How are you guys getting your photos to this quaility? It's not just flickr is it?

I usually share to Facebook but the photo quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Most of us transfer the photos to a USB and upload them directly to Gtplanet.

I even got inspired to jump in to DC and play around with Photo Mode.

I genuinely thought I got some beautiful photos of an Aston Martin and then I looked at them in the Capture Gallery and I was horrified, more than I have ever been before. I'm sorry I keep bringing this up, but it really is beyond stupid.

Give them a bit more time to work it out, and I'm sure they will find a way to render pictures as PNGs instead. After all, they seem as enthralled by the results so far, despite the compression, so they are going to want the best.

PNG's would be great. I think I'll fiddle with some shots in Photoshop or Lightroom

This is something Sony should fix with SHARE, not each and every developer. I just can't comprehend how anyone thought 200 kB @ 1920x1080 was a good idea. It really shouldn't be that hard to at least give us an option to save much higher quality JPG (> 1 MB) or preferably, PNG. But considering this didn't happen in 2.0 I do not have faith in Sony fixing this for a very long time. All I can hope for is that Evolution recognises the problem and gives us the ability to export directly from the game.

Anyway, massive, massive respect to DC's Facebook page for actually going to individual forums to find beautiful photographs and highlighting them on their page.

EDIT: I should probably contribute to the thread with some actual photos instead of repeatedly bitching about SHARE:

Why am I not impressed by photomode? Ok for the details, but in terms of photorealism for now I think PD is still at the top.
Trouble is, GT saves it's rendered pics as PNGs, so no image quality loss happens between game and what we see on the forum. DC uses the share button which compresses the image with a result that quite a bit of the finer tones and details get subsumed by the neighbouring tones.

If you could see what we see when we capture the image...it's beautiful.

Yeah, I feel like my shots tend to lose a bit of definition and color accuracy when I check them on my computer... Then again it doesn't help that my Dell Inspiron 3521 laptop screen has a very strange tone to it @ 1366x768 only :(.

Not only that, Gran Turismo is doing way, way more in photo mode to make it look better.

Compression and flawless AA aside, what you see in these photos is what you get, running in real time.
