Driver: San Francisco

Hopefully it's as good as the first one. Classic PS One game. 👍

Edit: That was awesome. Remake of the first one?

Can't wait for this!
Love the advert - takes me back to the good old days of Driver for the PS1 :D

Awesome!!, nice retro advert.;)

I hope because they've used real cars in the trailer we will get licensed ones in the game.👍

I wouldn't say I'm waiting on this game, keeping in mind the way the series went, but I am most certainly interested.

Best open world driving games for the PS1. I greatly enjoyed both PS1 Driver games. Looking forward!

Driver 1-3 were personal favourites, those were possibly some of my favourite games for PS1 and 2 back when I was little. I only played it for driving, I dont think I ever did much story (never was a storyline kid), hopefully this isnt a GTA rip off like the last two...

OMG that's the driving test you had to take on Driver 1 before you could start with the story mode! I'm excited now.

Unless they completely change the game the cars will only resemble real cars.

I'm in the same mind, first two were good, the following two were not good in any shape or form.

I just wanted to say exaclty the same. In the parking lot doing the best time. Iconic

Yeah, classic PSone games. Used to have a real blast playing the driving games with mates. I am probably one of the few people who liked Driv3er on PS2: the cities were so well realised, especially Miami. And the driving physics were consistenly brilliant in all 3 games. Screeching round corners and down alleys whilst chasing somebody or getting away from cops was so 'Starsky and Hutch', much more so than any of the GTA games. I hope they bring back what made the Driver games great. But I would also like them to bring back Destruction Derby as well!

I quite liked Driv3r as well, unfortunately the on foot stuff was pretty woeful which ended up taking away alot from the game for many. It was still solid though as you mentioned the driving was still fun and that's what really matters.

Yeah, the quality and feel of the driving was so good that you don't really need on-foot sections. Just expand the game to make the driving as good and as varied as possible. There are plenty of brilliant moments in classic car-chase movies that havent been implemented in games, and I think Driver should come back with a bang and take it's influences from most of these.

Oh please oh please make it like the original Driver game. Driv3r was a poor reflection of the series and the less said about Driver 4 the better.

I do kind of wish that they would make the "test" more like the original one in the Driver movie...

I see what you did there.

Regarding Driv3r, I thoroughly enjoyed that game. Yes, the on-foot controls were AWFUL, but the driving physics were really fun, and the graphics and scenery amazing for a game of that genre and era. You couldn't just floor it and drive around, you actually had to slow down and meticulously apply handbrake in order to do quick turns. That's what I've always loved about the Driver series, and (with the exception of GTAIV) they always excelled on this over GTA.

What? There was a Driver 4? When did that happen? Or maybe you mean the PSP one?

Yes, Driver: Parallel Lines.

Not as good as Driv3r.

Oh gawd. That didn't look bad at all... The cockpit view is AMAZING as well as the arms animation with full 900 degree steering! I didn't really like the "Comma points" power thingy... but everything else looked stunning. :)

The last Driver I bought was Parallel Lines, I didnt buy Driv3r. It was ok, graphics looked great on PS2 (maybe even better than GTA-SA) but the gun control was so annoying.

This one sounds good but San Francisco seems like its been played out. Developers, there are other exciting cities out in the world you know! They are scared that a game not set in the US wont sell.

Robin.

Let's hope tey don't screw it up. The first game was good. The second game had an interesting storyline, but terrible gameplay. The third game had a poor storyline and poor gameplay.

I don't know about that. When's the last time you played a game with San Fran in it? The last one I played was Midtown Madness 2, I think. (Or Enthusia). It's a fun city to race around in. I bet someone creates a "see who can clear the semi game. Or try to recreate the Lumbard Street jump from MM2

Ubisoft had so much potential for this game but it looks like something that belongs on PS2. The graphics are wayy under par and I noticed they couldn't pull the Porsche license either

It's got my interest. However, I'm positive it'll have to wait til' I'm done with GT5, NFS, TDU2, Black Ops, & Reach. Fall is going to be amazing this year. :D
