Driving shoes with wheel

Had been using a DFP since start of GT4, and was bare-footed (the plastic pedals were easy on the feet).

Recently upgraded to the G25, and felt the need for shoes (heel toeing, more force, metal pedals, etc.). I had these as casuals, but now dedicated GT5-P shoes :D

Then bought a pair of these for casual wear, just because :P

Everybody knows red shoes make you drive faster hehe

Those things are hot, how much does a pair cost? I might ask for some this xmas or something.

Edit: 2nd pair that is.

No gloves yet, been holding off until I can find the right pair. Must be light, breathable, and sticky. I have an Ebonite bowling glove that has silicone drizzled on the palm and index and pinky fingers for excellent grip. I'd like to find gloves like that for driving.

I'm usually racing in socks. If I use shoes (New Balance running shoes) or even slippers, more often than not, the left edge of my left foot gets hung up on or presses the clutch while braking.

It was posted in a different board here, wrestling shoes seem to be the way to go. They are light, firm yet flexible bottoms, and have a small footprint; unlike gym shoes or slippers.

I use driving socks too, otherwise my feet stick to the pedals and I can't use the pedals properly.

With all of my previous wheels with plastic pedals, I used to race either bare foot or with socks, just found it uncomfortable with shoes on. Yet since i got my G25, i always race with shoes on & socks or bare feet feel wrong. With shoes on i just feel like i have better control over the pedals.

just socks

I've always just worn socks. The G25 is the only wheel I've tried that even allows for comfortable driving with shoes. The DFP's pedals were too flimsy.

Socks only. It gives me great feel but my feet don't stick to the pedals.

No gloves.

It's not just me then:sly:Looks like socks are the prefered footware
for racing.

Sometimes I wear my gloves, they have cut outs on fingers.. Makes the wheel feel bit thicker. But shoes? no, I play with socks on, Shoes don't give me the feeling, and pedals are too close, so i might step on Brake and Gas at the same time.

I have something similar, but black and gray, bit diff design.

Swead(spelling?).I use them to work on cars and around the house. It is like a secound skin as they are thin. You can get thicker ons that have a gel padding on the palms and fingers. They breath very nicely. No binding at all and come in all sizes and colours.

Wow, and I thought I was wierd using socks, just about everyone does!

its a game..................................

can't belieive this thread..............

good night.

I'm guessing you either don't have a wheel or never play the game more than 5mins at a time/in a day.:sly:

I usually wear Vans Slip Ons since they are simple and light. But other times i just go bare foot since not enough grip in socks lol no my feet dont sweat lmao it's just more friction on the Pedal with your foot lol

I also can't drive with bare feet ... must have socks on :).

For wheel I used my OMP racing gloves once for a joke (in drifting) and found them very good and I am using them since them. I love the grip and feel of G25 wheel with them.

Umm, has anyone ever actually worn a helmet while playing GT5?

I use socks myself though will drive barefooted even if its not 100% comfortable. Can't get any pedal feel with shoes on. At the same time though I can't heel and toe with just socks. Keep hurting the side of my foot on the pedals trying to do it, so I usually just don't use the clutch on the G25 and drive with 2 feet.

Also drove to a mates house with it on once.

👍 I don't know how people can be so flexible as to heel-toe with these pedals.

just socks, got cold feets when playing without socks so, keeping my feet nice and warm in my socks. using a DFGT) think i will try on race(kart) shoes some time and see what happens.

Socks, my shoes are a bit thick and you get no feel (as if you really need it) and its not exactly like I'm gonna go out and buy a pair of Driving Force Pro shoes...

They retail for $160 AUD. You can get them (plus BMW Sauber, Red Bull, Ducati, etc.) from official Puma stores, plus many other footware outlets (e.g. Footlocker. Not sure what you guys have in the States though :) )
