Quick question is there a way to switch off the photomode button on the ds4. My clumsy fingers keep tapping it mid race. Lol

I don't think there is from memory but isn't the touch pad right up the top of the controller, I have never hit that you must be having fun! ;) You will need the other half (left side) of the touch pad to reset the car quickly to get back on track, I think if it is possible the best thing would be to remap the button to one you don't use etc..Enjoy the game it is one of the best sim-arcade games out there! 👍

Cheers. :-) all good now just getting familiar with the ds4.

I grabbed a new base ps4 a few days ago. Hadn't played a car game on current gen yet. I'm glad i picked DC as the first one. There is alot to like about this game. It takes alot of the good from alot from the car games out there. And I love the almost zero loading times compared to ps3 gt6 etc.

Had my 5yo son have a go, I turned all the assists on and its the first time he's had a blast on a car game because with the assisted braking and recentering etc he was able to complete a race on his own.

This will be the first time i've had more then one game with a console (once gt sport comes out). Normally i buy a PS console with GT and the disc stays in until the next gen console at GT game superseeds it. lol

ive ordered one of those gimx converters to see if i can get my old faithfu DFGT to run on the PS4 for DC. While I sneak $10wk away in a "new wheel" account.

I use GIMX to get my CSR working with DC and newer games (it works natively with Pcars, Dirt Rally, etc.). It works a treat.

When you get your wheel going, racing games/sims can be a great tool to help your little ones learn to drive. My boy is ready for karting thanks to starting him in the sims, and he's not quite 5 yet.

These videos are from close to a year ago:

^^ This was my very plan a few years ago :ill:-It all started with DriveClub and now I have so many Driving/Other games on PS4!..

If you get a chance as you like sim racing at some point try to pick up Assetto Corsa, DiRT rally, Project Cars as they often come up with deals on them or second hand in game stores.

P.S Not all PS4 games load as quick as DriveClub...;)

@Mike_grpA Awesome, he looks better than some of the videos on here, a :gtplanet:driver in the making at this young age..:P
👍

Thats awesome! @Mike_grpA very impressive. Glad to hear good results for the gimx. Because i also bought second hand projector that can do a 7 metre screen in HD for $50 lol, id like to have two wheel setups when i have mates over

@torque99 i know the do come up cheap DC was $5 on gumtree. Ill probably grab them when i see them come up. But i think DC and GT will be where i put time into.

If anyones got a spot in a club for an active DC player let me know.

Seasons greetings guys (and maybe gals) don't post here as much as I used to but wishing all of you a great Christmas...mine is going to be fantastic as right now I'm off to Manchester airport for a flight to Thailand and then Hong Kong for New Years Eve :gtpflag: it's a hard life I know :P

i just picked up the game for $17.xx from Target. good deal? I'm wondering if i bought the right game...

It is a very good game and certainly one of the best and complete racers on PS4. Don't expect simulation like PCars or Assetto Corsa but more PGR-feeling.

There is a hardcore mode for a more challenging driving experience but the standard mode combined with the career should offer plenty of great and fun challenges.

browsing the PS Store for the first time in a few, I found the free add-on section  Which i never saw before(mind you) And looking around found a few free add-ons for DC :D

AMG tour pack :) now i can continue the elite levels

With DC, X-mas has become an all year round event. There's been no game that has given so much.

Just picked up DC along with PS4 Slim yesterday. Got DC on sale for $17.00 while I wait for GTS to release. I was able to play 10 min this morning. OMG coming from PS3 GT6, DC graphics are amazing. can't wait until I play some more...

Just did the same thing. I cant even go back to GT6 seasonals now. Having a lot of fun with it. I really hope GT sport takes the good from this game and tries to better it. The rain is crazy, scenery, aggressive car sounds, quick load times, graphics and the list could go on and on.

Bit late to the party, but I finally got to try Driveclub a few days back. Ahh, It is so refreshing to play an arcade racer that has good physics 👍👍 Even with a controller I can tell it's done well. From the very first corner you know you have the car under control. Drifting is very intuitive. Reminds me a lot of PS1 era NFS. Graphics are gorgeous. Night and rain racing is properly scary. Sounds are acceptable. I find it to be a bit muffled (like you're wearing earmuffs or a helmet), but the basic sounds are correct as far as I can hear. AI is very competitive and the career mode is humongous  Car list is amazing. Track list, I wished they have gone with more locations and less tracks per location, like the old NFS games. But it's a bit much to expect with DC graphics I suppose.

About the only thing I don't like is penalties. A bit weird to see it implemented in an arcade game like this. If you're cutting massive sections of the track, sure. But I cut grass in a chicane just a little bit and was penalised severely. Kinda dampens the fun a bit.

Definitely picking up a copy next year along with PS4 once GTS drops. Would be interesting to try it with a wheel too 👍

Man, I don't want to be bitter but seeing all you guys enjoy DriveClub now makes me wonder how things could have turned out if the game didn't have such a crappy reputation at launch leading to the huge price cuts and lack of interest...It really is a special game.

Merry Xmas All & Happy Holidays  to the Drive Club side of Forum :P

There is an option hidden away in the menus that allows you to change the sound from 'interior' (muffled cockpit) to 'exterior' (exhaust), I am not sure if you had this on/off. This makes a big difference if you are in cockpit for example as switching to exterior gives a nice loud sound and back fires etc.

It is very refreshing to hear positive comments on DC all this time in, if you have played most arcade/sim games the physics are a perfect balance for a quick blast on the DS4, the wheel is a touch harder as you spin out more but with practice gets better.👍

@sems4arsenal Totally agree :gtpflag:very chilled in this part (nothing like the other sub sections) GT:yuck:

To all new newbies to DC, I know this seems obvious but if you leave the crowd 'Large' the 'wind flags' stay on the track while you are learning them all. The red, yellow, green are the braking corner markers as there are no braking lines etc red flags (tight turn) yellow (medium) green (easy turn) etc When the game was new quite a few didn't realise this. 👍

Adding onto this, they only indicate how sharp a turn will be. NOT when to brake. Every car is different. Some will stop on a dime, but others take very long to slow down. I haven't played in a while so I can't come up with any examples right now.

haven't played for 6 months and jumped back in, man I missed driveclub, got the last two DLC tours I missed and back to chasing lap records: the new city tracks are a lot of fun! I just wish there were some endurance races in multiplayer, unfortunately it all still seems to be 3 laps and done, wish there were some 25 lap events!
