DSJ: Vol 7 - '05 Ford Mustang GT

Yeh, the car's a bit of a handfull. I will download that vid now. I was inspired by Gushi as he's so young and talented, and by Vaughn Gittin 'cos he manages to produces so much smoke it's un believable. I want to have both these 500bhp+ 'Stangs avaliable in GT5.

Also can you post up your settings please!

I put n3's in the front, and n2's in the back..I really didn't wanna stagger tires but i had no choice..the understeer was getting to me..I've been making small progress with it, and it's almost to my likings..Once i get it down i'll post.

P.S. i have JR as a friend on myspace..i should just ask him what his settings are..haha

Ok, I'm sorry for re-bumping this topic again. But, as no settings were posted, I was forced to come up with some of my own:

05' Ford Mustang GT:

Power: 496bhp!

Parts to buy:
Racing Exhaust
Sports Chip
Supercharger kit
Racing Brakes
Brake Controller
Racing Suspension
Fully Customisable Transmission
Triple Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Carbon Propellor Shaft
Weight Reduction Stage 3
Stiffness (optional)
LSD Fully Customisable
Tyres N3 Front/N2 Rear (Important!!)

Settings:

Suspension -
Spring Rate: 9.5/9.0
Ride Height: 96/96
Damper Bounce: 2/3
Damper Rebound: 2/3
Camber: 2.0/0.6
Toe: 0/0
Stabs: 1/1

Aids: All Off

LSD: 10/32/15

Transmission: Depends on track (auto 9/10 usually)

------

Notes: Have to have good throttle control, but is actually quite a good drift car which is easy to link together turns and if you make use of the power wisely is actually quite a friendly drift-mobile. Try it out.

dont know if i can help because i lack knowledge of cars for the most part but id like to try it out and btw if i want to make settings for another car do i post another thread?

There are 9 other DSJ Volumes floating around. Links to each are located in the first post of the DSJ Nominations Thread.

If there's a different car that you'd like the DSJ to cover, try nominating it in the Nominations Thread.

If you just have settings you'd like to share, you can post them up in the Drift Settings Depot

Yeh this is an awesome car! but, i prefer the Shelby Mustang, much more torque, so you can stay in the 4th gear forever and the wheels wont stop spinning, and its still is very "manouverable".

This is my attempt to drift Ford Mustang GT '05:
This car is harder to drift for newbie like me. An e brake will only make it slide a little, brake normally can induce drift but still hard to do, using feint drift end up making me spin. So all that left is a very basic drift, power over :D. I use the same principle as my Falken GT-R, making the front and rear tire create the same slide, but this time I make it equal on full throttle turning. On test it seems that the rear has more grip, so I increase the rear camber until it has the same lateral grip as front tire.
The result is I can now do my slow crawl drift a bit relax. Brake, turn, full throttle, let the rear drift and enjoy the view .

Modification:
supercharger
N1 Tire (all)
FC suspension

Spring rate: 15.0/11.0
Ride height: 156/156
Shock bound: 1/10
Shock rebound: 1/10
Camber: 0.0/4.5
Toe: 0/+4
Stabilizer: 7/1

Edit: I just found out that using demon camber is a cheap way to make the car drift, but for newbie it is ok right :dopey:?
About control, I don't know, I sustain drift better and stilll able to control it, although I really wish I have DF :(.

Quick Note: If you have to use the E-brake with the stang (or any car for that matter) theres a problem in your settings, EB Drifting slows the car down and causes sharp weight transfer to and fro, where as good brakes can do the same job smoother, again though braking should be used only when needed, expescially with the stang, it has plenty of torque to keep going, so if anything, losening the rear end a tad and feinting before each drift should help get her backend out.......

Comment: i thought it was sorta odd how everyone voted to pick the Mustang as the big muscle car to drift, seeing as the GTO came in second to teh M3 GTR in a drifting review by MPH, the M3 being more precise and for experts, and the GTO predicatble stbale and beginner friendly, on stock settings of course

I have an 05 Ford Mustang and I have found the dream Setup for it and I am
working on a setup for tight tracks now. But as far big tracks like Trail MT.
it's going great.

Well, I intend to do a crawl drift, going slowly and still maintaining drift. I set it up so it can do 4 WD drift easily, since this is the only drift that I can do with faked controller.

Basically, I want make the car drift without too much control needed. Just a little correction on steering left or right when drifting. I aim to make the car drift with no steering needed if done correctly. So all I have to do is initiating a drift, little correcting, and let it slide until next corner exit with little or no steering to maintain the angle.
