I kinda just jumped in a high speed with the brutal hennessey venom
LOL!!! How on earth did this happen?! Oh man, I just can't wait for replay mode to be added to this beautiful game.
I'd have said more Paul Klee myself (just a joke)
Some very realistic looking stuff there - nice job! (picture selected at random btw)...I am loving this game I really am. I am working my way around the settings, the limitations are endless with a camera on every car or any piece of weather and track...

I'd say that 98% of them come straight from the game, some use filters provided and one or two (who have said it up front somewhere in their post) have been edited.Just to get it cleared up for me: those pictures are all uneditted and come straight from the game's photomode?
Damn, I am really impressed

You will definitely introduce even more compression by uploading to Facebook or Twitter from PS4. Currently, the best solution is to copy them to your PC with the help of a USB-stick and upload to somewhere that doesn't compress your pictures further.
The answer is in the message you quotedI hadn't realised that either. Does uploading to Twitter do the same?

Unfortunately, the compression seems to happen between the game and saving to the PS4 - so direct saving to any site for a photo or indeed a vid, will have the same compression. True, FB or YouTube and Twitter (as Centura pointed out) compresses further....What I would like is a Flickr upload option on PS4 direct from an uncompressed (or at worst very lightly compressed) jpg.
It makes me less inclined to bother sharing having to go down the USB stick route. It really doesn't need to be so difficult. I could upload photos direct from the PS3 XMB straight to Flickr using their old upload tool. Unfortunately that doesn't work with the PS4.
Does anyone have any comparison shots of uploading from a PC verses uploading direct to Facebook from PS4?
On top of that I want to be able to share 1080p gameplay footage. I was pretty disappointed with the quality of video footage from the PS4 share button.
Ah yes. Thanks.
At least I don't have to get a twitter account... phew

Well, highly is a bit of a subjective thing (unless my eyesight has deteriorated far beyond what I thought ) Whilst the compression is a pain, I do think it is a fraction off of the image I'm seeing at the rendering stage, so whilst it's best if it wasn't there, it isn't like the compression rate we used to see on YouTube a year or so ago.If you want to save your time, just upload to Facebook and grab your pictures from there. The amount of compression Facebook adds will likely be minimal as they are already highly compressed from using PS4 SHARE button.
Terrific stuff there @awcar28 especially this last one.

Feel free to shoot me down on that, but I feel it isn't so bad as all that
Well, that makes sense, but that logic applies to any image upscaling - the first rule of image reproduction is don't mention...sorry, is work large, reproduce smallerDepending on what scenario in the photo and the screen you're viewing it on, it can be harder to see the compression...
