///DR's Fanatec Porsche Carrera Wheel and Rennsport Wheelstand Review\\\

I pulled the rubber off the feet of the clubsports and put industrial strength velcro on.

I can lift the entire thing (all 35+ pounds of wheelstand and clubsports) just lifting the clubsport pedals.

It's a very solid way to attach the clubsports to the base of the wheelstand.

Good idea. 👍

I cannot wait to get my hands on my Fanatec gear, but with it all being so expensive, is it wise to fold it all together on the rennesport stand and store in a cupboard, or would you recommend packing it away all together?

With previous Fanatec wheels (Turbo, Turbo S, GT3RS) if one wanted to play GT5:P you had to set the system date back (some technical bug). However, this is no longer the case. All newer Fanatec wheels (PWTSUE, GT3RSV2, and the PWC) are plug and play. No tinkering needs to be done in order to play games like Prologue.

@Fanatec:

What's the technical background of this strange bug in the older wheels?

It is more about policies and technical standards...

I cannot tell you the whole story but I am just happy that we found a solution in order to open up the Playstation console for more wheels and end the monopoly.

We always had a good relationship with Sony and Polyphony and it is good that you have a choice.

The way the RSWS folds up, it
is perfectly safe to keep everything attached. If you're worried about dust, just keep a sheet over it in the closet.

@caliwator, The website says nothing about the Carrera Wheel being out of stock. My understanding from discussions in the forums at fanatecwheel.com, is that the Carrera Wheel is, in fact, shipping in the US. The website I just mentioned is an excellent resource BTW.

Be warned however, that many many people are experiencing issues getting their Fanatec products in a timely fashion...and their Customer Support is excruciatingly bad. I myself placed an order for the Carrera Wheel set on January 20th. I got an email on January 21st stating that payment was received and my order would ship. I have heard nothing from the company since that time. Really...nothing. Despite multiple email and phone calls, postings in their official forums at 911wheel.com, official 'Contact Us' web forms. Repeated inquiries about a UPS tracking number to make sure that my shipment is en route have gone unanswered. It is now January 31st...soon to be the 1st of February...and I have not received my Carrera Wheel Set, nor do I have the ability to track my shipment...if it actually shipped at all which I cannot get anyone at the company to tell me.

I understand that this company makes superior peripherals, but you must know ahead of time that if something goes wrong you're going to have a very hard time getting any response from Fanatec. I still haven't figured out how to do it. And a Google search will quickly let you know that people have been complaining about Fanatec's Customer Service and lack of response for at least 2 years. There are even seemingly encouraging postings from the companies founder Thomas stating that they have plans in place to improve communication and service for their customers...that was 2 years ago.

That said, I've been in communication with a fellow who ordered a Carrera Wheel on the same day as me, got a confirmation email followed shortly by a tracking number, and he apparently has had his wheel since last week. I still can't get the time of day from Fanatec.

I wish you luck. This is my first time buying a racing peripheral, I figured I'd do it right. So far, I'm not enjoying any benefits of giving my money to the small but mighty Fanatec.

Weird, I ordered mine on the 20th as well and it also shipped the next day and received it the 27th.

I got the wheel now! Love it!
But i think its really hard to do drifting with it.. It is hard to turn fast. Anyone else experiencing this?
