Driver: San Francisco

I can't wait for a major patch/update to be released for this game. All the leaderboards need to be reset thanks to cheaters like ZiBeGamer. And the Bullet Challenge leaderboard is FULL of cheaters. The top nine people completed it in .03 seconds, so there's an exploit there. Also, I played against someone today who was just ungodly fast. I hated playing tag against him 'cause he'd get it and just fly away and it was almost as if he could see the car I was hovering over because by the time I shifted, he'd hightailed it the other way. And even if I had the same car on an open stretch of road, he'd be WAY faster than me. I don't know if that's because of his level, but, it was a little insane.

Is it me...or does this game have better physics than GT5 and/or Forza? The weight of the cars...the movement...feels right. But then again, this is a Ubisoft game.

Wow just got and completed this one ,shouldn't be missed in my opinion ,Mega kudos to the shift feature when i first heard about i though meh they ruined it,however know I feel glad they added it .Loved every part of the game ,impressed by the car list aswell plus interior view and a great soundtrack not a bad story aswell.

Been a while since a game surprised me that much ,I think I'm gonna play it again, split screen as well so fun all around

Exactly how I feel, although i've not completed it yet. 👍 I'm really enjoying the old Driver features and the movie token missions. Got my copy for really cheap too so that makes it even better!

The story gets better as you play along, clever story imo .There aare some great tracks aswell downloaded a few yesterday. Have fun completing it m8.

Never gave this game a chance and let it slip through my radar but after learning that TonyHawk HD won't be out for a while on PS3 and stubbling across this thread a few days ago it seems everyone is agreed it's great all out fun so after some research i'm looking to get it very soon.

I heard it has an online pass but there was some problems with it at one point, anyone know if i can buy this used and not worry about the online pass?

Personally I'd be buying it new, as it makes use of a "UPlay Passport" which allows you to play online and unlock rewards. Buying it new also features the Film Director Mode, its fun. I still mess around with it to this very day.

UbiSoft disabled the UPlay thing because a printing SNAFU on their part made it so a lot of copies didn't come with a valid code. You still log in with UPlay and whatnot, but the download is free for everyone.

I would still buy it new, because it's a great game that absolutely deserves it, but you don't have to if you don't want and you'll still get all the same functionality.

Just noticed how Impressive the car list is O.o, there is a lack of japanese car(not that us GTers will complain)but Ubisoft have done a great job with this, haven't touched online yet will give it a go.

I was always a hardcore Driver fan, played 1 and 2, even with a wheel lol, and driv3r was one of my most played games on the ps2, the physics were great for the time. I have to get this because my man sems said so :D

Waheed bro, not sure if it has Logitech wheel support?

Thanks for the feedback everyone, new game it is! and special thanks to you sureboss for spotting it so cheap on shopto, will be picking this up on payday.

Just finished the story mode, and I regret not getting the game earlier, because this is one of the most fun game I've ever played. It's right up there with Burnout Paradise as far as fun factor. The story is pretty neat, there's an awesome collection of cars, from the Mclaren F1 to the slightly obscure Abarth 500 and the classic Hudson Hornet. The music selection is awesome, giving a good sense of high-speed driving well matched with the machinery being driven.

The shift feature is awesome, and is very well integrated into both the game and the story. The commentary is hilarious, especially when shifting into a random persons' car. I came up on one couple in a van where the female passenger said "remember, we got to get into a crash for the insurance scam!" (Ironically, I was trying to crash into street racers with it ). I also had a really...hands-on partner in a cop car once as well. :scared::lol:

My only gripe really is with the drifting. Normally, car physics take a seat in the back with me, but there were two things I noticed: 1) On some cars, it's just a bit too easy to get into a drift. This became annoying when I was doing certain race or checkpoint races, and I would get slowed down, or even give just the slightestr tap of the brakes into a corner. 2) Some cars felt like they had NO grip. The Zonda is a good example. It would feel like I was about to drift 9/10 straight into a wall. The upside though, is that it's only bad for a few cars here & there. (And my terrible driving overall on PC :)) The driving is pretty solid overall. 👍

TL;DR-Get this game if you haven't. Seriously, you won't regret it. 👍

It does have some sim esque features where if you hammer it on some cars you won't go anywhere (they turned off Traction controls for all cars).what's your fav soundtrack guys, mine is Labyrinth- The Cure ,so glad i got introduced to this astonishing track.

Edit: Now I can say which gripes I have with this, Cops are dumb tbh you can drive circles around them (literally) Smash into other cars, cause havoc yet they only seem to run after you when you touch their cars, street lights are 99.9% green which although is kind off explainable in the story but isn't fun when you are cruising .All cars over steer even the Audis if I remmember correctly,Jericho should have been more bad ass and finally the CGI cut scenes are ultra impressive so when you cut back on normal gameplay it looks terrible.

Picked this up this weekend from my local Best Buy for $15 brand new. After a couple hours of playing, this is a superb game. I'm going to completely agree with what speed157 has posted. Besides, when I first booted up the game the first thing I noticed...

... There's a Freakin' Dodge Neon. A Dodge Freakin' Neon. :D I did exclaim it rather loudly with joy for no reason, I will not lie about it.

My favorite soundtracks are The ChiLites-Are You My Woman (And the other 1970's songs), The Herbaliser-On your Knees, and...*puts on flame suit* Back Door by The Black Keys.

Edit: As far as cops, on normal free-run chases, they seem to perform better in general high-speed pursuits. The only time I had problems were the missions where you had to get away in a certain time limit and the fuzz would relentlessly run into you, taking themselves out along the way.

Yeah these missions are really difficult, I'm not a driver fan but do these random cars you jump in have anything to do with previous Driver games and/or missions? Or is just random stuff

Ohh my interest in this game has been reignited, so many glowing reports here, will have to pick it up! One quick question, sorry if it's been answered but tis a long thread, can you unlock cars (all cars?) to use from the get go in free roam rather than having to shift into them? I mean can you build a kinda garage?

In the demo I found the whole shifting thing a little weird and vague to be honest, perhaps I need to play the full game but I would like to think I can just drive the cars I like best out of my own lock up eventually?
