.:
    • 2.0.9-FV2.5-G27
    • 2.0.9-FV2.5-TMT500RS
    • 2.0.9-FV2.5-TMT300RS
  3. Implementation Notes:
    • The Podium DD1 PS4 already supports compatibility modes, such as the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 mode. The DriveHub firmware could assume this mode when connected.
    • Firmware-specific emulation profiles could align with native PS3-compatible wheels like the Logitech G27, Thrustmaster T500 RS, and T300 RS for optimal compatibility.
    • A user-friendly selection process through the firmware app (as seen in the screenshots) would avoid any confusion.
    • The single 8-segment display could display T-3-0-0-R-S or G-2-7 when emulating a T300 RS or a G27.
This effort would not only address my needs but also benefit the broader DriveHub community, enabling more flexibility for legacy hardware configurations. While I have attempted to contact Collective Minds directly over the years without success, I believe this initiative aligns with the DriveHub's mission to bridge hardware gaps seamlessly.

Your advocacy could make this a reality for many users like me, and I’d be happy to assist further with testing or feedback to refine these firmware builds.

Thank you for considering this request. Please let me know your thoughts, and if there’s any additional information I can provide, I’d be delighted to help.

Best regards,

Good morning gentlemen, is there anyone with a drivehub and Logitech g-pro xbox version using it on the ps5 (gt7 and acc). I recently acquired this steering wheel, but it only works with the drivehub beta 37, the later ones don't work, the ffb has been very frustrating, worse than the csw 2.5+DH that I have here. The zebra only gives a vibration, no satisfactory sensation of the suspension and tire while driving. Can anyone help? What version of DH firmware do you use? Note: g pro is updated.

Ah this sucks. I saw that shifter on the compatibility list and I just ordered one on sale before I re-read this post. Oh well I think most of my driving will remain on PC anyway.

You can give it a shot. Podger emailed me a few days ago and said it should work. I've had no luck. I ordered a Simagic Alpha U setup with a Sigma Cortex to replace my G Pro. Hopefully it goes well.

They really need to remove it from the compatibility list or make it actually compatible. I’d like to order one too.

@Podger emailed you!?! That’s awesome to hear he is ok! He was so great and then gone. Do you know what happened? Has he just left the company and moved on? I’m glad he is ok, he’s a good person.

I was also surprised to hear from him. I imagine he's just super busy. He didn't say anything except there is a guy asking about the shifter for months. I told him that's me! I had over 60 emails back and forth with them. I gave up trying to get it to work.

Well good on him. Shifter sounds insanely frustrating at this point. I can recommend, if you’re looking to venture down different paths now, the Frex Hshift +. Completely different type of unit, but it works plug and play now. Doesn’t have a switch for sequential. It’s just pure badass Hshift. Feels like you’re moving real linkage outside the shift box. Super smooth and fast, you can adjust tension and slam gears if you want without consequence. Simple design that works flawlessly. This thing puts in precise work, great spring, and awesome centering spring.

I have a problem!
My device is a G Pro, but it displays G G29 in GT7. Can't it display G Pro properly and encounter the same problem again? Is there a solution available
