DS4 snap countersteer lock (read OP)

Previous gts and the beta had better controls. Hope they fix this combination of unresponsive and too responsive when countersteering.

A new "Known Issues" post has been put up by PD today, and:

Issues being corrected after the release of the product version

- We will increase the steering speed on the standard Dualshock 4 to improve controllability while oversteering and drifting

So well done on the research, discussion + reporting folks, with any luck this thread will turn out to be a successful one. 👍

Great news. Hopefully all the GT apologists will come in here and eat a bit of humble pie. Oh and props to PD for reacting to this so quickly.

I think the opposite - this feels right, and Pcars2 now feels too responsive on the pad.
Anything to add...

Good on them to acknowledge it, but this was their chance to impress anyone who was tentatively curious about the game and didn't play the closed beta, like me. :boggled:

I don't want to have anything to do with a game that plays how the beta did, and now I'm left in the dark.

I'm glad its recognised but is it a sensitivity problem? I feel as if the issue only turns up when you're at full lock and for some reason theirs a big input delay there. They may still fix it with those words so I hope.

There is no lag specifically from full lock?

It's only the steering wheel 'animation' with its limited angle.

The tires turn fine if you watch with the outside camera.

It's weird that the delay only presents itself when you release the analog from full lock, but not when you initiate it.

Yeah, I wouldn't characterize it as a sensitivity problem or even a input delay, but rather a problem with the programmed countersteer logic. Too eager to correct and too reluctant to return to center. I found it unmanageable across the whole sensitivity slider bar, from -2 to 7.

Thanks everyone that participated in the thread and reporting the issue.

Congratulations I'm very happy. PD finally listens to our feedback (even though I'd like to know how they found out about it).

The message makes me feel like they really did listen to our complaints since they used literally the same words and terms as we did.

Well, I moaned on 3 different threads here, on the GT twitter, tweeted @Kaz directly and filled out the survey

Me too post on different site youtube, tweet to Kaz,PD, and survey finally. Drift is so important for me in fact until now i only use time trial to test drift and didn't touch other mode.

Thankfully (and hopefully) there's going to be a remedy for this. Just tried doing an online sport Gr.3 race with the Huracan GT3, impossible to correct. In order for you to get the car to respond you have to turn sensitivity up. Doing that makes every steering input want to turn the car all the way around. Couldn't turn it into slow-speed turns without the rear wanting to come around while having enough 'steering lock' to make it turn. You end up having to baby the stick to turn the car, or tap it. That didn't work especially with the rammers out in force pushing you off track, SR rating be damned

Phew, that’s a relief! Awesome too, LOVE the way PD are really listening to all our feedback.

The only thing that makes me worried is how long "after the release" it'll be. Hopefully very shortly, I really want to play the game after experiencing the demo.

Yeah I think it’ll be one of their priorities on the post launch fixes. We’ll probably have a chunky day one patch with a ton of fixes, this might come in the second update (hopefully).

Someone posted a picture of a day one patch, version 1.01, being downloaded. The size was 11GB.
