In the near future, I'm probably going to be a perfect candidate to drive in Russia. :P

I think I'm going to install a dashcam.

Russia, you never cease to amaze me
Here we see Petyr Maldonadov.

I want russia to drive those bendy buses

Bendy Bus+A typical Russian Driver=Double Drift.
I was in a such situation once. Not fun. I was sitting in the very rear of one of those bendy buses and the driver was driving in an extremely spirited manner for such a vehicle, the bus also was an old Karosa thing that was pretty much falling apart. Anyway, so we're going maybe 70-80 km/h on a narrow road through woods (the speed limit there is 70km/h btw, not that buses actually go that fast there normally) and it hits a relatively small crest that was enough to launch the bus snaking from side to side through the whole width of the 2-lane road. The bus was quite empty so I could see all the way through the windshield. I sincerely thought that it'll hit either the oncoming van or a tree, somehow though, the driver managed to save it and for the rest of the journey we were crawling at snail's pace

There are lots of them.
They used to be ancient Ikarus buses in the past, but now, all of them are modern (LiAZ, MAZ and Volzhanin models).

And they produce some lulz, too:
"There's no way back! I hope I won't hit it! ... Uh, that was close!"

This one is in Lviv, Ukraine. A bus stuck in the snow and broke the "accordion" while trying to get out. :D

I saw this yesterday:
Rusty Silvia S15. Now you've seen everything.

What's next, a rusty R35 GT-R? :D

Aww, StopKham... Risky guys :D

BTW, yesterday, there was a Ford Focus near my house that was peeping its security alarm all the night. Next day, somebody put a stone on its roof (through a paper, not to damage the car) and stuck a sheet with this text:

Dear car owner!
Please, turn off the alarm, because a car with no windows won't need it.

A kind underslept neighbour.

Does anyone know the knew channel name for the VodkaTV guy who posts monthly compilations of russian dash cams?

Are those ladas decent cars?
They look like they'd make a good track day car, just pop in a better engine like a 4AGE and being light they would go pretty well around a corner.

Lada Priora Coupe + actual aero bodykit + BMW Z4 GT3 engine = Instant Lada racecar.

The owner of the S15 needs to be smacked hard, really hard  :/ rusty Silvia :banghead:

Kinda close.
The 2105/07 (and the rest of the rear wheel drive Lada series called Zhigulee, known as Lada Riva in the UK) have chassis of the Fiat 124, known for good handling. It's a cheap compact car that almost any poor student (like me, lol) can afford. But, if you have some will, skill and time, you can make it a cheap sport car. The chassis has some potential.
My friend from Tver has a Five (2105). He was working on it for the whole winter. He already tuned the engine up (forged pistons, and more, and even a Garrett turbo kit as he told).
Oops, someone didn't tighten the wheel! :D

This is his previous car, The Seven (21074). Not so deeply modified.
He called her "Nana-Yon" ("Seven-Four" in Japanese). :D

95% of modified Ladas are made by ricers...

But sometimes, there are really nice projects:

In Soviet Union (Lithuanian SSR), there were rally cars produced, called Lada 2105 VFTS.

The Zhigulee is also tuned for drifting sometimes. Some take part in RDS (Russian Drift Series) championship. They are usually modified heavily, and the engine is swapped (e.g. for SR20DET from Nissan Silvia).

^With the lack of engine power, Zhigulee shows its best in ice drifting. The latter one is an older model, Lada 2101 (1970-1988).

There are not many cars today that are compact, rear wheel drive and cheap. And if you live in a post-Soviet country, look for a cheap car for sports driving (but not on city streets, please!) and ready to spend some time and money to tune it - the Zhigulee may be your Hachi-Roku (AE86). :sly:

Priora is FWD. It cannot into serious racing. :sly:

What about Skyline R33? I think I saw some rusty ones, too. :D

It seems like there's three types of cars in Russia: Normal ones, Ladas, and rusty piles of crap with 4 wheels and an engine.

Although, the latter two can be combined.
The first and the third can be combined, too. Even Silvia S15.
And the second includes other Russian/Soviet cars, too, not only Ladas. Because GAZ, Moskvitch, UAZ and the Ukrainian ZAZ are seriously different from normal cars, too.

You have to admit, those Ladas are sturdy cars. :D

I used to live in Hull where there was an excellent cargo route to Russia-land. An ull kid made his fortune buying old UK Ladas, breaking them down for parts (presumably by rocking them slightly) and then selling the bits back in Russia. Incredible while it lasted! Hull had lots because we were the main target. I mean, the main import point. Figures, really.

Yeah i want a 2107.

It will be unique down here.

Light, good with fuel, has track day potential and be a good bare bones car.
