I've given up taking pictures in DiRT Rally specifically for this reason - its limitations hurt and seem so much more painful when you go back to DC and everything has options and is so broad and smooth. Luckily I still have my DC revisitation thread to help keep me sane :)

Definitely one of your best! Awesome shot RL!

Thanks xHACHIK0
I can say the same about your shots, stunning job from you with all your pictures  xHACHIK0 👍

Thanks RL!

Here's another from a quick photoshoot with the Veneno. After playing the new R&C I've gone and bought a PS3 to do a complete play-through of the entire series. I'm surprised how well the original still holds up against modern games. Sure, I have a few gripes, such as the lack of strafing (You kind of have a strafing function with the thruster pack, but it's not half as good as in later games) and Ratchets disgusting attitude to Clank, and only having 4 lives throughout most of the game. (I like the extra challenge associated with that though.)

Above all, it's interesting to see the changes/similarities in the planets across both versions, and also the changes to the story.

Anyway... I'll stop rambling and post the photo!

I'd like to start getting more photos out towards the end of this month. Maybe a couple of sets. Will have to see what happens, though I do go by the general rule of quality over quantity, so don't want to just start throwing anything and everything out for the sake of posting more photos.

Wow I am in two minds whether to pick up R&C..Looks like R&C is worth getting then with both of you saying this, so now you have a PS3 will you get GT 6 for the photomode or have you already had a PS3? Great pics as always ^^^👍

P.S I am also considering getting a PS3 (cheap 2nd hand) for some of the exclusive Sony back log games I never got on my 360 i.e GT6 but with GT Sport so near I don't know now, I have put the idea of an Xbox one off due to my experience I had at launch this still puts me off them.

You should definitely get it, especially if you have played previous R&C games (If you haven't played any of the games, then playing this game is the perfect way to start off with the franchise.. In terms of what's different between the two, the original has more planets, but the planets are more in depth and look beautiful on the new version. The old version is what actually happens, whereas the new game is told as a story by Captain Quark via his version of events. The story is also much more in-depth on the new game and covers a lot more on each planet to compensate for the loss of some planets. Both are amazing games, and I highly recommend you play the original too if you haven't already.

As for Gran Turismo, I'm considering getting 6 again. I've briefly played it before, but didn't really give it much of a chance. I know the photomode provides some brilliant opportunities. If you've not had a PS3 before, a franchise I would HIGHLY recommend is God Of War. Those are amazing games. Try not to get it confused with Gears Of War as the two are completely different types of games (Loved Gears 3 btw!) ...As far as the Xbox One goes, I too was put off by their pitiful launch. I did briefly have an Xbox One in December for Forza 6, but while the photomode was extremely good, the fun factor of the game just wasn't there, and the driving physics were extremely agitating. I had to break to what felt like 10 MPH just to go round a corner without veering off the track. In the end I went back to PS4 and Driveclub, and now find that the more I experiment with Driveclubs photomode, the better I find it. I just wish it had classics.

Also, thanks! I'm liking your recent photos too! You always have a great sense of speed in your speed photos, with good composition.👍 If you don't mind suggestions, I'd suggest not using a high aperture at the same time as a high shutter speed. I used to do that all the time, and I've now found that having minimal to no aperture with a high SS works a lot better. Also, in the shots where you have no shutter speed, aperture really helps soften the background and add a better depth of field.

@xHACHIK0 Thanks for this ^^👍 I might bite the bullet and download R&C and leave for 5 days (25.4 GB!) to download (Slow internet)..:) I had an xboxone briefly but had to take it back 3-4 times due to software bugs/crashing/downloads being bigger and I never actually got to play Forza 6! ..I have Forza 4 and still enjoy that, we shall see never say never but the Thrustmaster wheel is not compatible with xbox one so it all gets expensive for 1 game that is just a little better than 4.:indiff:

I have GT3 and a PS2 in the loft but not 4-6 so it would be good to see how it has improved. Again as we said before you can't beat Drive Club for a quality Photomode once you realise the depth and power of its textures with not much compression loss when you transfer even a .jpeg 👍

Edit: On Xbox one I believe I read you still can't save a quick screen shot/photo straight to USB yet and it has to be uploaded to forzamotorsport still and copied/shared from there is that still the case (v.annoying) for quick photos?

Brought Digital copy- R&C starting to download I might dig out the old PS2 copy now -must be 5-10 years since I plugged this in!

I loved FM4. Was heavily involved in the Forzatography community back then. It was a shame when FM5 came along as most of the community, myself included left.

With the photomode, I'm now learning to take advantage of the different filters depending on what I want out of a photo. There's several filters I use now and some have even sorted out the issue I had with contrast. It would still be nice to be able to manually adjust contrast and brightness levels like you can on Forza as it gives greater freedom, but as an all round photomode, I agree, Driveclub is right up there with the likes of Forza and Gran Turismo, with each of the three also catering to different styles on-top.

On Forza, yes, you still have to download the photos via Forzamotorsport.net... They've also taken out the "BIGSHOT" function, so you are stuck with one resolution. At least on PSN you can take screenshots in PNG format now, as you don't suffer as much loss in quality. On PSN I also love how fluid it is with sharing screenshots into communities. Communities were not a thing when I sold my old PS4 last year, so it was a nice surprise when I got back.

Glad you decided to get R&C. You'll enjoy it!!!

I'm going to let go a little bit now DC I caught U4 and photo mode is just crazy 🤬:dunce: .. a few screens without major spoil of course..
With pictures from a photo mode like that, I think we'll all be preoccupied there and letting DC go gently. Now I can't wait until tomorrow...

EDIT: I see now that you already have the game.
